Went here for lunch with some coworkers despite my adamant protests against it. I ordered the fish and chips and got 2 pieces of battered cod and a handful of french fries for $13. The two other guys got chicken strips which had 3 small strips and a handful of fries and the chicken sandwich, which actually looked pretty good. Went here a few times with friends and I find it super underrated! Across the way, Henry's is taking a lot of business. We tried to go there for the national championship game but it was just too packed. We headed over to Ringo's and there was plenty of room! Plus, tons of TVs, no underage annoying kids, good food and drinks! Also, our waitress was super nice and attentive. I'm a fan of bars, and have work in the alcohol industry not too long ago. I'm VERY picky about my watering holes. Ringo's Pub has the making of a fantastic experience, but falls just short of my pretentious expectations. Stay with me on this first experience, this is what REALLY happened. I was joining a group for an ill-organized Zombie Pub Crawl for the Shops of Legacy. We had fun, and Ringo's was the last place we hit. I had never been there before, and frequent the Gingerman more often, but I'm game for a new pub. I liked the outdoor patio, it's blocked off so people passing by don't cut through the Ringo's crowd. That's about where the pub loses my interests. I DO NOT like crowded bars. The walk way, from the surrounding parking lots and garage, up to the door is narrow. Who ever thought of putting benches there is a moron. Benches = Sitting. When the area is that narrow, a bench is just a knocked knee from a fight. I almost felt as if I was fighting to get to the front of the stage at a concert, and getting the bar was the same way. Once inside I saw the openness of the bar itself, even though the crowd was...well crowding it up. I don't like being constantly bumped by people while being social with my friends. Also, this usually results in loss off beverage. If I wanted to get that close to people I don't know I'd go to uptown. The crowd is VERY much the usual drinking bunch; mostly Ed Hardy, Affliction, and Frat Boy types. Not my crowd, especially since I don't drink piss beer. The second time, which was just this past weekend, was a slightly better experience. Less crowded, still von douche-a-licious. I do feel places usually need a second chance. I have to say that I'm STILL not impressed. Honestly, I won't go back. I don't like that crowd. It's poorly laid out, and with the Gingerman just on the other side of the garage...it's worth the exercise to go to a better bar. I prefer a bar to drink at, not a bar to be seen at. read more

Went for the first time on a Saturday night, gatta say I wasn't impressed. Besides the fact that there wasn't one decently cute guy in the whole place, it was hard to get a drink at the bar. I'm very happy to see some laid back bars open up at the Shops at Legacy. Cougar central made other spots at the Shops uninhabitable. (wait a second...I like cougars...scratch that comment) Ok, douchebag central, not cougar central. Better. The things truly missing from the Shops were laid back bars. With the opening of Gordon B's, Gingerman, and Ringo's, it's finally able to capture some of the laid back crowd back from having to drive all the way downtown. Ringo's has been open for less than a year. A British pub, it sports beers from overseas like Guinness, Smithwicks, Bass, Boddingtons, Carlsberg, Stella, among many others. It's beer selection doesn't quite rival that of The Londoner - but it works well enough for me. It also has an excellent bottle selection. The food menu has the fairly typical pub selection of food, but is surprisingly good. I really do think pubs like Ringo's and Gingerman have strived to actually make an edible menu, sober or not. Not for those watching their weight, but you wouldn't be coming here if you were. Patio area is somewhat typical Plano drab - a few benches and umbrellas to keep the sun off. Patio is somewhat small but it's meant to occupy what little space there is that's available. The inside bar area is fairly small - again, a limitation of being in the Shops in Plano. A weekday night isn't a problem, but a Friday/Saturday night gets crowded and hard to move around. One fun perk good in groups or for a date if you so happened to take one there is the board games - they have a small selection of games from Jenga, Connect Four, etc to pass the time while you enjoy a brew. Great laid back bar...good for off-peak hours when you just want to have a nice beer. read more

I'm just baffled! Super rude staff in this place. Maybe they need some Christmas cheer or something. So it's closing time, I get it, u wanna go home. 1:43 is what my watch says, last call bell, good thing my beer is full. 1:50, they are yelling "2 minutes to drink 'em up" ok I can handle this Guinness in 2 minutes, no problem. Then they start yelling more and being rude to everyone, telling them to "get the f out, bar is closed". At this point it's 1:55. Ok that's ridiculous, I work in service industry, I work in a bar, u don't have to b rude. I guess in all it doesn't matter cause douche bags will always come here, so the staff can always be rude! Great spot! They have awesome weekly specials, however the Fish and Chips/Imported UK Brew night is where the money is. It's definitely a typical pub, however the 'real ticket' is whether the food and brew is better than average, and it certainly is. The only real bummer is the interior seating layout is small and can get overly crowded. read more

If Ringo's were in Richardson, where there are no actual pubs, i'd give it more stars... but one is a few miles from much much better. My complaint lies largely with the food. I could live off pub grub. I've tried. I love it. But a $1.99 up-charge for maybe the worst, most bland onion rings i've ever had is irritating. I've had the Fillmore's onion rings. i know good onion rings. I had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. sure, it filled me up, but i'd have loved a little flavor to go with it. horrible. just horrible. A buddy had the Ringo's burger - brat sliced and put on the burger, with white queso and an afore mentioned horrible onion ring. he said it was fine. And another buddy had the beefeater, which was also "just fine." So keep driving, Plano... go SE to the Fillmore or Vickery Park, or a little further north to the Irish Rover, or a little NE to the Holy Grail... but keep driving. Unless you want to sit on a patio park bench and sip a pint. then it's fine. But sorry Ringo's, just like the Beatles, you are the lesser of the N. Dallas pubs (rim shot!). read more

Even though this is not really my scene, they do have a large selection of beer. I am not a beer drinker, but I do drink lambic, and they have it here. I would say this is a good place to go with friends after work. It does get a little crowded, but the crowd is always cool. The bathrooms are clean too. read more

I've been to Ringo's twice now. It's definitely different from your typical Shops of Legacy restaurant or bar. The kitchen wasn't open yet, so I can't comment on the food. However, the reason to go there is the beer. Sure, you can still order Bud Light or Miller Lite if you really want to, but with such great beers as Young's Double Chocolate Stout or Samuel Smith's Organic Lager available, why would you? The atmosphere at Ringo's is very British Pub-esque. The owners say Ringo's is a "Talking Bar", so the music is kept rather low. You can actually hear what your friends are saying without yelling. Another plus is that there is no smoking allowed inside the pub. So, if you are only stopping in for 1 or 2 beers after work, you can actually leave there without smelling like an ash tray. read more

Our group of 40 +/- contacted this place days before to make sure we would/could be accommodated in regards to a watching party for an FC Dallas (away) game, to include having audio of the game heard. We were assured that we would have sound, but the juke box being played by a minority of patrons was apparently more important. As I said, the service rapidly deteriorated and at half time, a number of our group left very dissatisfied. As the second half started, we asked for our check and it took about 20 minutes to receive, at which point we watched the rest of the game... still with juke box blaring. On that note, half the time, with the music was loud, it was hardly listenable, as the crowd was even louder. Listen Ringo's, if you're going to promise something, deliver. That is a note on your next watching party you host. Those people are going to be paying good hard money, and the game won't be all night - turn the music on as half-time, end of quarter, etc. I say those people, because we will not return - watching party or no. The Shop at Legacy has been a favorite of mine for awhile; great restaurants, good places to grab a cocktail and the whole area has a great feel to it. However, the area has been lacking a bar...just a bar! A place to grab a beer and some pub grub. Well Ringo's Pub turns out to be just that. It can be hard to find since it is on the back side of the shops behind Robb & Stucky's, but that gave it more of a neighborhood bar feel. From the front entrance, the patio and the inside, it is all very welcoming with street lamps on the patio and a traditional swinging pub sign above the door. The inside is decked out with small pub tables, a dark wood bar, dart board and jukebox. The crowd is younger and friendlier than your typical cougar filled north Plano watering hole. It is a fun and friendly atmosphere with good service. The food menu looked pretty decent but we were there for the drinks and they have a great beer selection. You can get your cold and domestics here but they have great beers from around the world. We'll definitely be back. read more

This place is rather quiet on Sunday afternoons. I'm fine with that since they have such a great selection of beers. There are other places nearby that get overly crowded so this is a good place to escape. Although they have decent food here, it isn't a place that parents bring their kids to which makes it an even better place to escape. Our bartender was so sweet and knew a lot about the beers they serve. This is one of the few places around town that serves Hoegaarden so we will be returning here often. There is NOWHERE for 11 people to sit or congregate together (not even standing near the bar which with 11 people we would have been fine with) we ended up 6 sitting at a table built for 4 with 5 of us standing. Going outside where we could have actually sat with 11 wasn't an option because there were no tables at all. The drinks were slow and the waitress slower. We will not be coming back again. Ah, le pub. Went to Ringo's for a recent HH with a friend. One of those picture-perfect October late afternoons that REQUIRED sitting on the patio. Problem with this approach (even with very sparse crowd) is the very inconsistent service. Had to go to the bar twice (of three needed visits) to flag-down miss chatty, who was having a grand time yukking it up with other patrons....that's fine and dandy, just spread the love a little; deal? I'm a very non-chugging customer, so I'll point the timing blame on our quite social buy not very efficient server. Didn't have time to try out the pub-grub, so this is one of those drinkin' reviews. Wow, the reviews on Ringo's are all over the place Well I'm a fan and I've been here tons of times. I have to admit I live in the shops so that's almost a guaranteed star just to be within walking (stumbling) distance of this bar. I much prefer Ringo over gingerman (round the corner) mainly because Ringo also has a wicked beer list (kudos for just adding a sour beer which Gingerman is still lacking). However Ringo also has liquor so it wins out over gingerman just for variety. Ringo does get crowded on the weekends and these a missing star on my review for less than stellar food. However this is a pseudo English pub and so the food is as such. No bad-not amazing (actually just like uk pub grub) Whenever I've been there the service has been fine...what you'd expect in a crowded pub. On quieter week nights the service is of course better but as I said this gets packed on a weekend and the waitresses can only cover so much ground I've never had any rude service here as is mentioned in the other reviews If you follow Ringo on facebook you'll get to see all the bands and events they have. Halloween and st Patrick's are awesome...they close off the whole car park between scruffy Duffies and Ringo and have bands/Djs. Otherwise they will often have live (chill) music on their patio but I guess follow them to see when and what will be playing. read more

Ringo's Pub rocks! The bartenders (Danae, Selina, Blair, Max, and Melanie) are dope! The cocktails are doper (Rai, Ray, Jess, Liz, Sarah, Holly)! The crowd is a mixed bag of young and older, but no Affliction beefcakes or Ed Hardy douchebags (go to Zen Austin Ranch for that), though there is an occasional siting! The pub is tucked away in Legacy so not everyone knows about it (stay that way!). The beer selection is good, the food is typical bar food ~ a local "dive" bar with a cool chill vibe! My #1 water hole in Plano! ...Oh and stay out of the VIP section in the corner next to the sound box. That spot is reserved for the MBR crew! read more

I have been to Ringo's a few times and I have never been really impressed. It was not until this last weekend where I will never go back. At any bar, you will have issues from time to time with extra drinks on your tab but at Ringo's it's every time. We had a group of about 15 people and we all got our tabs and most had issues. I had two extra drinks on my tab and when I questioned the wait staff about it, I was told I was lying. I paid and tipped (even though she called me a liar and I paid for extra drinks) and what happens, she adds on additional drinks to my tab after I leave and charges them to my card. She did this to not only my tab but multiple others in our group. NOTE: I have already contacted management to see if they will correct this issue with our tabs. I hope that they do correct the issue but the service that we received that night was horrible. On a positive note, their cheese fries are the bomb and their mac and cheese is great too. read more

Our server name "TAYLOR" stated the reason why her energy and service was bad is because she just got in from Vegas @ 3AM. We ordered drinks and "never" got them. Met a friend for drinks and picked Ringo's because I saw it had patio seating. There were multiple occupied tables on the patio but no wait staff. A waitress finally started waiting on tables later in the night but ignored my table until we were about to leave. I had to keep running to the bar and waiting for the bartender to get drinks/food. I'd try Ringo's again but I think they need to up their customer service and maybe add a bartender because one wasn't cutting it. Another oddity is they have a jukebox and someone kept playing Kenny G Christmas music and 311 repeatedly. read more

Well, I just found another beer to add to my favorites list at this bar. Samuel Smith's Chocolate Stout. Damn tasty!!! As for the food, nothing stellar. Your regular put grub. It will taste good after 3-4 beers, I promise. If eaten sober, it will be filling. Service is pretty good, but then again, I've only been here on weeknights. I don't know how the bartenders remember your name and drink after only a couple of visits but they do. I must be honest and say that I'm not a fan. We do go there a lot because many of my friends like Ringo due to their vast beer selection, but I must say there are other near by places with good beer selection as well. The reason, I'm not a fan, which will make me sound like an old fart, but it's too loud. The atmosphere is a pub, with tables for you to sit and catch up with your friends, but I can never hear anything! The music is loud and club-like but the set up is chill. It's your typical pub TBH. Service can be hit or miss even on a weeknight. I used to hit up this place lots with my running buds in Plano for drinks after a social run. Lots of beer options and the bartender and waitresses are good at making recommendations if you give them a general idea of what beers you like. They have a nice "rotating tap" too, so the menu doesn't really list the best options. I spent about 10 minutes waiting to be helped for a drink at the bar while the bartender had a personal conversation with someone right next to me. I think its a cool place to come to, especially if you live in or close to the Shops. It's nowhere to drive a far distance to come and visit though. Good place for bar food and beer. It can get loud, and it's pretty dark. Your eyes have to adjust when you walk in and out of the restrooms because the dining area is super dim whereas the restrooms are like daylight. Haha. It's pub by day and then turns into a hopping little joint at night. I was a little pissed they took away my stool at the bar as I had been sitting there boozing it up with a friend for several hours. The heels I was wearing were not made for standing! Just sitting and looking cute. I know, my fault. Drinks are poured and priced fairly. If you're into soccer this place will definitely have the match on. This is a pretty busy place on a Saturday, but we were still able to snag a table to eat. I had a very tasty salad for bar food. I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients. The staff all seemed happy to be working and checked back often for more drinks. It is pretty dark inside to give it more of a tavern/pub feel. We bar hopped in the Legacy Town Center area and tried this place out for the first time and really enjoyed it. We had already been to several places by the time we arrived so my husband enjoyed a Strongbow and I stuck to soda but I did order a pretty good $5 pretzel (their name). After I scraped off most of the salt it was pretty good with the queso dip but the 'spicy mustard' tasted more like buffalo wing sauce - not good with a pretzel. The atmosphere was everything you'd expect in a pub - dark wood bar, tables and chairs, some live music outdoors on the patio and friendly wait staff. It's a casual seat-yourself kind of place which I liked. We'll definitely go back when the weather cools off - too hot for the patio. read more

VERY HAPPY to see bars/pubs like this popping up in well established areas like The Shops @ Legacy. Ringo's is tucked away from the main strip of bars and restaurants and is located behind The Angelika Theater. The large patio is somewhat inviting with several picnic tables and umbrellas if you find yourself under the Texas sun. It's when you get inside you find out what your friends have been telling you about. It is by no means large, but if a bar had to be a perfect size...this would be it. It's cozy but not cramped. Tuesdays is trivia night and Wednesdays I believe is live music. Thursday through Saturday.....the jukebox does the work. I would suggest getting there before 830 if you want a chance to get a table or at least a good place to stand. This place is packed by 10pm. 70 beers to choose from and of course, a full-bar is available. The staff is quick and polite and will suggest beers suited to your taste. We were carded at the door by a sharp-dressed guy. He was patient as he explained to us why we were carded. Ringo's is a "private club". Anyone over 21 can enjoy but all you have to do is have your ID scanned and sign this little piece of paper so you can become a member. Bottom line: Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission requires some places to do this. Overall, I would recommend Ringo's to anyone wanting to get away from the "See and be seen" crowd. Cheers! read more
