I absolutely love this place! The stuff they have is amazing. My dad gets crumb buns every so often and they're always great. When I was younger, I'd always order cupcakes and cakes their for my birthday. They have a lot of options for birthday cakes and birthday cake design. Not only birthday, but all occasions really. In the past year, I developed an intolerance to dairy, so I was really disappointed because I thought I wouldn't be able to find a decent cake. But they have a dairy free section and the chocolate cake that I got was amazing! And even though I'm 20, I'll still make my mom get me an Elmo cookie whenever she goes there. read more

Horrible , I would never recommend anyone here, you would think its a great bakery because of previous reviews and the long history this bakery been around, I purchased Halloween cookies for my sons kindergarten class remind you these are 4-5 year old kids, the cookies look nice the kids was excited to see the cookies and eat them to find out that the cookies had MAGGOTS all over them not was i just embarrassed, hurt , ashamed i cant describe the feeling i had when this happened, immediately, the cookies had to be taken away and returned to this bakery that would sell something like this to a value customer and all they had to say is that it comes in the boxes sometimes , I cant believe this, so if you continue to buy from this bakery please check your items, please I would ever want this to happen to anyone. read more

I'm such a donut lover... and I was told this place might have what I wanted...a fresh baked old school Boston Cream donut with pudding/custard inside. I got exactly that, and took some fruit pastries home with me and I'm still dreaming about their deliciousness. They have a really huge selection of pastries and cookies and donuts. I have been coming here every now and then for their specialty cakes, red velvet, tiramisu and chocolate mouse. They all taste really good and well liked by my friends and families. The staff are friendly and very accommodating for your needs. You can pre-order cakes and pick up the next day just to make sure you'll get what you want because some are not available all the time. It's a little pricey as compared to the commercial cakes from Stop & Shop, Waldbaum or BJ's but it tastes better like fresh off your grandma's oven. I mean, it tastes like made from home. read more

For so long I see them making deliveries to us and even calling to confirm orders so I figured I should give them a try and boy was I happy I did! We are hosting a birthday party for my Sister-in-law tonight and Riesterer's has come through for us! My sister in law's favorite car was a light blue Volkswagen beetle. I found a cookie cutter and asked if they could make favors for our party. I called many bakers and either they couldn't do what I needed or the cost was astronomical. Riesterer's price was reasonable and they did a fantastic job. The cookies look great! We also purchased a seven layer cake for the party. All my guests raved about the cake. I have been a loyal customer for nearly 15 years. The establishment is clean, every employee is polite and helpful, the product is outstanding. Riesterer's selection of cakes, cookies, pastries and breads is phenomenal. Everything is hand crafted and freshly made with care.There is always a wide selection of irresistible treats available when you walk in- and none of them will disappoint. Just beyond delicious. I went in person to this bakery and selected a beautiful cake from their book of designs. I order the exact one my daughter wanted for her birthday. The cake we picked up a few days later looked nothing like what I ordered. My daughter was extremely upset. The bows on top tasted like they were made of cardboard. All of the kids spit them out. It was pretty embarrassing. I will definitely be looking elsewhere the next time I need to order a cake. read more

We have been going to this bakery for as long as I had lived in the area. It's always been a bit pricey but that was overlooked that is until recently. We moved away to NC and a friend asked us to bring her back some Kaiser rolls so I called and ordered them speaking to a very affable person on the phone but when we walked in to pick them up the woman working there glanced up saw us and continued doing what she was doing with never a word of being with us in just a minute or anything, noteworthy also is the fact that the place was totally empty of customers. After about a minute or two of me hovering and looking at her, a gentleman walked in she immediately walked over to him and her exact words were "Can I help you sir" he looked over at me and told her to take care of them first they were here before me. We were speechless at this point never expressing indignation nor resentment, the woman grudgingly came over and attended to us with an attitude. Needless to say was the last time for me. Sad to say this was blatant prejudice and you can guess that we are people of color and the gentleman was not. read more

My Nephew ordered a cake for his daughter first birthday he paid over five hundred dollars for the cake and the bakery did not deliver the cake he had to pick it up well the cake was ruined it was a sham we didn't have a cake to take pictures with his daughter on her first birthday. I just think that if you are selling cakes that are as costly as they are you should deliver and set them up . read more

Bought four brownies in this place. Got home and found the girl put them in a box that didn't fit. She put the two brownies with soft icing on top over the other two like a couple of dominoes. Besides that, the box wasn't high enough so the icing soaked through the top of the box. read more

This is a good bakery in West Hempstead. The chocolate cake here is very good. The big Chocolate Chip Cookie are excellent. The big M&M cookie is also very good. I also like the mini cookies. The doughnuts here are very tasteful. You can get kosher cakes, cookies and other items here. The place is very nice inside. read more
