What a wonderful experience! The restaurant is a very, quite spacious and very welcoming. It's right next to a lake and so the setting was lovely. We had an indoor/outdoor room with doors that opened to the outside. I had a raspberry lemon martini with a sugared glass rim. Very nicely presented. They have a very varied menu and they also have a large gluten-free menu. We both had the lobster bisque as a starter and then we both ordered the fish tacos. The soup was filled with lots of lobster meat and was delicious. The fish tacos were made with cod and the waiter mentioned that the slaw had some habanero chile in it. I asked if it was spicy and he said it might have a slight kick, but was not spicy. He was absolutely correct and in fact, if he hadn't mentioned the habanero I would not have picked up on it at all. It was really good. If you order bread, (and you have choices on type), you are charged I think a dollar per order, but that is donated to help people who are food challenged. We were full from our dinner, but we could not pass up an order of key lime pie for dessert, which we shared. It was a hard choice because they had a special dessert which was chocolate peanut-butter pie. I wish we could have had both. Their other desserts also sounded great. By the way, a portion of their revenues from desserts are also donated to help those who need food assistance. I was very impressed that they do that. I want to mention that the wait staff was also great. Friendly, attentive, but not over-bearing. I can't say enough about Sweetwster Tavern. It's brewed in big kettles that they will just pour over after you order. There are so many other coffee types I have to come back for. The honeycomb dessert is a must try. There's cheese inside and honey drizzle on top. It's really a new taste for me and I loved it. The staff was very friendly. They are not all from Yemen though. And the aroma of his specific coffee smelled like lavender, saffron and I think vanilla. And the coffee is decadent! This time, he got something a friend of his recommended - the pistachio coffee. I can't have caffeine after noon. And I also have to watch my caffeine intake due to chronic heart problems. I got the hot cocoa. It was meh, honestly. They don't have any decaf tea. Disappointing. I also don't normally go to coffee shops anyway. So I can't fault this place for not having what I would drink. I am not their customer or audience or clientele. Instead, she was told she could only purchase one slice and, when she politely asked where the cake came from, staff refused to share any information. Restaurants are certainly entitled to their policies, but customer service and kindness matter. A simple explanation or a gracious interaction would have gone a long way. Instead, she was treated in a manner that left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed. I sincerely hope that what I can only assume is a $100 cake was worth the lifetime value of the business they are losing from our family of four, our friends and family. I also hope they consider that reviews matter, and people pay attention to how businesses treat people. Great food should be matched with great hospitality. Sadly, today's experience demonstrated that exceptional customer service was not on the menu.

To do this to a bride and then have her continuously email for restitution and provide TERRIBLE communication is a truly awful thing to do. ***DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS*** And in general, their communication is terrible. They don't answer the phone and you have to email 2 or 3 times before they respond. Weddings are already expensive and stressful -- do yourself a favor and don't add to it by using Chantel's Bakery. EDIT AFTER OWNER COMMENT: Chantel's Bakery never reached out to me after the credit card did not go through. Actually, the opposite. I emailed Chantel's two days after the in-person meeting informing them that my credit card had not been charged and asked when it would be. I NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE. It was not until the morning of my wedding did I receive a PayPal invoice, in which was paid within 3 hours of receipt. Maybe a planner would have been helpful in completing additional follow-ups with the business WHICH IS CLEARLY REQUIRED, so that I didn't have to be the one to realize the cake was missing. However, a business should establish some sort of organization that would allow them not to forget an order IN THE FIRST PLACE. The sad fact is that Dennis told me that the error should have never happened it was entirely their fault and he would provide a FULL REFUND which he has failed to do. They may not have time to complete your order or follow through on promises made, but they sure do have time to falsely respond to negative reviews. Again, I repeat DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS.
