So apparently this place doesn't serve people who dont order food or drink. I walked in and asked them to immediately serve me. They said, and I quote, "sorry mam, what was the name on your order?" I replied. "Excuse me?! Do you know who I am?! Do you know how long I was in labor giving birth to you?!" They then, looking concerned and slightly frightened said "I'm really sorry mam. Did you place an order with us? We would be happy to serve you if you ordered" I. Lost. It. I said "you always do this. Unreal. Just wait till your father gets home. He is going to spank you. So ungrateful!!!!" 5 stars

I didn't complain the first time, but this is the 2nd time my food has tasted burnt.

Wanted some fast Chinese food; Found Rice Pot Xpress on Yelp. Went with my benchmark test ...beef and broccoli; They got it right...served fresh , fast, and tasted good... came with a hot springRoll. Big portion size (check my pics...That's a lunch portion!). test passed. One minor ding... fried rice didn't have any little veggie pieces or egg but was still decent.

Chicken pad thai is the best thing on the menu, they use drunken noodles and when you ask for spicy you actually get spicy.

Love this place! A little more expensive than some of the other local Chinese locations but worth it.

I have eaten at enough sushi restaurants to know the formula…read more Step 1: Install bamboo. Step 2: Add a dragon. Step 3: Play mysterious flute music. Step 4: Name every roll after either a volcano, a ninja, or an apocalypse. Komodo Loco apparently looked at that formula and said, "Nah." This place has actual character. The restaurant is dark and cool without feeling like you're being interrogated. There are cozy little nooks everywhere, and somehow it manages to feel both laid-back and upscale. Like if a speakeasy and a sushi restaurant had a child who grew up with excellent taste. Then the food arrived. Look, I've had plenty of sushi. I've had good sushi. I've had "my friend won't stop talking about this sushi" sushi. Komodo Loco belongs in the last category. The fish was incredibly fresh, but what really stood out was that the rolls didn't all taste like slight variations of spicy mayo negotiating with cream cheese. The flavors were genuinely original. We ordered the Crispy Rice Bites, the T-Dub Roll, and the Horacio Roll based on our server's recommendations. The Crispy Rice Bites were so good I briefly considered ordering a second round before I had finished the first. The T-Dub Roll disappeared from the plate so quickly that I suspect it may have violated several laws of physics. The Horacio Roll was one of those dishes that makes you stop talking mid-sentence and stare into the middle distance while reconsidering every life choice that led you to not order two of them. Which brings me to our server: Breann. Or Breanna. I apologize for not knowing which one. In my defense, I was busy entering a committed relationship with sushi. My daughter is moving to Denton, and since we don't live here, we asked what we should order. Breann/Breanna immediately became the Gandalf of menu navigation. There was no hesitation. No "everything is good." No vague server diplomacy. Just confident recommendations that absolutely delivered. She was kind, funny, helpful, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. More importantly, she made my daughter feel at home in a city she's about to call home. As a dad, that meant a lot. I also loved how Komodo Loco celebrated Pride Month. Not because restaurants have to weigh in on everything, but because the atmosphere simply communicated: "Hey, you're welcome here." And honestly, that's one of the best things a restaurant can do. Good food fills your stomach. A welcoming place fills the room. Komodo Loco managed to do both. So yes, I'll be back every time I'm in Denton. My daughter thinks she's moving here for school. I think she's moving here so I'll have an excuse to eat at Komodo Loco several times a year. One of us is probably right.

It wasn't very busy at the time, but our drinks still took about ten minutes to arrive. We started with potstickers, which were delicious, and our little one's avocado came out quickly, which we appreciated. However, after placing our order, we noticed several tables seated after us receiving their food before we did. At one point, we were concerned our order may have been overlooked. When the food finally arrived, it was very good--no complaints there--but the wait was a bit disappointing, especially since most of what we ordered were appetizers. Overall, we'd still come back, just hoping for a smoother experience next time.

The manager was so friendly and came out to our table to ask about our food if it was ok and to our satisfaction. She spoke Spanish and carried on a very sweet conversation with my elderly mom. Clean, well maintain and has excellent outside lighting. Additionally, there is outside seating. This is my first time at this location, as I moved to Grapevine from Flower Mound about four years ago. The service was excellent! My General Tao spicy chicken came out exactly the way I custom order it. Though I did not get any of these this time, their edamame, egg rolls, and wontons are always excellent! As is literally everything else on the menu, and you can custom make any of it! Parking was a little frustrating, as for some reason, the shopping center gave the Imaging place a whole bunch of upfront spots, more than I believe they really need, making a little difficult to park at the Pei Wei... but not really that difficult! On the final note, Pei Wei is my favorite place! However, I think with the last price increase, they are overpriced. Having the app helps, when they run specials, which isn't nearly as often as it was in the past! I would be eating here two or three times a week if it wasn't for the price ! I'll always come back to Pei Wei, when the pricing is right!

Leaving 1 star only because 0 stars isn't an option…read more My boyfriend and I dined here today for Father's Day. The food itself was actually very good--we ordered sushi and hibachi steak and enjoyed both. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. After being seated, we waited 10-15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us or brought us drinks. Once our food arrived, the server immediately walked away without asking if we needed anything else. We never received yum yum sauce, so my boyfriend had to walk up to the sushi station to ask for it himself. While he was there, he saw our server sitting behind the sushi station eating instead of checking on tables. By the time we finally got the sauce, I was already thirsty from the soy sauce and had finished my drink. I placed my empty cup on the edge of the table, but our server didn't come back for at least another 10 minutes. A hostess eventually noticed and kindly offered me a refill. The next time our server came to the table, it wasn't to check on us--it was to drop off the bill. We were never asked if we needed anything else or if we wanted dessert. Then came the biggest issue. When we looked over the bill, we noticed an automatic 20% gratuity had been added for our party of two. The menu clearly states that a 20% gratuity is only added for parties of six or more. When we questioned the server, we were told management had added a 20% gratuity to every check because it was Father's Day. Our subtotal was about $80, but the final bill came to $103 after the automatic gratuity. I'm not even sure whether the gratuity was calculated before or after tax, as nothing was explained or disclosed beforehand. I spoke with the manager, whose only response was, "I'll talk to the server." There was no apology, no effort to correct the situation, and no explanation as to why the automatic gratuity was not disclosed before we ordered. Customers should be informed of mandatory service charges in advance, especially when they differ from the restaurant's stated policy. Had I received this level of service without the forced gratuity, I certainly would not have chosen to tip 20%. The food deserves praise, but unfortunately, great food can't make up for terrible service and an undisclosed automatic gratuity. We won't be returning.
