i went yesterday with my son and ordered chicken pesto and pine nuts. My son ordered a different dish. We also ordered cheesy garlic bread and two desserts and drinks. $83.00 The mgr? served us nicely and was friendly. My son enjoyed his food but as I was eating mine the flavor of the sauce wasn't good at all. I was so disappointed i've had good the past with different people working there. Rigatoni's has been around at least 20+ years and always found it a nice option for quick carb fix. Place is nothing fancy like their sister restaurant, Strizzi's and more casual dining. I've always enjoyed the Rigatoni Bolognese and their take-and-bake options (during the pandemic) along with complimentary bread bar. My recent visit was for the (limited time) Holiday Menu: :: Chicken Dijon - seasoned chicken cutlet tossed in butter, breadcrumbs, parmesan, Dijon sauce with a side of rigatoni bolognese. Chicken was nicely prepared and enjoyed for take out. Rigatoni bolognese could've used more sauce. 3.75/5 :: Seafood Cioppino - bay scallops, shrimp and Manila clams in a spicy red sauce over spaghetti - clams were tiny and hard to find and seemed like a bunch of shells. Some were found in the sauce but hmmm. Flavor-wise it was good, tad sweet with a detectable amt of dry wine. 3.75/5 *** 3.75 - 4 stars *** Overall, dishes enjoyed and would repeat. If you have realistic expectations you'll enjoy their Holiday Specials. Of course, best for dine-in but traveled well for take out. Restaurant is clean and organized, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Pleasantly surprised by this RIGATONIS. This is behind Guns Fishing & other Stuff. Tons of parking .Pretty simple menu- they have fettuccine,Lasagna, tortellini, salads, spaghetti all the Italian staples. Pretty flavorful. Have a two flavor sliced bread bar with butter containers for spreading . The drinks are unlimited but the ice and the root beer was just as tasteful as I'd say a McDonald's beverage machine. No joke. You pay at the counter register then go grab your utensils napkins etc. salt pepper and chili red flakes are already at the tables . The place is never busy and there is plenty of seating . I think the main issue with this place is that the location is pretty hidden. The menu is kid friendly . The spinach tortellini I had was not bad just enough for a filling lazy lunch . Only like 1-2 persons here working here but they were very friendly . The shades are down and make this place look dull , closed and uninviting. However it is open and people still go here. More of a like a family place. Yes I can probably make the entire menu items at home . The meal was like $24 w drink unlimited refills..not expensive but not cheap either. I will definitely try the lasagna or spaghetti next time when I'm craving pasta or Italian . I really hope this place doesn't close up shop. It's a hard pass for me Listen, if you want pasta, you are better off going to Olive Garden or going to an Italian restaurant in your downtown area. This is italian fast food. I had the special Asian Salmon Risotto. The vegetables were fresh and cooked until they were soft but not soggy. The salmon was covered with the Asian sauce. The risotto was lightly seasoned. I watched the chef open a bag of premade sauce. You order at the counter and the cashier brings you your food. Bread and drinks are self service. The cashier was friendly. Our friends really like the fettuccini with shrimp and mushrooms. Located almost under the freeway, it is surprising how quiet it is. The tables are kept clean. By far, the most expensive pasta experience I've ever had. I was overcharged $35 for a single pasta plate -- the food isn't even that great. Do not go here. If you want quality and reasonable prices, I suggest Rigatoni in Castro Valley. The food is better, the staff is very nice, and they're generous with the bread. I only paid $13 there. I will never go to Rigatoni Dublin again. I've never paid $35 for penne pasta in my life, and for Rigatoni standards, this is unacceptable. read more

As many other reviewers have noted, the sauce has changed and it's a shame. The last time I had visited this place was back in 2022, and before that I had enjoyed the cheese raviolis for 20+ years. The sauce used to be cheesy and more orange in color; it tasted completely different (you could practically drink it). The raviolis used to be round and the dish was garnished with chopped tomatoes and more Parmesan cheese. The ONLY thing that kept me away was the prices; they just got more and more ridiculous and out of touch over the years. I have tried a couple other menu items in my 20+ years of eating here but everything else always seemed bland and I eventually came to ONLY order the cheese raviolis and garlic bread. There wouldn't be a drop of sauce left when I was finished. So sad! Please bring back the original cheese raviolis. Looking back, they were worth the price. read more

What I appreciate about them is their semi-service style; you order at the front counter, and they bring your food to the table. The restaurant is clean and organized, creating a relaxing atmosphere. I am once again rating Rigatoni's 1 star because of my experience with the Justin, the general manager. I went there yesterday and ordered a started Caesar Salad and he wanted to charge me an additional 10 cent for extra croutons and 10 cent for a bag. I have been a customer at Rigatoni's for years and I have never been charged extra for croutons or a bag. He told me the state requires them to charge for a bag, but this isn't true according to this information: In California, a fast food bag charge is typically 10 cents per bag due to the state's single-use carryout bag ban, which requires stores to charge a minimum of 10 cents for any paper bag provided at checkout; this applies to fast food restaurants as well. Rigatoni's has plastic bags, not paper bags, so they shouldn't be charging customers. Because I had a problem with him over charging me before, I usually go there on weekends when Justin is off. But he was there on Saturday and Malik and Chloe weren't there and they don't overcharge me. I did not purchase the Caesar Salad because i didn't want to be charged for extra croutons and a bag for my salad. read more

Rigatoni's used to be one of my family's go to restaurants. I haven't been here in a while but I recently went to try it out again. I got here around 6:30pm and the restaurant was pretty busy, but there was a decent amount of tables open. When we sat down at a table we noticed that there was a lingering oder in the back of the restaurant. I have a feeling this smell came from the bathroom, but it made me wonder if possibly the bathroom had not been cleaned recently. Obviously I moved tables because a bad smell would ruin your whole dining experience. I got the Rigatoni Bolognese ($17) and my brother got the Fettuccine Alfredo ($16). This is relatively higher than I remember it once being, so I was expecting a higher quality or bigger portion. There is an open bread counter where you can get unlimited bread, butter, and oil and balsamic. The food came out relatively quick. It was an okay size but the quality is more what I was skeptical about. In my opinion, the sauce for both both meals were watered down and lacked seasoning. It is almost as if they forgot to put the heavy whipping cream in it to actually turn the liquid into a sauce. If I were you I would save your money and go to a restaurant with a higher quality of pasta. read more

Unfortunately, I would never even recommend this food to my worst enemy. If you could take what comes out of your stomach after you're sick and turn it into pasta, that's how it looked, smelled and tasted. Walking in, you place your order at the counter and food will be brought to your table. There's a self serving bread and refreshment counter. Wait person was friendly. The chef delivered my spaghetti and meatball. He circled back later to check my food. With spaghetti and meatball, it's a simple dish and it fit the bill. We've been here twice now and I really like this cute little Italian restaurant. It's just one big room, and you order at the counter, get yourself utensils napkins, bread and fountain soda and then sit down. They bring you your food shortly after. The food is really tasty. I got the cheese ravioli with Alfredo (garlic cream sauce) and it was delicious. I think there were 8-10 ravioli in my bowl, which I thought that was a good amount. They were soft and filled with tons of good cheese. The sauce was nice and thick and went well with the ravs. The one reason there's one star missing is both times we came, it seemed like something was missing or behind schedule in the self serve area, like the bread had ran out or there were no more utensils. We had to ask them to refill both of those and it's quite disruptive having to wait for a fork or when the kids are hungry and screaming for bread. I don't know how long those items were empty, but it seemed like a coincidence that both times we went this was the case, which led me to believe maybe it happens a lot. The other thing is it is a little on the expensive side for basically being self serve and also what you're getting I can't speak for the other menu items, only what I ordered. I ordered the kids meal with spaghetti and meatballs and my son did not like it. So I ate it. 3 meatballs were from a frozen bag, not even tasting as real meat, and another one was a real meatball made from ground beef, not sure what's going on, what is supposed to go with this dish or if they tough because it's a kids meal, we would not notice. Then, not sure why I skipped years until I found myself at Rigatoni's this week. The menu looks different and I found a few things that piqued my interest. The food for me was a little inconsistent as I went back and ordered the same thing and it tasted different then before but overall it was still delicious. They have pasta combo dishes for about $14-- and some even less. I ordered the chicken fettuccine, which was served piping hot in about 5 or 10 minutes. It was a pretty good-sized portion--actually more than I could eat. It was tasty enough, but really just a simple dish, with lots of creamy sauce. Probably not the healthiest dish in the world, but it was tasty. The combo also includes a soda and soup or salad. I ordered the soup of the day, which was served up in about 5 minutes, piping hot. Nothing special really, but tasty enough. The meals include a bread bar, which has either French bread or dark brown bread. They also have quite a good deal on beer for for $5. The salad had crisp lettuce and was perfectly dressed, but the salmon was well done and slightly dry. Portions were generous and too large for lunch. Very disappointing. My first time visit here today. I figured you can't go wrong with basic fettucini alfredo penne pomodoro and meatball sandwich. But apparently you can. The alfredo came half full in its container. I've not tasted it cuz its for my son and he's not back from school yet. But if its anything like the penne pomodoro, then its underflavored. The meat ball sandwich i thought was half portion too. It came in a container where half of it was occupied by a bag of chips. Who does this, or why if not to make it look bigger? I didn't include the pic of the pic cuz by the time I decided to post a review, I had already taken a few bites and didn't want to mislead anyone to think it was smaller only because I took bites out of it. It was small from the start and with just 3 meatballs that were only a little bigger than the ones from ikea/costco (tasted like them too), I had to crush and cut each one to make sure i got a piece in each bite - ate mostly bread though. Look at the container pic and imagine how small it'd be to fit in the space next to the bag of chips. And to add insult to injury, they further cut corners by not including any napkins or utensils. I'd understand if this was take and bake but it was TAKE OUT and TO GO. And no they didn't ask me and I guess I assumed they'd ask. Overall, a solid 4.5 out of 5, hey a birthday coupon brought me into this place. $5 off a meal isn't too bad and boy this brought back memories of when mom and I used to eat here more often waay before Covid. The cashier was patient with me since it's been a day since day I ordered and eaten here. The wait for the food was fairly quick and the chicken Parmesan was definitely a nice treat. The price was a bit high imo but everything is creeping up in prices these days too sadly. The proportion was decent but not huge but the taste and flavors of the pasta and chicken Parmesan was above average. Definitely something to taste if you haven't had this dish in a few years lol. Overall, a nice solid choice for pasta in Dublin imo. We like the food, we come at least 2x a month, unfortunately prices are rising. The owner Can't seem to afford fans. Even if your air conditioning in the building isn't working well, YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY FANS (more than 1) you need at least 3 box fans for customers and 2 for your employees. No excuses read more
