Since I've moved into the area had to find a new take-out Chinese place that met my standards. This one met it for sure. If you go to their website you can actually place your order online first then pick it up. All the food was your basic take-out nothing out of the ordinary, but we enjoyed it. Really enjoyed the General Tso, and also I love the take out containers they can be recycled, rather than just throwing them out. We The staff is very friendly as well. I used to like this place but they turned into another business that doesn't care about customer service. I picked up my food, drove home, showered and got ready to eat only to find out I didn't get what I ordered. Then they said we can bring it to you but don't eat what I had picked up. Not very friendly here and most of their food is really over done. I tried sweet/sour shrimp 2 different time and both times I could hardly chew the shrimp. Through it most of the 2nd order. This was pickup orders and the Mongolian Beef had a pice of hard plastic that cut my mouth and they would not refund my money. Just kept saying sorry sorry sorry but no refund. Only place open on Christmas day, but food was good and price is convenient. There was no bufé, ordered from the menu, good variety for a Chinese restaurant. If you're expecting traditional food, then this is not the place, food is good but very americanised. Most people order take out. Food was delivered quickly and hot. read more

This place always seems a step above your average Chinese place. The sauces seem better, even the General Tso's the kids get. I usually get the shredded pork with garlic sauce. They give you free crab rangoon when you order a certain amount, but my kids never eat them, so I end up eating too many. I mean they're no good the next day, right? read more

Solid three. I got take out...they didn't have the ac on, so no way to eat there. The portions were huge! I got egg fu yung because so many chinese joints dont make it. It was a little on the done side on the bottom tho. I also got rangoons and substituted noodles for rice. This easily could have been a meal for 3-4 people. read more

I live right next to rice house and I've got to experience it over time. It used to be so good, the price was reasonable and the food was real solid. Then they started up the buffet and took over the subway next door. The buffet is terrible, the lady who owns the place clearly employs her family; none of them have any people skills. I love Chinese and I haven't found the perfect spot yet until I tried this place. SO SO SO GOOD! The amount of food you get for the price is outstanding! And the food is always HOT and fresh i love it! Plus they're open late and they're quick with your order. We normally do take-out option and you know how most places you get like half what you would if you dined in? WELL NOT HERE! I think you get even more if you do take out lol I just love it here. This place is awful. The (who I'm assuming is) manager never even looked up from his phone when I walked in. I sat at my table for a bit. Nothing happened so I went to get my food from the buffet table, and almost everything was empty. It didn't seem like they were taking any efforts to refill anything either. Once I scrounge what I could out of the bottom oft he buffet line, I had to ask the manager for both silverware and a drink. Sit down to eat and the food doesn't taste terrible aside from the rock hard grains of rice that I'm still picking out of my teeth. The chicken was stale and dry. Was in the area and the kids were really hungry and they wanted Chinese. Have driven by this place countless times and decided to give it a shot. We did the lunch special and everything was terrific! Was approached by a young woman who informed me my scoop of shrimp..was not included in the buffet in front of a crowd of people..I've never been so embarrassed in my life..food was cold and most of the buffet trays were empty..would not recommend at all. I used to enjoy this place, that time was when they didn't have a buffet. Was in the area for work, so I decided to stop in. The buffet was almost empty of food, what they did have was cold and tasted old. The 2 people i saw working cleaned the tables quickly after someone left but otherwise they were sitting around or playing loud and annoying music off their phone. This place was terrible! Plastic still on the chairs and very little food on the buffet at noon during the week. I went with 2 friends and one found a piece of a steel wool scrubber in his shrimp. When he showed it to the watress, she took it and walked off. Never apologized and charged him full price for his meal. We will never go back here again. read more

My coworkers and I order from this place often and it's usually alright. However, our last order had issues and when I called to get them resolved, I was shocked at how poorly the situation was handled. The manager was rude and wanted me to take a pic of the order that was messed up! The absolute worst Chinese restaurant. We ordered take out - chicken in garlic sauce and Szechuan Beef. They were both exactly the same...same sauce, same vegetables. The only different was the meat. We live in the area thought we'd stop by and have lunch. This is absolutely the worst place I've ever eaten. We did the buffet, my fiance' said there is something moving on your plate, there were baby COCKROACHES in the fried rice, we complained and they could have cared less, knocked 10%, said could cook some fresh rice, said no way. They are rude, had to refill our own drinks, there were bugs flying around us. I would rate this place lower than 1 star if I could. We stopped in and ordered. Once we got our food, the cook came out of the kitchen with chicken nuggets and French fries, sat at the table behind us and yelled into his phone for the entirety of our meal. My husband and I went to the Rice house several years ago when they first opened. The food then was okay at best they tried to serve us instant ice tea. U tried them maybe two years ago and was not impressed. I went there today to give them a third and final chance. I figured there must be a reason why they are still there. Boy was I wrong. The buffet was very small. The broccoli chicken looked just like some other chicken thing that was near it and they tasted the same as well. I tried another chicken item and the chicken was rubbery and tasted a little weird, The salt and pepper shrimp was breaded and the breading was gummy. I also tried the hot sour soup and it had little flavor the, flavor it had tasted like the two chicken dishes that tasted alike The ice tea and coffee are still instant the one lady who has been mentioned in previous was again on the phone. I cannot imagine how they have lasted there so long. There use to be a very good Chinese place in the Henhouse that is located in the same shopping center. They were ten times better that this place. There is now another Chinese restaurant in hen house while they are not as good as the original place they are still better that rice house. read more

My boyfriend and I order from this place 2 or 3 times a month we pick up they deliver sometime. When we go in the staff is always nice and the get the food out in a timely manner. There food is always delivered fast I also live 1.5 miles away. I love there food so much the best in the area read more

The price of the lunch specials are great for what you get. They are very fast. It is pretty basic, but they are consistent. Nothing wrong with that. Like some of the other reviews- I have never been to the buffet, so I cannot comment on that. When I go, it is usually for lunch on the weekend, and I do not think they have the buffet then. read more

When going to a Chinese buffet quality is almost always sacrificed for quantity. The rice house is no exception. All of the food I tried was edible at best. Usually even below average Chinese restaurants have at least one good item (crab rangoon, potstickers, etc.) but the rice house failed at even accomplishing this task.
