We had a late dinner at Rigazzi's the other night, we stopped in and got some Italian Margaritas, two appetizers (forgot the pictures!) flash fried spinach (fresh!) and the toasted raviolis which are my favorite! Let's start by talking about the old school little Italy Italian charm of this place. Our host was great he got us to a nice cold area (it was really hot out) and made us feel at home. Our waiter was nice and he recommended the chicken spiedini- which we didn't get , but appreciate him recommending his favorite dish! We ordered the Veal Rigazzi's and Cannelloni with white sauce. Our food came out quickly and was hot. Our toasted ravioli appetizer came quick and was piping hot. But, the crust was like biting into a cracker. Our meals came quickly. The food wasn't very hot. My dinner had too much garlic, scallions and red pepper flakes...too many pepper flakes, I couldn't eat my chicken parmesan. My husband got spaghetti and meatballs. His dinner was about the same. While the food could've been better, the atmosphere was awesome. The owners are hands on with the custoners. Our waitress was really good and effient. At any Italian restaurant on the hill, you can expect to find toasted ravioli. It's generally a pretty "safe" option. Ravioli that's been breaded and deep fried and served with marinara. But Rigazzi's doesn't bread theirs, it's just fried. It doesn't look very appetizing and doesn't taste much better. The salad was good though. I'd order that again, only because Rigazzi's is near an antique mall I like to stroll through, so I can place a carry out order while I stroll. read more

Don't Waste your hard earned $$$ with mediocre tasting food and little portions that my 15 yo stated Dominos Pizza had better Pasta. I brought my in-laws, wife and two kids(12 & 15). I ordered the toasted ravioli and flash fried spinach as Appetizers. Drinks were slow in coming. Only toasted ravioli came out and it was HORRIBLE! Look at what we received and what they advertised. It was cold and ends of do was tough. I had to go ask for the fried Spinach and received excuse thought we wanted it with meal. That's BS as ordered as appetizer and finally she apologized forgot to put in order. At least waitress admitted and that happens but don't lie . My wife ordered Tutomare(Fruit of the sea) At $26. Side salad was extra $6. Count how many you see? 3 small clams and very small portion of pasta for $26 look at tbe photo and judge for yourself!!! My 15 year old ordered the pasta with Alfredo and chicken. He barely saw any chicken as did my MIL in hers. In all it was forced gratuity which I don't mind if service and food is good. I thought the food was good although some friends in my group were a little mixed on reviews of quality from previous visits. The server was wonderful, handled a group of eight all with separate bills without issue. We had one person in our group with health issues that needed gluten-free, she asked the server several times if the pizza she ordered truly was gluten-free and she was assured It was, but then did get sick afterwards so it was left uncertain as to whether it truly was. The ambience is true to the St Louis Hill, interior vintage and interesting. Would I return? I wouldn't necessarily seek it out on my own, but would go again with a group of friends if that was the selected place. Kinda basic red sauce Italian. Decent toasted raviolis though not breaded just fried. Veal parm was good pretty much as expected.

The house salad was remarkable! Fresh romaine with green olives that gave it a little kick. Toasted ravioli were a bit different than other STL traditional toasted ravs - these were tiny little pockets of meat which seemed to be deep fried. Yum! The accompanying meat sauce was really spectacular! Tuttomari was less saucy than other STL dishes but had great flavor. Our server, Bex, was so cheerful and attentive! read more

If you're not coming for the fishbowls alone, what are you doinggg. Iconic. So much history in this place. So much character. You could spend hours just inspecting the decor. The food is the only thing keeping me from giving my full five stars, but they've been making some changes to their menu and chefs recently I hear, and each time I've been in here, I've had a better experience. Nevertheless a GREAT spot for drinks and hanging out on the Hill. The new high-top tables near the bar are prime for groups, either sitting or standing, and the patio is a great little vibe outside as well. I got a to-go order here, the food was ready when I got there but I was missing some items so I had to wait for those. I wouldn't recommend to go as they didn't seem to have a very good system for this. I would stop by and have a drink here sometime, but overall the food was pretty average. The spaghetti didn't have enough sauce or flavor, but the meatballs were really good. Not your traditional toasted ravioli with breading, these reminded me of pie crust. Not bad, just different. Was close to the Hill and looking for something to eat with the family. Rigazzi's was one of the few restaurants open for lunch and so glad we stopped by. Rigazzi's is a classic restaurant that serves all the dishes you expect as well as some STL ones we were excited to see. Server was quick to take our order and deliver drinks quickly. The Decor inside of Rigazzi's was pretty cool and provides an intimate and causal dining experience. Food was quick and no issues with seasoning or taste, and reasonable prices. Will be back to Rigazzi's, as Sunday is usually a great time for lunch in the Hill. Give them a try! read more

I came here with a big group for a work dinner. There were a few appetizers ordered for the table; meatballs and their famous fried ravioli and calamari. I did not enjoy the ravioli as I found the meat filling too granular and the sauce way too sweet but the meatballs and calamari were actually very tasty. For my entree I got the cannelloni but again I didn't love the meat filling and the marinara is absurdly sweet. The portion size was so so compared to my fellow diner's portion sizes. The service was actually really good and friendly for our group and I would give her five stars but for the food I can only give it about a 2. read more

We made a reservation for a large group awhile in advance for Father's Day. Unfortunately, we still had to wait outside in the heat for at least 20 minutes. One of the best pastas I've ever had and I'm pretty picky with pasta! First of all, I love that this has a more casual/relaxed vibe compared to other restaurants in the Hill. Parking is easy with a small lot behind and plenty of street parking around the Hill. The inside was spacious with a lot of indoor seating. Came here on a Friday around 5pm and we were seated right away. Service was good and pretty fast. The toasted ravioli and classic wings were good, but the highlight was the salsiccia diavolo! The sauce actually had a spicy kick to it which was perfect (I feel like restaurants don't usually make it that spicy and I have to add crushed red pepper to make it spicier) and ended up tasting even better the next day when I had leftovers. My only recommendation would be to insist on a contract or something in writing when booking - we had a bit of a snafu with the banquet manager, Jeff, a week before the shower that caused a bit of stress. Realized that, even though I am a St Louis native and have lived in Missouri for approximately 35 years (I'm in my mid 60's), I have never eaten at the most famous Hill restaurant. So, that was our choice. We were seated immediately (5:05pm on a Friday, filled up just after we got there). Great server (Brianna if I remember correctly). Cheesy Italian bread came out hot and quickly. Probably best bread of any kind I've ever had, which was kind of a surprise. We were considering several main courses, but both ended up getting Tutto Mare. Daughter got just the standard white wine and roasted garlic sauce, I chose to do half and half with marinara. Both were excellent, though I wish there were a few more clams in it. We were full and declined dessert, but as we were getting ready to pay, the waitress asked the table behind us if they wanted cheesecake or cannolis. Damn it. Now we need cannolis! Very good cannolis (not quite on level with the ones I had in Rome, but definitely respectable for the U.S.). The staff worked as a team to deliver food as soon as it was ready, fill our drinks and remove used dishes. A+ on that. Ambiance was not anything special, but wasn't out of the norm for a neighborhood eatery. Prices were slightly high, but actually on par with the current economy and the added "famousness" of the restaurant. Would definitely return. Maybe with family, friends, out of town guests. Probably not for a business meal or a date. read more

We just stopped in for a few drinks and Bex was our waitress. She is AWESOME!! Such a sweet personality and one of the very best waitresses any of us have ever had. She was the only one covering the floor at the time and she was on it.....with a smile!! She even took the time to go outside with us and take our picture in the arch out front!! Lunch specials are a good value. For one we chose a chicken Caesar salad. It was large but not too large with plenty of chicken. More importantly, it wasn't overly sauced and lettuce was fresh. The other meal was parmaciano with fried broccoli, creamy Italian soup, snd a small house salad. The meat patty had the flavor and consistency of a meatball covered with cheese and a red sauce. The breaded broccoli was overcooked with a light burnt taste. The soup and salad were excellent. Service was a little distant. There wasn 't immediate follow-up after meal delivery, drinks weren't refilled, and I had to ask for the bill. read more

A great place to go if you're wanting pasta on the Hill. I would recommend this place if you're wanting something a little more casual and affordable. They also usually have a short wait for tables because their dining room is so large and service is quick. We got seated after a ten minute wait on a Friday night. I've had great experiences before. This visit the kitchen lost our ticket so we waited an hour for food but the wait staff was nice and gave us a great discount which we were very pleased about. Food was mediocre. Not a bad spot for appetizers and a beer with friends but that is about it. The food isn't bad, but just not great.

A very dear friend of mine and I met after years of separation and slid into one of Bex's booths with ease. She was amazing (and patient) allowing us all the time we needed to have our conversations and catch up. Which we really appreciated. But at the same time, she was super attentive. They have really great gluten-free options, so I was happy to eat there with my celiac and I felt very comfortable to do so. There were big groups, intimate dates and friends in small groups. This place can handle it all. It's a really cool little place in St. Louis and if you're in the mood for Italian food, I feel like this is should be your go-to. Make sure you sit in one of the original Checkerdome seats if you have to wait and get a selfie with Al Capone who is sitting g in the corner . read more

Went at Christmastime 2026. Food was terrible, pasta sitting in a pool of oil. On the menu it said the entree was supposed to come with risotto- when we asked the waitress she said they "took risotto off the menu u because the cooks kept burning it and couldn't learn how to make it". Well it was still on the menu as the "side". Decor and place need a major upgrade- Bathrooms were very poor and smelled sewer-ish. No one eating there under 70 years old. Went there because every other restaurant in the area had a 2 hr wait but here we got right in...should have paid attention to that. It took 1 1/2 hrs to get our food. The bread saved us. This was my first visit to Rigazzi's in about two years. Sadly, I have to say that my experience this time was disappointing. The food seemed to be pre-made, as opposed to being freshly made to order. My Caesar salad was served on a cold plate, which suggests that it was pre-made, and taken out of the fridge. And it was made with iceberg lettuce, instead of the traditional Romaine lettuce, with quite a bit of dressing on top (as opposed to lightly tossing it with the lettuce, which is how it's normally prepared), and croutons off to the side. My entree, and that of my dinner guest, appeared to be reheated. It felt as if we were served leftovers. For dessert, I ordered the New York style cheesecake with a drizzle of strawberry syrup. However, instead of the syrup being lightly drizzled over the cheesecake, it was poured over it. The cheesecake was literally sitting in a pool of syrup on the plate. The service was prompt and friendly, although our appetizer came out after we were already served our entrees. However, our server was nice enough to take the appetizer off our bill for our inconvenience. Overall, though, the food was just OK. It wasn't as good as it was when was I there two years ago. In baseball lexicon, Rigazzi's fast ball has lost quite a bit of velocity. Perhaps it has something to do with the change in ownership that occurred not long after my previous visit. read more
