She was curious to know what contributed to my negative experience and I explained that I had terrible pain for 2 months after my first procedure due to the previous doctor taking the graft tissue from the roof of my mouth. I was surprised to hear that she offered an option to take the tissue from the back of my mouth which would be less painful and result in a faster healing time. This made the healing process so much easier and I felt as though I had more control over my daily activities (eating, drinking, talking) as a result. The procedure itself was quick and painless. She made sure to explain what she was doing in order to keep me calm and gave all the after care instructions to my partner including her phone number for any concerns. I reached out to her 6 or 7 times with pictures of my graft to make sure that it was healing properly and asked detailed questions about what I could eat or drink. Being that I had such a negative experience with a different doctor, including his bedside manner, I expected there to be annoyance about my inquiries but instead I was met with speedy, knowledgable and empathetic responses. She went out of her way to explain the healing process step by step and gave me reassurance throughout the next 3 weeks. I am so thankful for the support she's provided and would definitely recommend working with her for any of your needs!

When I met Dr. Kim, he was professional, clear, and straightforward. He explained my treatment options concisely and also pointed out potential risks related to my other teeth. After discussing everything together, we decided to take a conservative approach -- remove the wisdom teeth first and monitor the other teeth to see if they could recover over time. I really appreciated being involved in the decision-making process. The surgery itself was excellent. It was my first time receiving anesthesia and having teeth extracted, and I can honestly say I felt absolutely no discomfort. Dr. Kim removed both wisdom teeth efficiently and skillfully. (Yes, I could hear the drill and some hammering sounds -- which was a little funny -- but I felt zero pain.) After the procedure, I followed the instructions carefully, took the prescribed medication, and applied ice as recommended. It's now the second day, and I have no pain at all -- not even noticeable swelling. This is actually the longest Yelp review I've ever written, but I truly felt it was deserved. I came in specifically because I was feeling unwell and suspected a blood sugar issue--especially since lab work from a different clinic the prior week showed a fasting glucose level high enough to indicate diabetes. Despite explaining this, the Physician Assistant (PA) dismissed my concerns, told me I "didn't fit the profile" for diabetes, and ordered a thyroid panel instead. Three days later, the support staff called to tell me they lost my blood sample and needed me to come back in. When I expressed frustration that they lost my sample for a test I didn't even ask for--while still refusing to run the metabolic panel I actually needed--the staff member literally hung up on me. I only returned the next day because it is within walking distance of my house and I was having the same feeling again, wanting to get to the bottom of what was happening. While the PA on duty that day was attentive, she ended up sending me to the ER for my blood pressure. After waiting four hours at the hospital, the ER doctor confirmed it wasn't an emergency at all. To top it all off, I received another call from the urgent care informing me that they did eventually run a metabolic panel, and my A1C and fasting glucose levels are, in fact, indicative of diabetes. Between the PA completely dismissing a patient's concerns, the staff losing blood samples, and being hung up on, the lack of professionalism and competence here is alarming. Go somewhere else.

CIGNA HMO Select is limited to being within network but it is so affordable compare to all the other HMO and PPO insurances that I had gone through. We continue to go back to Dr. Rice, now for some 25 years, not only because of Dr. Rice's outstanding service, heartfelt care, painless techniques, timeliness, friendly disposition, incredible value, and unparalleled expertise, his office is impeccable, and his team is the most attentive and compassionate staff I have ever had the joy of experiencing. Not only does my wife and I find it a pleasure to visit the dentist (no hype), our three children have never known anything different and cannot relate in any manner to the dentist jokes they've heard over the years. If you are looking for a dentist that genuinely has your best interests at heart, is one of the very finest craftsman around, is someone who you will think of more of as a friend than an impersonal doctor, and who has the foresight and wisdom to design a beautiful office and hire remarkable people, this is the place for you. My two front teeth were chipped and my other dentist kept advising me against veneers, basically telling me he didn't want to do it, but not giving me a good explanation why. After a lot of research I found the veneers would be the best permanent solution to getting my teeth fixed. I've heard a lot of nightmare stories about veneers breaking off and how real teeth are better, so I had a lot of concerns going into this. Dr. Rices staff answered all my questions and concerns with professionalism and honesty. As a business owner myself I know how difficult it can be to make sure that every customer walks away happy, so I am very impressed by a staff that goes out of their way to insure each customer is completely satisfied. I totally feel that Dr Rice and his staff do just that! They were punctual, attentive and friendly during every visit. Dr. Rice himself is a very friendly guy and seems to be extremely experienced and know exactly what he is doing. Dr. Rice and his staff are wonderful! I've always hated going to the dentist. I get severe anxiety about being there, and even stress out about it weeks before my appointment! That's how much of a baby I am when it comes to my teeth lol. So when I had to get four teeth pulled and two bone grafts, I was feeling very..anxious? Scared. I was scared to death. I made my fear very apparent to Dr. Rice and he was so understanding. They even prescribed me a sedative to take before I even left the house. I really felt as though I was in good hands- the whole office was very reassuring prior to the surgery day. They even called to check in with me days before hand and give me a few words of encouragement. I have to go back in a few months for implants, and this is probably the first time my entire life I've been comfortable with an upcoming dentist visit..and that's saying a lot coming from me! Dr Rice was a Delta Dental refferal. Then we found him to be an EXCELLENT Dentist for our whole family, even an emergency root canal 2 weeks after having my baby. Now we have found we even attend the same church, and that just increases my trust in him even more. We were very sad when our insurance changed from Delta Dental many years ago, and to be honest, i have finally found a job that has Delta Dental just so I can go back, after being gone over a decade. His staff is just as friendly and warm as can be. The water and snacks are a bonus! You may pay a tad bit more, yet know.... it more than pays for itself. I have very bad teeth and had been going to mediocre (or bad) dentists all my life. An endodontist referred me to Dr. Rice. I found him to be kind, caring and very thorough. I have been coming to Dr. Rice for over 13 Years and his practice is first class. He always has the best and the greatest technology and gadgets to keep you healthy and avoid any trouble. A routine cleaning involves the most thorough cleaning, checking pockets, cancer screenings, and x-rays when needed. His staff is amazing and Tracy is the best. Whew, all you scarty-cats, found such a great dentist! Had not been to the dentist in 3 years but couldn't put it off any longer. The staff smiled and I think they were actually glad I was there. They were efficient, professional and so friendly. Dr. Rice was just brilliant, took care of my toothache and put me on the road to good dental health. I've been through braces and fillings and root canals, etc. I literally have fallen asleep in the adult chair because I have absolutely no fear as I've already experienced the worst they could possibly happen in a dentist's office. I have never in all of my life, experienced a dental practice and a dentist that is as invested and meticulous about my teeth as I am about my health in general. I have had major health issues - very nearly died of lupus - that made me even more acutely aware that, as this amazing dentist said, the mouth is the gateway to health or illness. I have done my homework in saving my own life and literally have doing the "impossible" as a patient at Stanford in putting my autoimmune disease in remission for over three years now. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing. Back in June 2024, when I was 7 months pregnant, my retainers broke and I needed a replacement. I scheduled an appointment and drove 45 minutes to the office, only to find out that Dr. Cho--the only provider who handles Invisalign--was not there that day. I had to make another trip. When I returned for my rescheduled appointment, the first thing the office manager said to me was, "Oh no, what are you doing here? We won't be able to help you." Being greeted that way, especially while pregnant and after already dealing with scheduling issues, was incredibly upsetting and unprofessional. I eventually paid for new retainers, expecting better quality and service. However, about a year and a half later, my "new" retainers cracked. When I called, I was again told I had to come in on a specific day to see Dr. Cho. I drove back down, assuming they would help fix the issue, but instead I was told they would not be doing anything. The doctor didn't even come out to speak with me or explain the situation. I had just missed two hours of work for something that could have been communicated over the phone. Throughout these experiences, I felt there was no understanding, no accountability, and no basic courtesy. To make matters worse, when I later called to speak with the doctor directly, I was hung up on. After years of being a loyal patient and investing a lot financially, this is not the level of care or respect I expected. I cannot recommend this office based on my experience.
