My husband called Gillette Ridge several days before Easter 2026 and spoke with General Manager Jordan Stein. We booked a reservation for 7 people. He specifically asked Jordan if we could order from the menu, he said YES. We knew there was an Easter Brunch but were interested in having menu items and he told Jordan that. He said not a problem. Easter arrives. 6 adults and 1 child go into the restaurant. When we were greeted, I asked again if we were able to order off the menu. The host, a blond woman said NO. They were only serving brunch. I told her my husband Nick spoke directly with Jordan when the brunch was booked and he said we could. She went to the kitchen to ask. Upon returning she said, NO. They were only serving brunch. Here we are, 7 hungry people with no other place to go on Easter coming from out of town in 3 cars in the pouring rain. We were put on the spot. I didn't want to cause a problem so we stayed. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! After being seated, we go to get our food. It all looked awful and tasted as bad. Our party and another party of 10 or so were the only ones there. I don't recall seeing any sternos to keep the food warm and no covers. ALL of the food was more than half gone, dried up and barely lukewarm. The pasta dishes were old, sausages were cold, chicken was dried up and cold. What they called ham looked like burnt edge shriveled up deli meat. Salmon was dried up. Potatoes were over cooked, dried up and cold. The pasta salad and the shriveled up caesar salad was at room temperature. There was no 'prime rib'. Our table except me went back 3 times to ask about the prime rib and when were they going to bring more cocktail shrimp? The shrimp seemed to be the only thing people in our party would eat. The prime rib didn't even look like prime rib when it came out. It was burned on top, very well done, tough like shoe leather. Small thin slices about the size of a piece of meatloaf. The corned beef hash was so salty with chunks of fat.I thought an omelette would be safe. Big mistake. Eggs, onions and cheese. Simple right? I had to spit it out. Tasted like I was eating a cup of salt. Plate after plate of uneaten food on our table. I wanted so badly to say something but didn't want to create a problem. A waitress came by once very early on to check on us. Nothing after that. We weren't offered any drinks and only had small kid size plastic cups that were on our table for water. The ENTIRE thing was a complete and epic fail. When my husband initially was talking to Jordan making the reservation, he said that people have left bad reviews on Yelp about their experiences that weren't true. Well Jordan, I hope you read this because this is NOT an untrue review of our experience, it is exactly what happened. NONE of us enjoyed anything except the few shrimp we were able to get and these tiny cheesecakes. Next day Monday, my husband called the Restaurant. No one was available. He called Tuesday and spoke to Jordan telling him EVERYTHING. He said he was sorry. Jordan said they don't do refunds but he would try to see about giving us a tab so that we could come back for menu items. He told Nick he had "higher ups" to speak to, said to give him a couple of days and he would call him back. The end of the week came, no call. 4 more days went by no call. Nick called 4/15 and left him a message. No call back. Nick called 4/17. He wasn't available. This bill with no liquor was $496.00!!! 6 adults at $65.00 each and a 7 year old child who ate a cup of dried up pasta, $30.00. A tip of $72.00, for what I don't know. We never had a waitress except to pick up dishes of food left twice on the next table. PLEASE don't go there for any brunch it's awful. The worse part is the complete lack of professionalism following through with what you said you would do. You initially promised menu options. You're a Manager and didn't know this? If I was your boss and got this scathing review that is the documented truth of all of our experience that day, you would be fired. Customer service and your word matter, not to you I guess Jordan. $496 for food that should have NEVER been served the way it was. At least when you order off menu, you can return your meal to the kitchen. Not an option at a brunch. read more
