Recently came here for dinner for the first time since they remodeled everything, and I'm quite impressed. We opted for take out empanadas, however they also have a full sit down restaurant as well. We got 12 empanadas for $25; a mixture of beef, chicken, spinach + cheese, Bleu cheese and cheese + onion. Each one tasted fresh, with the ingredients full flavored and the dough with just the right amount of slight crispyness. They also don't skimp on the fillings, each empanada had quite a bit of heft to it! My favorite was the spinach and ricotta cheese, which was overflowing with cheesy goodness, set off perfectly by the spinach flavor. I'll definitely be back for more! There is a wonderful variety of chicken, beef, and cheese empanadas. I was surprised.. but the cheese empanadas were my favorite... I haven't had the opportunity to have blue cheese melted in a soft flaky pastry.. but it tasted great! I came here with my grandparents, because they wanted empanadas this place came up and we decided to go. My first impression was good the place looked very well put together and we were attended quickly. The interior was very nice it had a small pizza shop vibe too it. Being that they sell pizza it seems appropriate. We ordered an assortment of empanadas chicken, beef, spinach, ham and cheese, and eggplant. As well as the empanadas we ordered a calzone. It was about a 20 min wait which was pretty good considering the amount of food we ordered, there was 7 of us. The first thing I tried was the beef empanada which had some flavor but wasn't what I was thinking of when I thought of a beef empanada. It was flavorful but the outside was not fried and it was a bit dry. The calzone was large about the size of a pizza and it was the best thing we ordered. It had fresh tomatoes and the bread was cooked perfectly. Overall the food was alright there wasn't anything that stood out to me. service is 5 stars they attended us quickly and food was out 15 min after ordering. Waiter was very nice as well The food is 2 stars although it wasn't bad it also wasn't good. Nothing was exceptional. The empanadas without any cheese in the fillings could definitely use a sauce but every single option is generously filled and great quality ingredients used. The empanadas also reheats beautifully in my oven/toaster oven. My favorite is definitely the bacon and prunes. I love the hit of saltiness from the bacon, contrasted with the sweetness of the prunes, and all joined together by the gooey melted mozzarella. Caprese is my second favorite. However I don't love the ham & cheese empanadas. The tomatoes and basil in the caprese definitely elevates this usual combination of ham and cheese. Rika's empanadas are pretty standard, but cheaper than most places. I am glad they bake their empanadas rather than fry them. I also found the Saltenas to have too much cumin or oregano and it was all I could taste. I recommend Rika's because it's a pleasant and clean store and the people working are nice and attentive. I have been going to Rika's for about 3 years or so. Absolutely smashing Empanadas! I like to order 2 dozen for parties or family functions and they're always a hit! My favorite is the Blue Cheese Empanada, but all of them are excellent. I haven't yet tried the Argentine Pizzas, but they look very tasty as well. Great establishment. Very nice establishment. They added a nice sized dinning area awhile ago. You cannot imagine how great looking inside from outside. In the AM, the crepes and empanadas are the main things. There are nice pastries and croissants were very tasty. Their crepes are very big so you get full! I like their savory crepes. My favorite is curry Crepe. It's not strong curry taste but it has a hint of curry flavor with cream sauce. Empanadas are all good!! I like their chicken empanadas the best. Pizzas are available from 11am. I found Rikas on yelp and upon reading some reviews I was excited to try the found. I love empanadas specially from south America. Rikas has about 8-10 different empandas you can order from. We ordered one of each, a pepperoni pizza, and a milnesa sandwich and a skirt steak sandwich. What I didn't know is that argentine food has a Italian influence and pizza is quite popular out there. All the empanadas are oven baked and were really fresh! Like fresh out the oven my wife bit into the cheese empanada and got served! LOL There were extremely crispy and well-made I enjoyed the spicy beef empanada. I think it would benefit Rikas to offer at least one empanada deep fried, although a less healthy choice, deep fried argentine empanadas are out of this world. The milanesa sandwich was a huge portion and it was well cooked. The breading was distributed evenly and not greasy at all. I would highly recommend. We ended up purchasing some pastries to go! The mixture of bacon and prune, savoy and sweet were so good. If you are not big fan of Blue Cheese...avoid this one..way too strong the blue cheese for my liking. Ricotta Cheese and spinach too!!! If you are not big fan of ricotta cheese...skip this one as well. for Pizza, we had #10 Muzarella y Morrones, mozzarella cheese, roasted peppers and olives. It was suggested by the waitress that it's one of their popular item. However the pizza has way more cheese on it so I did not like it much. Roasted pepper were delicious but the whole pizza was made of just peppers and olives was slightly too plain for my liking. Tucked away in Glendora just South of Foothill Blvd. is an empanada and pizza place that pumps out all sorts of pastries and goodies Argentine style. We did a quick Yelp search and happened upon the spot after watching the CA Amgen Tour go through the area and stopped in to grab a drink and a quick bite.
