They were closing but the woman and the guy from the shop gave me a rough price per tire wich was lower than what I found online. I called the day after and got a verbal quote and they told me that they were not busy and could do it right now. I went to the shop and 30 minutes later I was out! Chatted a bit with the people over there, all very nice. As I was waiting for my new tires 2 people showed up with flat and they got a replacement/fix real fast (~5-10 minutes). Came by to get two tires mounted in balanced. Met the shop owner who is a great guy. I drove the car Reno and noticed that it was acting strangely. I took it to shop up there to have the same two wheels rebalanced. The tech found that one wheel was unbalanced, maybe a weight fell off? The other wheel still had the old old weights from before and the new weights were just stacked on top. The tech from Rich's shop didn't even bother to take off the old weights! In summary: -2 stars for your tech's shoddy workmanship. All he had to do was knock off the old wheel weights first instead of stacking new ones on. -1 star for an unbalanced wheel or missing wheel weight. +2 stars for having a nice owner and good hours. You should keep an eye on your tech and make sure they're not cutting corners. read more

I went to this business based on the Yelp reviews. As noted elsewhere, it's not much to look at, and would have been easily passed over if not for the positive comments online. In short, all of those comments were warranted. The price was cheap and service was quick and helpful, even to the point of helping me with the onerous task of replacing the spare tire cover on my RAV4. Fast service at the cheapest price. This place is a god send. For under a $100 I had my flat fixed on my Honda Civic and had new tires placed on my Jeep Commander (tires bought at tirerack.com). For both cars I was there maybe a combined 20 minutes. They even has the honesty to tell me it would be cheaper to order tires for my Jeep at Tirerack.com and have it shipped to their shop. I had 4 tires installed by Rich's Tire Service. Right afterwards, I went on the highway and had horrible shaking at 60 mph. I took it back and they tried balancing the tires again. It was better, but still had shaking. I rotated the tires a few months later and wham! the shaking was back in full force. I took my car to Custom Alignment and the guy there said it looked like someone who had never balanced a tire before worked on my car. He pointed out all the problems, including not providing any dynamic balancing. He couldn't believe I had driven the car for so long before taking it in! He spent about 90 minutes fixing what Rich's tire service had screwed up. Anyways, bottom line is do not be influenced by the price and speed of Rich's. You get what you paid for. I've seen real professionals balance tires and it takes more than 10 minutes. read more

Don't go anywhere else for tires. I've unfortunately had a handful of tire repairs needed (slow and fast leaks) over the past few years. At first I would search around for the best price, but I quickly realized that Rich's was always unbeatable. On top of that, the longest I've ever had to wait for my repair to be finished was probably 15 minutes. The staff is extremely fast, professional and nice. Excellent service and personnel! A couple months or so ago poor stupid naive me didn't know that there even was an option to repair tires. I had developed a slow leak in one, due to a large staple, and was driving around trying to find a place that could replace it. Costco was the cheapest but had about a 5 hour wait (no thanks!) Other places were also swamped. So then I found this place and decided to give it a go...nobody there, no waiting. I inquired about replacement tires, without actually telling him what the problem was to start with, and the guy was really helpful about giving me options. Finally, when I did get around to telling him, he said, "oh, if that's your problem we can just repair your tire for $10, no need to waste your money on a new one." Truly amazing when they could easily have taken me for the price of a new tire when I didn't need it. So he did the repair, and I was out of there a mere 5 minutes later only out $10! A few weeks later I ran over another nail (slow leak, again), and this time I knew exactly where to go. Saturday mid-morning (when it's nearly impossible to get an immediate drive-up fix at any commercial tire place), again no waiting, they saw me drive up, motioned me to inch the car forward so they could find the problem, pay $10, fixed the leak lickety-split and I was off in another 5 minutes. A caveat...they don't take credit cards for bills less than $20, so if you're going in for just a tire repair, make sure you have cash. Which shouldn't be a problem, as there are several ATM spots within a block or two of the place. Wonderful business! Would definitely go again! read more

Sadly I did not have a good experience here, had my flat fixed and it still leaked. My leak was in the center of the tire so wasn't a complicated repair. Paid 25 bucks and come home and it was still leaking air. Sunday morning there weren't a lot of places open early so I traveled 8 miles to this place. I would have went back, but too much of a hassle since it wasn't close by. read more

Easiest tire service ever! My tire had been leaking air for a week or two so I brought it in with no appointment. A mechanic immediately came out, splashed soapy water on the offending tire, and located a giant nail embedded in it. 5 minutes later, the nail was gone and the tire was patched. $10 was all it cost. A complete departure from a typical tire shop, where you'll wait an hour for them to look at it, only for them to try and sell you new tires and probably brakes too. -1 star for not accepting credit cards for purchases under $15. That's the highest limit I've ever seen. read more

I got a flat tire on my way to see a friend in Mountain View immediately after getting off the freeway. After looking around, we got our friend to drive us to Rich's Tire Service, but they were about to close. The guy stayed open and helped us with the tire. My boyfriend and I were really broke, so we were dreading hearing how much it would cost, but we got a used tire for like $25, and he didn't even charge much (if anything) for labor. The boyfriend found Rich's on Yelp and saw all the great reviews, so he went over to have them replace a tire that had a gash in it. He was so happy with the service that I gave them a try today for a suspect leaky tire. First of all, they're open on Sunday. Second of all, within seconds of having my tire off the car, they found the nail causing the problem. Five minutes later, my tire was patched and back on the car. Third, it only cost me $10. I should mention that I live around the corner from a larger, more commercial tire place, but drove the extra way to go to Rich's. I am so glad I did. Nobody tried to sell me new tires or any other service i didn't need, the repair was completed quickly, and the price was definitely right. Sincerely, Rich's is awesome. All of this happened in less than 10 minutes and for only $15. I pulled in to Rich's and had an employee immediately approach me and ask what the problem. I told him I had a slow leak in one of my wheels. He had me slowly roll the car forward and identified a nail. Thanks Yelpers! This review is for a tire repair. Note that the near 5 star rating is mainly for tire repairs in 10 minutes. Read all reviews before considering other work. I pulled up, they waved me to the foot of the garage, the guy immediately jacked my car up, pulled the wheel off, plugged the tiny whole and put the wheel back on. Kind of like being a formula one racer. Took 5- 10 minutes. Note: I read my run flat tires (ContiProContact SSR) were not repairable, even the manufacturer says this, but these guys had no issue with repairing it. If you have a run flat tire, try not to drive on it, even though they say you can up to 50 miles or whatever. I had AAA tow the car 40 miles, then I only drove it 3 miles to the shop. It's the best way to go. The guy said that if I didn't tow it, I would run some risk of damaging the sensors and or the rim, even though the tire manufacturer claims 50 miles max. If you don't need to risk it, don't. read more

I read about Rich's and decided to drive me and my leaky tire over to them. I'm so glad I did. When I pulled up there was a few customers there but they managed to fix my tire right away. I was in and out of there within 15 minutes. I couldn't believe it. The cool thing was they managed to notice another problem in my tire that the original shop didn't notice. Had a very slow leak in my tire. Dreaded going to a big chain. Tried Rich's... the lot was busy and it was just before closing. The manager -- Alex -- said to "wait a minute, we'll take care of you", which I did, with extraordinary hospitality provided. Cheers. After about a five minute wait, I was told to pull my car closer and Mario jacked up the corner of the car with care, removed the (very expensive) tire, and diagnosed a nail fragment causing the problem. Before I could even ask what to do about, he removed the fragment, plugged it, refilled the tire with air. Tire was re-installed carefully and... boom done! $15. No up-sell. Could not have been more pleased. I will give them my business when these tires need replacing. read more

I'm NOT surprised this place has almost 5 stars. Got off work, found my right front flat as a pancake. Called AAA, they came out, filled my tire with air, then had me follow them to Rich's Tire. What a wonderful owner!!! He took great care of me. Had my tire fixed within minutes, filled up all four tires with air, refilled my fluid all for NOTHING. What a refreshing find. A decent, honest tire place. I go through tires pretty quickly (i think speed limits are more like "guidelines", plus i do a lot of road trips).... I gave my word to the owner I will ONLY be coming here from now on, and I HIGHLY suggest anyone reading do the same. Just not when I need 4 new ones. ;) FYI, they do not do appointments.
