First, let me preface this review with we went here thinking it was still some version of the Hacienda. It is not. It changed AGAIN. The new menu has full on identity crisis and a bit confusing. Love Riley's on Sutter...one of our favorite spots to relax, knowing the food will be perfect. Our favorite is the Spartan flatbread pizza...more than enough for two. Mike, the owner, knows how to run restaurants; and we are thrilled he took over the old Hacienda building. The patio, as everyone knows by now, overlooks busy Sutter Street; so it makes for a fun evening. We will return, obviously. read more

It was my first time at Riley's along with my daughter(8yo) and my mother and we were so impressed with everything. The food was SO good! The ahi poke bowl on happy hour was so yummy I wanted to lick the bowl when I was done. It was also a steal for the happy hour price, it came with a decent amount. Kim was our server and she was so sweet and intuitive. Perfect level of friendly and engaged, but still gave you your space to eat and visit with who you came with. It's wild what impact the server's energy has on your overall experience. Can either make it or break it. It was about 100 degrees out but with the misters on we were able to sit on the patio comfortably and not feel like we were getting soaked in a rainforest. Place was busy on a Saturday. Patio packed so sat inside. Service was ok. Pleasant but didn't check back frequently. Quesadilla was good. Philly cheesesteak had good flavor but the bun was soggy. Will gove another shot though. read more

We tried Riley's for the first time Saturday night. Kim took great care of us and she had great food recommendations. Our meal was delicious. Everything she recommended was wonderful. She highly recommended their burgers and we also tried the fried chicken sandwich. It was so juicy and the burger was fantastic. The cocktails are really fun. I had the Nutty Professor. Delicious! It also had a dried edible slice of pineapple on top. It r asted like a yummy gummy. Also, their Caesar salad was very fresh with crispy lettuce and the sweet potato fries were off the charts, crispy on the outside, tender in the middle and perfectly seasoned. read more

My wife and I visited Riley's for the first time on a sunny Friday for lunch. We sat on the patio and had a wonderful time. The server was friendly and helpful!! I ordered the Riley burger with tarot tots and both were delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly and was not over powered by the sauce; the veggies and bun were fresh. The tator tots were great too, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. My wife had the carnitas tacos with chips and salsa and loved them as well. A bonus: they have a variety of non-alcoholic beers, which was a wonderful surprise and much appreciated!! We will definitely go again!! read more

We had an impromptu date night without kids and decided to give Riley's a try, the food was delicious. We had chicken wings for an appetizer, which were big and crispy. For dinner we had the En Fuego burger and shrimp tacos, both of which were delicious. I was very glad our sweet server Cheryl (I think) recommended trying the sauce on the side, the favor was amazing but very spicy! Cheryl was a great waitress and we look forward to coming back! Was here the night of the Christmas Tree lighting in at the Round Table. Was told a 40 minute wait, ended up being about 25 minutes. The restaurant was busy, but our server was busting her butt, and was very attentive. Drinks from the bar came out quickly. The food was top notch. Had the Italian sandwich and wife had the Cheesesteak. Fries were delicious, but the only thing I'd say is, less salt on the fries, they are good without it. Thank you for a great dinner! read more

Arrived shortly before 8 pm on a Tuesday evening. 6 of us were crammed into a circular booth better designed for 4-5 adults. We waited quite a long time for someone to take our drink order and then another long time for those to be served. I will acknowledge that the Cadillac margarita I ordered was very good. As far as the food we ordered, I can only speak for myself and my husband. As he put it, his "brat sliders were nothing to write home about". I ordered the Southern fried chicken salad and requested NO onions. When our food arrived, my salad was piled so high in a round bowl with a small base that it was practically overflowing...and it was loaded with the unwanted onions. I gave up trying to cut the chicken into bite size pieces for fear that I was going to tip the entire contents of the bowl onto the table. The honey mustard dressing was served on the side so it was a challenge trying to get it distributed beyond the topmost layer of lettuce. I ended up taking my salad home in a box, picking out the onion that I'd asked to be omitted, and tossing the rest with some honey mustard dressing that I had in the fridge. Just what I wanted to do -- remake and eat my $19 salad at home. Disappointing, to say the least. read more

I decided to log on to my Yelp to give my server and this restaurant a well deserved shout out. Kim was amazing. Its not often when you get a funny server. The young girl who sat us was on top of the water refills. Really great service! We ordered the kickin chicken flatbread which was recommended by Kim and she wasn't wrong. The flavor was on point. We also played it safe and ordered the Birria tacos but after seeing a burger pass by we realized we should of listened to Kim on her burger recommendation. Next time! I am very picky about my margaritas and Riley's house margarita is just so refreshingly good. Not too sweet not too citrusy. So good! For our second round we got the Curious George and Historic District both of which were phenomenal, also a recommendation. You just cannot beat the patio at this restaurant. It's just so good. It's fun when it's busy too! The music selection was superb. Kim mentioned that the owner just obtained their entertainment license so I'm very excited to see what this place has in store for this community.
