There was a leak in our dining room ceiling (right where one of the sprinkler heads was located) and we wanted to find out where it was coming from. I first called a fire sprinkler company but was advised, based on my description, that it may be the HVAC. I called our HVAC tech and they said , again based on my description of the issue, it didn't sound like an HVAC problem and that would probably be better off calling a plumber. Went on Yelp on search of a reliable plumber and Righty Tighty was one of those who responded first. The associate I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and asked for my preference as to when a plumber should take a look. I gave my response and she told me what to expect in terms of potential cost of the job. Was given a time fram of 8AM-10AM the next day. Jerry was the plumber they sent out. RT sent a text that a plumber was on the way at around 7:25AM and a little before 8AM, Jerry was here. He was very friendly and told us what he would do in terms of diagnosing the issue. In other words, all cards on the table and no surprises. He was able to find out what the issue was (leak coming from the toilet in the bathroom directly above our dining area) and proceeded to give us options. When we told him the solution we preferred, he went ahead and got the job done quickly. He even offered his direct number, in case we need any plumbing service and assured me that he will get us in the schedule, if that happens. Very good service. I will admit I didnt go shopping around for other plumbers but, I think for the job he did, it was fair. Kitchen sink backed up, right around dinner time. Thought it was kind of odd as we're on septic and we're very careful to not put anything down our drains. After spending some time with a plunger I borrowed a snake from a neighbor. No luck clearing it and after about 3 hours time I decided to call a plumber in the morning. Got on yelp and came across Righty Tighty plumbing and they had mostly great reviews so I called them. They sent Justin out and he arrived about 3 hours later. (The dispatcher had said between 10 and 12 and he got there around 11:10). He took a look at the situation and gave me an estimate. Now I hadn't had a plumber out in many years so I thought the price was a touch high at the time but I really needed help so I agreed. He started working right away but the clog was really stubborn. Justin was determined and after more than 2 hours off hard work it was working perfectly. So remember the part where I said I thought the price was a touch high? Well, they kept to the original estimate and after seeing how hard Justin worked on it and how long it took I think the price was reasonable! He worked hard, was very personable and friendly and took great care to clean up the mess afterwards. I couldn't have asked for more! Drove all night to be there at 8 AM for the appointment. plumber was 2 hours late and angry because there was plenty of work for him. I needed leak detection. He asked me where the leak was located. . . hmmm... He said I would need to remove all my furniture so he could listen to the walls. The plumbing, however, is located in only 2 areas of the house - without furniture. I thought he could change out a tank kit on 2 toilets, but he said it was not worth his time and that I would need new toilets. Sorry, no. I was not charged for the service call and should not have been since the plumber did not do anything except project attitude. It wasted my time because I had to line up another plumber - actually a handyman who can install a tank kit in less than half hour. read more
