This restaurant doesn't look like much, and it's not very near the actual beach, but it really has great halibut fish & chips! Much better than the fancy places nearer to the beach, and they were only $10.95 for a large platter, which comes with salad or cole slaw and a huge pile of fries. Perfect beach town breakfast spot. Nothing fancy but good old fashion food with very fast service. I think our meals came in under 8 minutes. (Denver omlettes, hashbrowns, toast) We were shocked. THey were delicious. Someone who doesn't care for onions might have been disappointed because it was LOADED with diced onions. Tastey though, I'd suggest a tad less onions and a tad more cheese. First red flag...line out the door, but they are not taking names to determine order of arrival? We felt invisible in this place. Table of five. They brought two place settings!? No water, no menus, and one and a half cups (they ran out of coffee upon pouring other cup!) of coffee within 30 minutes of sitting in one of their booths. Were they busy? Sure. But, c'mon. If you can't handle having a full restaurant in a tourist town, you shouldn't be in the business. We left cash for the pathetic two cups of coffee (one that didn't even get filled all the way) and walked out of the restaurant after 40 minutes since no one had even been to our table to take our orders. Eating off the beaten path is quite worth it here. The halibut fish & chips is very good and if you order the taco salad, two can share! Top off your meal with a slice of pie or the amazing strawberry shortcake. The atmosphere is comparable to a Denny's or Shari's but the food is very good and you won't spend quite as much as in the main trafficked areas. read more

This is our traditional "hair of the dog" spot, the bar service is friendly and full of awesome locals. The food that we tried was decent. I did not think it was special in anyway, but my party of six was not disappointed by any means. They are good for groups and the food came up quickly and hot! I was honestly surprised by this place when my husband and I stopped in. We looked for somewhere a little farther from the main street of stores because of how busy everything was. We got the clam strips meal which came with A LOT of food. Fried clam strips, french bread, coleslaw and fries! I paid about $13 including tip and we split that one meal and it filled us both. Staff was great and always had our waters filled. Only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is curb appeal. The restaurant both inside and outside are not the best... Definitely need some updating. A little dingy and we honestly were worried about the food because of how the place looked. We took the dive and it was good enough that we'd come back again! read more

We stopped by on our way home. The service was really friendly, our waitress accommodated me to an ice coffee. She brought my 2 year old her orange juice in a coffee cup and straw. Very helpful with the little one. Food was great. I look forward to coming here again. read more

Very good food! Had a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. Wanted pie and ice cream but they were out of ice cream (?).

The service was prompt and friendly. They allowed us to substitute a garden salad for the coleslaw on the special. The portions were incredibly generous, although they charged me for a whole order of ribs when I had ordered a half. I was also shocked to find the potatoes were instant. The ribs were good but the sauce was clearly only heated by the meat. If you are a volume eater, this would be a great place. You wont leave hungry. Though a more discerning palate may choose to go elsewhere. Breakfast may be better. read more

Great place to get breakfast. Waitress was very friendly and made sure coffee and water stayed full. Food was made perfect. I ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was actually cooked medium rare, which as active knows didn't answers happen. Where were made over easy and perfect. My wife had biscuits and gravy and she said the biscuits are home made and the gravy and biscuits tasted again. My son ordered pancakes and bacon and he was happy. The service was very fast. Awful, several of us ordered dinners of grilled chicken ( pressed chicken meat patty fried on a grill) mash potato (instant, and not the good kind, the really bad kind) this restaurant would not substitute baked potaoes, even though they offered them. The frozen carrots were ok, and all for $9 save your money just buy a crappy frozen dinner for a buck and undercook it! Waitress was super nice I could tell she didn't like what she served either and if it wasn't for absolutely fantastic personality, I really would of ratcheted walk out than eat the meal I was served! read more

We have always gone to Pig 'N Pancake when we come to Seaside but we will never make that mistake again. We spoke to a few locals that told us to come to Riley's for breakfast and any other meal. We left PNP after being treated so horrible and came to this sweet little restaurant. We were treated with smiles and a wonderful host and a darling waitress. Our food was absolutely delicious and served quickly. These sweet people went out of their way to make our experience wonderful! We will always visit this little restaurant over and again!! read more

Riley's was recommended by a local restaurant owner! It was delicious!! I had the ribeye steak sandwich with onions...yum!! My husband had the fish and chips...equally yum!! It is definitely a locals restaurant without all the hub-bub of a tourist trap. I highly recommend Riley's if you are looking for good food at a reasonable price. So happy we came here! read more

My girlfriend and I picked this place for breakfast because it had a four star rating. Why it has a four star rating is beyond me. The food, while edible and at least inoffensive, is decidedly below average. The bacon is thin and low quality, like you might find in a pack of cheapo Safeway store brand bacon. The sausages were likewise no better than budget store-bought breakfast links. I definitely don't like the way they scramble their eggs here... Instead of light, fluffy chunks of egg they cook a sheet of egg until it gets rubbery and then chop it up into little bits. The biscuits and gravy were the highlight, but that's not saying much. The biscuits had, like the bacon and sausage, that bland, unexciting, store-bought quality to them and the gravy likewise was pretty standard. All in all food matched with the cheap, boring aesthetic of the restaurant itself. On a positive note the service was at least pleasant, attentive, and fast. read more

This place was disgusting and gross. I ordered the open face rib eye sandwich and the rib eye was pure fat and gristle when I told the waitress about it she blamed it on their meat supplier. My friend got the french dip and her roast beef was so old and dried out it was falling apart. Her au jus was also very salty. I see everyone on here that likes this place either ordered the breakfast or the frozen halibut that was deep fried. Oh and that reminds me, my friends onion rings she got with the french dip were still doughy inside and smelled like fish. Eat here at your own risk should be on their front door. read more

I wish there was an option for zero stars... I've actually been there plenty of times and the food was great. Loved the place and it became a staple for our beach trips to eat breakfast at Riley's. However, this will no longer be the case. I'm not sure what the case was, if new cook, new ownership, total system failure in the kitchen? However, our meals came and the two I was with could hardly stomach their food. One was the Captain's Platter, but hey, seafood can go either way pretty easily. The other ordered a burger and onion rings. Burgers are hard to mess up. But I figured he was just being picky. I ordered French Toast and gobbled mine down with eggs and sausage. Everything appeared fine. 4 hours later I was sick to my stomach. Couldn't even sit up and had to lay in the backseat of our car on the ride home. Got home and proceeded to vomit up the only thing I had eaten that day; my breakfast. Not going to go into further details, but it was a very classic case of food poisoning.
