First time ordering from this location that's in the south side of Chicago in front of a bridge where you can park and eat since they're not seating anyone inside yet. I was satisfied with my breaded steak sandwich. It definitely got me full. The steak was soft and not crunchy. The steak is marinated in a red gravy sauce and it was delicious. Fries were a bit cold but I didn't really mind since it felt like it was 100 degrees outside. Any other day I'd like my fries fresh and hot . Prices were reasonable too. Service was good too. Waited only 20 to 25 min for my order. Good for me given the fact that they were super busy. Nice hardworking people out in the sun wearing masks and taking proper steps to keep clean and protect each other and customers from covid. Tremendous amount of food for really reasonable prices! Short wait time when we went and that was 530pm on a Friday right before NY Rangers hockey at the United Center. Been a fan forever! Not a recent review but more of a request for a historical photo or two from the shack they used to have before the present building? I have so many fond memories. The old building was cramped, small dining area with tall narrow tables with stools. Just enough room on those tables to jam this always huge sandwich into your gaping maw. Always busy and crowded and I'm sure that added to the craze. Breaded steak with sweet peppers and red gravy. Delicious need I say more? I finally tried their pizza and it was very good as well, but I wouldn't go there for just the pizza! It's a busy joint, lots of cops in and out as we sat. They know the good food joints so I know this place is consistently awesome. Heads up for you ladies though, bathroom is a little cramped. In the interest of full disclosure, I've never actually been IN Ricobene's before, however, my boss, a South sider, had a friend drop him off one of the breaded steak sandwiches at the office. Well, in a bit of good luck, my boss actually cares about his health and fitness and carbs and whatnot, so he passed on the sandwich to me, which I lustily devoured. If you are in Bridgeport and you don't try this place then you are missing out! One of my favorite places to get pizza, hot dogs or burgers. The fries come in a bag and it seems like a bottomless bag of fries which is always a great thing! It's got a giant dining room. You can still find a seat even when a Sox game is going on. Speaking of a Sox game, they let you park in their parking lot if you dine there and they have a shuttle that will take you to the Sox game! Good food and you get to enjoy a baseball game! Wow! Came here on an Uber drivers recommendation and so happy we did! I got the meatball sandwich & hubby got the beef & sausage combo. Both were excellent. Meatball was light and tasty without drowning in sauce. Both the beef and sausage were very good, again tasty and light - which I prefer in Italian cooking. If it's light & tasty then you know they took their time cooking it and (probably) used a family recipe handed down from the old country (speculation on my part). We also split an order of Arancini which was (almost) as good as mommy-in-law's recipe. The surprise was these were made with chicken, mushrooms & Marsala wine, but oh so yummy! Well today I made an encore return to try the Ricobenes famous Breaded Steak Sandwich with Sweet peppers which I asked the server what she recommended. Unfortunately this steak sandwich was nothing I got excited about after tasting it. To me it was a like eating a bland country fried steak dinner from a franchise breakfast restaurant from IHOP or Denny's only it came in a form of a sandwich with tomato sauce. I don't know why "USA today" ranted an article about this as a must try sandwich in Chicago? Well I tried and ate it and I was NOT impressed. I am so glad their daily soup which was minestrone and the onion rings are still delicious. The Minestrone soup tasted very fresh with the vegetables and onion rings are not too greasy or full of batter or flaky like some places that serve such onion rings as sides. Other than that, I would come here every now and then maybe for their fresh soup and onion rings no one can make in Chicago or the suburbs. Visited this establishment for a quick bite to eat after a concert at Soldier Field on a Saturday night. We got there around 10:30. There was no line, but the restaurant had a good amount of patrons in it. The regular size steak sandwich is pretty good sized. It was good, but had a little too much red sauce on it. The fries were okay, needed salt (available for us to put on). There were a lot of small fries that were maybe an inch long. The food was out pretty quickly. I would like to try more of their menu. read more

I love their food. The service is okay. It gets really crowded. The surroundings is good low key lighting to a calming experience.
