I am very disappointed at the Richardson Toyota Body Dealership service, misinformed, misrepresenting and lack of the service information. I went to Richardson Toyota on 05/26/2025 for the Toyota service recall to repaint my vehicle with the newest testing designed new color Toyota had on my vehicle. The color is called (PEARL color). When the Service representative inspected the vehicle had mentioned he was going to paint there and here all over the vehicle. I even asked if that means you are going to paint the WHOLE CAR? He said YES and it will take 2-3 weeks to complete this job. After the service, I am thinking my vehicle will be completed and done with Toyota Corporate Service recall, and I thought this was a onetime thing done deal. As far as I know, ever there is a recall or service recall you can only use it for one time only and was never thinking of still being active until the expiration date. The Service Adviser never explained that if any other peeling of this vehicle is still covered by Toyota Corporation and I will need to bring it back before an expiration date, or either letting me know that some spot was not painted for me, keep an eye on it. In the Middle of January,2026, I noticed the paint peel of the vehicle and had tried and tried to contact the representative and tried to speak with him directly but was unable to reach him directly. I kept up and started leaving messages at the end of January. But he never calls me back. Then in the beginning of February, I called back and was still unable to reach him. Then I finally reached him in the beginning of March, and it turned out that the car roof was never painted and my Toyota Corporate recall warranty service also ended 02/01/2026. read more

I am still in shock over the treatment I received from this company. I can't believe this is on the approved list through my insurance company. When I first walked in, I was greeted by Peyton. He was so nice and assured that they would fix the damage to my car like new. I was so pleased with his approach. Now I know that was all fake. He is a really good actor. My car was in there for a month getting the window replaced and I had some damage to my side panel. When it was done, I went in and paid the invoice and left. The next day I noticed the cover to my side mirror was missing. I sent a text and Peyton said it was like that when I brought it in and that he had a picture to prove it. This was absolutely not true. I back up into most parking places and would definitely notice if my 2021 vehicle with only 9000 miles was missing the mirror cover. However, just in case, I asked him to supply a picture showing the time it was taken. I never received that picture. Then I realized the window that they "fixed" wouldn't stay up. The only way I could keep it up was to turn the car off as soon as it hit the top or else it would roll back down. How could they miss that? I went in. Peyton was a completely different person than the nice guy I met when I dropped my car off. He was so aggressive and rude. He wouldn't even consider the fact that they might be at fault for my mirror cover. When I showed him about my window, he literally rolled his eyes acting like this was such a minor problem. He then took my car back to the repair site. I followed behind. He came at me telling me I wasn't allowed back there. At that point I felt like something Shady was going on, so I explained that I was going to go because I needed to make sure nothing else came up missing off my car. He then yelled at me saying that the mirror cover wasn't their fault, and he will not replace it. I told him I was well aware that he wasn't going to take blame, but I was still going to stand there to make sure everything went smoothly. Mainly because at this point the way he was treating me I did not trust my car in their care at all. So now, he tells me I owe them $100 because my window and the damage repair were two separate claims. I thought this was how it was from the beginning but since I was only charged $500, I figured they were able to keep it all together as one claim. As I said before, I absolutely do not trust them. I said I would need Farmers to call me to confirm this. He now was yelling saying I needed to pay it now. I said I couldn't until I talked to Farmers. He said that I needed to go in and talk to his GM. I was in a hurry, so he said he was going to have his GM come out. I said OK. I waited. Once the window was fixed, no GM, I left. Later that night I saw a missed call and voicemail from the GM Jason. He was SCREAMING. This morning Jason called. When I answered he was already screaming. I asked him to let me talk but I couldn't get a single word in. He said I owed $500, and he was going to take legal action. He kept screaming. No matter how many times I waited for him to finish, and I would try to talk he would talk right over me screaming again then just hung up on me. I called him back. I asked if this was how he treated all his clients. He began screaming again. Now I am almost in tears. I had never been treated like this from a company. I tried to explain that I just needed Farmers to call me to tell me what I needed to do but he was calling me a thief and that he was going to sue me for theft of services. He hung up on me again. I was shaking. Being a woman is hard enough, but we all know how hard it is to be a woman and any automotive service place. I know he would never had yelled at me this way had I been a man. Richardson Body Shop - Mirror cover missing - Body Shops Near Me - Richardson, Texas

I brought my car here over two years ago after one of the three clips on the drivers side of my front bumper broke, and made my bumper slightly elevated from the body of the car. The service guy that saw me was like I can put alittle glue and tape to fix or you can pay $2000 or so for a new bumper. He glued the clip with some double sided tape and guess what two years later it is still holding up. Guy didn't even charge me it took him 10 mins and I was on my way. I thought I was taking my car to a reputable body shop owned by Toyota of Richardson, not the case. I had an insurance claim and brought my car to get repaired - just he bumper. Everything else was pristine among handing over the car. Fast forward a few days, I had to call to inquire about the status of repairs. Since then I've gotten really wildly incoherent calls from the employees trying to confirm a pick up date. "I think it'll be ready this week", "It might be ready tomorrow" "I don't know" - answers from employees. Whoops, looks like I brought my car to a really idiocratic shop. Finally after 2 days of trying to check the status and getting redundant replies, I went to pick up my car. Low and behold she's super shiny and the bumper looks great- until I started driving... Had a horrible experience with this facility from day one. It was on the list of both Farmers and Mercury's sponsored vendors to use after a car accident, so we thought it would be a good choice. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We reported everything to the insurance company the hour of the accident, but by the time the shop got back to us, a hail storm had hit and there was a 5-week waiting list to get in. Understandable, but frustrating. We made the appointment and waited 5 weeks. Upon checking in that day, the man who made the appointment with my wife had no scheduled appointment in the books, and had no record of the appraisal that was initially done at the shop. He gave no estimate of when the car would be ready, so I waited 3 days before calling to find out. He told me they would not be fixing everything that happened in the accident and that he needed the adjuster to come back out. His tone was demeaning, rude, impatient, and downright mean. They did nothing to even touch the car for over a week and the items on the second appraisal didn't even get started until over a month later when I called OUR insurance company (not the insurance company processing the claim) to complain. Our agent put the fear of God in him because he was sweet as pie after that. They fixed everything and did a good job. That's the second star of this review. They did however have their building painted while our car was in their possession, and our black car was covered in white overspray and paint drops when we picked it up. They fixed that when we brought the car in the next day. Also a justification for the second star. Overall, I would strongly recommend against using this facility. I agree with some of the other negative postings here. Andrew was my service advisor and simply didn't have the gumption to take notes or follow through on request that had been made both verbal or by email. Once Andrew proved to me that I needed to get additional help from his manager, the manager proved to me where Andrew may have gained his training or lack there of. Bottom line, this is not the service team you'd want to use if your expectations are that the work will be completed right the first time, or the second, or so on. For me it's a three strike and out rule - and that extends to the entire body and service department. The service department is very proud of the volume, but most of us want quality and assurance our needs are met on the initial visit. If you need to travel further to get to another service or body shop you should, if you read this and experience similar experiences I encourage you to post here. read more

They have been unable to repair my Volvo correctly. This will now be the fourth return visit. The first time it went back because the paint job was awful. The second time it went back was because the chrome trim was bent and they screwed up the window, it was out of alignment and squeaking when rolling up or down. My vehicle was side swiped by an UBER Drive who was trying to cut in front of me at the last minute at a traffic light. Richardson Body Shop is right next door to my Toyota dealer and has repaired a scratched bumper before. They did an EXCELLENT job on my bumper so I decided to take my vehicle back to them for this damage. As before, they did a great job this time also. The whole Toyota of Richardson is a joke. The body shop department took my car in on Tuesday and called me on Thursday and told me my car was ready for pick-up. I told them I will come by after work around 6PM and when I arrived at 6:10, the body shop was closed. It would have been nice if they told me earlier that the shop closed at 6, because I turned in my rental car before I came to Toyota Richardson. I would've been stranded, but they left my car door UNLOCKED and I was able to get my hidden spare key (that I never took out of the car when I bought it). Never did I get an apology from the guy... I was going to take my car in for a 60,000 checkup at TOR, but that definitely is not going to be happening. I am NEVER going to take my car there or buy another Toyota from this dealership. They called and said my car was ready for pick, great! Came down and it was parked outside, looking good so far... Tried to take it for a test drive and it wouldn't shift out of park?? How would you not notice the vehicle will not shift prior to calling your customer to say it's FINISHED? Not only that but the alignment is pulling to the left and a missing plastic panel at the bottom from the point of impact, a rather large panel at that. OK, not terribly upset at this point but decided to give them a chance to correct the issues. Came back to pick up my car and the alignment is still off, I mean the steering wheel is now turned to the right to what I can guess counter the pulling to the left. Did they even have an alignment done? Now I do believe they replaced my brake pad and rotor from the wheel that was damaged. However, I'm no mechanic but with an impact costing almost 10grand I would guess that would have been replaced initially not after I complain about an alignment. I decided the 3rd times the charm but not only is there a continued alignment issue but now the engine light is on. So as the car was in their hands to review the current issues it was then hit by hail. Of course my insurance says that's on you with a deductible. Along with the engine light and now rattling from the trunk and trunk will not close properly I'm left to work it out. I guess I should have brought my own mechanic to the mechanic shop. Perhaps my own claims adjuster to review it with there claims adjuster... Stay away if you can, do your research and find your own shop. read more

Where do I begin..um they are the WORST! Do NOT get your car fixed here, run dor the hills! Its not only one staff, its the entire shop. I blind folded decided to have my car fix there after the towing truck had contract with them so thought it would save me the hassle with insurance company...big mistake. 1) Andrew did not communicate progress of my vehicle. I would have to keep calling him to check status, yet still took entire 2 months to get car fixed here. When he said car work already started, yup that was a lie. 2) I went in on Sat to get items out of vehicle, and no one could locate my car keys! And no work had been started on car (so I was lied to basically). Spoke with "Rep" acting as manager on duty and was able to resolve NOTHING for me. Waste of time and gas money driving there for nothing! 3) Do NOT leave any valuables in car. Ray Ban sunglasses came up missing misteriously when I drove yet another time to get items out of car. They deny any of their staff stole glasses, but they did. 4) They cause extra out of pocket costs and dont care! They "noticed" air compressor was not working and told my insurance company it was not related to accident. Um it was, doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Why would anyone be driving their car without working AC in TX! Prior to accident it worked great, after accident after its been in the hands of these crooks for 2 months, its not working! This is a 2012 car with No prior issues. So its very unlikely the compressor went out , and very coincidentally while vehicle was in their posession. They offered a discounted price to fix, a good $950 bucks (really $$$ hungry here and not to be trusted. I really feel they were liable since I dont know what or the "tech" credentials working under hood of my car. 5) There work is sloppy!! At this point Ive realized they lie (car work never really started when they said it did), they are a mess internally with business process (lost keys), they steal (glasses) they dont care about anything but $$$. So I get call that my car is ready for pickup. I ask are you sure? Yes they said, driven and ready for you. Get in car, and the sterring wheel was NOT fixed properly, it was lose and did NOT turn correctly, the brake light is on, and tire air are low (sloppy work!!!). Again "Rep" acting manager on Sat does NOTHING to resolve. Dusts hands and I will have to wait to Monday. More waste of time and gas money..again. At this point, ive realized Tlthey are NOT concerned with customer service at all, never once did they offer a loaner vehicle, mind you car was in shop for total of 2 months! Service staff is nice and will work with you. Does a decent paint job. Terribly quality control. They outsource some of the work to people who do a sloppy job. Car came back with scratches on trim and tint. Had them redo/repair the work but came back with issues still (what do you expect, outsourced again to the people who caused the problems). Had tint redone twice but still has bubbles. Decals were cut with jagged edges instead of smooth curves. Replacement parts left in the car. Avoid this shop. Go somewhere else if you can. read more

These people are so insanely rude. They don't care about their clients at all. They figure they have enough already so they don't need any more. First I was told I didn't need an appointment, but then when I get there they tell me I need one. So then I call to make an appointment and they try to schedule me for a month later. When I explain my situation to them they tell me to go somewhere else. Not to mention the receptionist Jenny has to have you repeat yourself five times just to get your name right. Unbelievable. I recently took my corolla in to have hail damage and some other damages repaired. They were very helpful in walking me through the process and told me how long to expect my car to be there. The service tech's did an exceptional job. These guys have an excellent eye for getting each and every dent. My car looks brand new. I was impressed by the quality of the work and the customer service. They repaired it sooner than they originally quoted me, thus saved me money on the rental car. I had an accident in my 2010 Jeep Wrangler in December 2019 just before the holidays. Obviously a bad time to go through the ordeal regarding timing of repairs, replacement car, etc. I will tell you these guys and gals are the best! Everyone there went above and beyond the call of duty to get my vehicle repaired and back to me with absolutely no surprises. Jason Calton kept me informed every step of the way and found every after market part needed. Hooray! Hillary was great and helped as well. Chris Black took 45 minutes with me the day I picked it up and made sure I knew and approved of everything they did. Director John Kersh made sure I was not without a loaner vehicle when extra time was needed at the end. My Jeep now actually rides better than before the repairs and the paint match is spot on. That morning when the accident happened, no one stopped to offer assistance, the police were gruff, and my tow truck driver was grumpy and only asked me how I was going to pay. Oil change for Corolla, drain plug still loose, go home oil leaking all over place. Alignment for Camry, parts not in stock, the tech didn't change. Come back twice to re-alignment. Ticking noise under the hood, replace water pump, noise still there, came back replace the pulley the noise is gone. I ask service manager to refund the water pump. This company has some serious quality control and management issues but they do have a sense of integrity in there. I brought them my damaged car after an accident because they are connected to Toyota of Richardson. After a week I get the call that the car is ready. Not only did they not complete the repair correctly - re-using some of the damaged parts but the car actually had new damage. To their credit they didn't dispute the issue and they paid for my rental from that point. So I get another its ready call. This time the original damage is fixed but the new damage is still visible so I have to leave a second time without my car. A day and a half later the third time is a charm - the car was finally done right. Now I give them points for integrity not trying to dispute the second collision but screwing up the repair twice like that just can't be forgiven. Given the circumstances they should have gone over the car with a fine tooth comb but they didn't. Clearly they don't understand quality control. read more

I have to agree with some of the other reviews. Their work was sloppy. The paint was not smooth and there was damage on the car that they "buffed" out and didn't bother asking me if I wanted it fixed to put extra money in their pockets. No phone call with the estimate just a call almost three days later letting me know how long my car would be in the shop. Nothing was actually replaced and I guess you could say it's good they recycle but I had to physically go down there to make sure the integrity of the bumper was ok. I'm really not a fan and if I ever have to get work done again I will be making the extra drive to Rusty Wallis. Andrew was nice but I get the feeling he was not trained too well and it's really not his fault the body work sucked. He did go the extra mile to get a paint pen and go over some of the left damage. They did a wonderful job on my Camry. I had some minor damage on the passenger side, and at first, I was a little worried about having the repairs done only because I am VERY picky and VERY vocal on how I want my car fixed. Andrew, assistant manager, made sure everything was done to exceed my expectations. I feel like I was bugging him during the entire repair process, but he made me feel welcome. So here we are, approx. 3 weeks later, and I get the phone call from Andrew saying that my car is ready. I was so excited I left work an hour early because I was nervous, but yet excited to see the final results of my car. He pulls my car around to the front and OMG!!! I couldn't be any happier!!! My car looked like it had never been involved in an accident!!! The car looked absolutely flawless!!! I want to thank everyone at Richardson Automotive; everyone from the ladies at the front desk all the way down to the technician and tow truck drivers! You put all of my worries to ease and I very satisfied with the end result!!! =D read more

It's very rare that I leave a place anymore feeling 100% satisfied. I came by today on my lunch break just to have my car looked at due to being rear ended last week. I walked in and was immediately greeted. The adjustor came to greet me in less than a minute. Normally when you're getting something done for free out of insurance people tend to take their sweet time just because it's coming out of their pocket. Not the case here. I had a ton of questions and the adjustor explained everything to me so professionally. I mentioned that my car seat had been in the car during the wreck & he wrote me a check for a new one right there on the spot. No hesitations at all! He made me feel like he truly cared about my child's safety, even if my repairs on my car were very minor. I'm not having my car repaired here just because it's so far from home (I only came because it was close to work) but I definitely would if it was closer! Overall great experience. If I could give this place negative stars I would. The guy who talked to us about my car, Ray Ramirez, not only forgot the most important part of the area he repaired. It took them 3 weeks past the expected date to get the car done (which wasn't the problem) it was after when he forgot the part and we gave them more time but then they left stains all over the interior, put the decal on wrong, left a 2 panels on the inside of the car loose and when my husband went off on him for fucking up so bad he later turned to me after my husband left and said "how does he function at work" as if my husband being mad over Rays screwing up his car meant he couldn't function in society. Then the shop said we didn't have a deductible and we asked several times and Ray even said he'd try to have it waived if for some reason it came back on us later, about it before we left, we got a call over 2 months later saying that they had to have the deductible in 24 hours. read more
