We came for dinner and it was my first time visiting this steakhouse. It's an all you can eat price per person. They come around with different cuts of meat and serve you. There is also an all you can eat self serve sides bar with salad and carbs. The salad bar was nothing special and everything else was quite bland. I couldn't tell if the cuts they serve weren't great because the outside where they cut you pieces were really well done and tough. I asked for them to cut red pieces but they would only cut me the edges that were too tough. The chicken and grilled pineapples were amazing but for the price I don't think I'd come back. If you like your steak any other way than well done, I'd go to a place where you can order it done to your liking. read more

Went here tonight, and happy to report that all the negative reviews that seem to be from a couple years ago are no longer accurate. They've recently moved to further up Denman, not sure if the owners have changed, but I couldn't say anything negative about this place at all! From the moment you walk in (it's up the stairs, unsure if there's an elevator) it's absolutely beautiful. The hostess/manager is very warm and welcoming. The space itself is quite cute and would be suitable for a special occasion as well. Their all you can eat dinner is only $50!! It comes with an unlimited salad bar, which had lots of fresh green salads and several other regional specialties that I wasn't brave enough to try because I wasn't sure what they were and didn't want to waste. I would prefer if the offerings were labeled, but it's really not a big deal or anything worth removing a star over. They also have a hot bar to accompany your protein that has a lovely rice dish, potatoes, mushrooms and black bean soup. Of course the star of the show is their Brazilian bbq. They give you a card that you turn over to either green or red. Green means you're still eating. Red means stop please! While your card is green they come around with various meats on a large skewer that they carve off fresh and hot right at your table. They have chicken, lamb, sausage and various cuts of steak like tri tip, New York, and brisket. They come around so frequently many times I didn't have a chance to finish what I was working on before they showed up offering more. The servers are really nice and happy to accommodate if you'd like a piece that's more or less rare, more or less fatty etc This may not matter to a lot of people, but I really loved their outfits. They were dressed on theme with the restaurant and that really added to the fun vibe. At one point the owner walked around asking everyone how they were enjoying their meal and thanking everyone for coming. It was a really lovely personal touch. They mentioned that on the weekends they have dancers, music etc so I might go back for that (I went on a Tuesday) but will be sure to go on a very empty stomach next time. It's a great choice for ppl doing keto or cave man, and a really fun and unique experience, a great reprieve from your typical restaurant experience. This place for food is just okay, great for a fun experience and friendly staff. We went on a Friday Night and each night they have a special feature. All of the beef, pork, lamb meats were quite juicy. But the taste is not to flavourful. Chicken and sausage is okay but dry. Paella had shrimp, just wish they had de shelled the shrimp before putting them in the rice. Salads are plain, they had paella, white rice, shrimp. The high light of the night is the black bean soup, was quite good. I'd only come here once every few years cause it's fun with family but flavour is bland with most of their food. Believe all the bad reviews below, after my experience I am sure they are all true. We went last night- against my best judgment- and unanimously agreed it was the worst food we had ever experienced. We all left feeling yucky! Salad bar- mostly canned items and lettuce was clearly not washed, potatoes also seemed old Seafood Friday- shrimp was not deveined, so full of guts, gross! Meat- dry and fatty. Last round was sausage and they were all raw when we cut into them. Table service- servers don't come around very often, which I am sure is deliberate to save on meat costs. When they do come out the pieces of meat on the spit are small so they run out quickly and again disappear, after only giving a few customers meat. Unless you want to sit there for 4 plus hours doesn't expect more than a few bites of meat. Finally, there were five of us and they added 18% gratuity to each bill without telling us prior. Not okay, be up front if you do that and tell the customer. The server watched my friend putting in an additional tip and didn't say anything about the 18% already added. Thankfully we caught it in time for him to cancel the second tip. It felt very dishonest. I went to the Rio downtown probably about 10 years ago. Thought the one in Coquitlam is basically the same. Went on a Tuesday and the place was pretty quiet. People are right about the parking. You have to be careful you don't park in the McDonald's spots as your car may be towed. So parking is somewhat limited. Staff initially did not seem friendly but warmed up once we started talking to them. Food is what was expected. The salad bar was limited but gave a nice change to the meat. Of course everything is barbequed. Decent variety. Liked some... didn't like others. Girls were pretty good at coming by. No. Just no. The staff is amazing at Rio and extremely friendly. The service is fantastic as well. We went on Monday evening for dinner and were very disappointed. Firstly, the complimentary basket of French fries, cheese puffs etc literally had two pieces in them and was served midway after we asked about those seeing them on other tables. They were drenched in oil as if it had been cooked in oil that wasn't hot enough. The buffet table is a joke - everything there is terrible and looks like it has been sitting there since lunch time. The pork sausage was delicious but unless they make it inhouse, the compliment doesn't really go to Rio for that. The pineapple was good too, however, despite repeatedly asking about it, it was never brought out. The meats ranged anywhere from rare to over done. I had to spit a piece out in the napkin because the cow was still mooing. For a restaurant that charges over $40 per person for their food, I would have gotten more value if I had just burned the money instead. Excellent service, great views on the rooftop close to the ocean, and the food was delicious! We enjoyed our cocktails too! The owners and waiters are from Brazil so the preparation of the food was very authentic and that's why we enjoyed it a lot. We have been to several Brazilian steakhouses in Las Vegas, Los Angeles etc but our teen boys really enjoyed this one a lot! What a great way to end our stay in Vancouver. Came here for a friend's surprise birthday as he's been craving meat. I got there early and the place was kind of empty, except for a few table. The hostess showed me to our table and then placed a bottle of wine. At first I thought "Wow, we got wine for my friend". Then I checked and they always place a wine on a table. Do NOT open it unless you want to pay an over-priced amount. We didn't open ours and asked the server to take it away. The table next to us opened theirs, when they got their bill, they regretted opening it. The salad bar is okay, not as big as other places. There was some shrimp and salmon there, but the rest were the typical salad bar items. There was only a few types of meat. We were there for about an hour & half, and the lamb and prime rib only came once. The sirloin probably came out about 5 or 6 times, the chicken gizzards came out twice, pork sausages about 4 times, etc. There was maybe 6 or 7 types of meat. read more

There are Feijoada, Farofa, torresmo, payo, several kind of salads, Guaraná (Brazilian's pop/soda) and caipirinha. It's really good :) the barbecue is excellent. My advise is, eat the meet with farofa and vinaigrette, you will probably love it. My second advise is, wait for the dessert. The dessert is not included in the all you can eat, but you should try.. There are 3, pudim, Brigadeirão and Papaya. I tried all them, but the best of them is Brigadeirão.. This is really a nice place to go and it is not too expensive. The waitress are helpful and nice people. The best one of them, is Rachel. She always helped me in everything that I needed with a good details about the food and drinks. The salad bar was included in the price of the all you can eat which was $33.95 per person for Sunday-Thursday dinner. The salad bar was okay but defiantly NOT the highlight of the meal. The different cuts of meat were fantastic. We all enjoyed most of them. Although no one in our group tried the chicken hearts. The servers constantly brought out freshly cooked and HOT meat choices. There was also a cinnamon coated pineapple that was served warm and cut fresh that came along with the other meat offerings. I thought that made a decent dessert for the end of the meal. The steak in this steakhouse is also missing. It's mostly pork, sausages, and chicken hearts. With fried bananas on the house to make it all worth it... NOT. It's waiver thin, I'm talking thinner than Timothée Chalamet. They wouldn't know seasoning if it literally blew up this restaurant. I am so disappointed and disgusted to be honest. The best thing I got was a double gin with the thinnest slice of lime I've ever seen. After all of this, I had to pray about forgiveness for whatever sin I had committed to be punished through this dry unseasoned meat. There is an eviction notice on the front doors for failure to pay rent . That should have been our first clue that the night wasn't going to go as planned . We decided to head to the new location anyway as we had reservations for a birthday party. We have been To Rio many times over the years . Every time the options get smaller and smaller and the variety is diminishing. The salad bar is EXTREMELY small and our choices for the meats was VERY limited 1 lamb , 1 chicken , 1 pork and about 4 types of beef . We only saw the lamb once our entire stay , chicken and pork twice and beef was constant . After hearing so much about this place, it was time to give it a go. Parking here is pretty brutal, but can sometimes be found on the streets W of Denman. There is also a lot underground, but who wants to throw away $2/h? Go spend that on beer instead. The place is quite large, and there is a huge patio on the N side of the dining area. Must be wonderful during the summer months. Staff were quite friendly, and there were just enough of them to keep things going. The salad bar is really a wonder to behold. I could see the clouds parting and the sun shining through the roof when I saw it. Lots of different vegetables, and even some mussels. My favourite item was the palm hearts. Behind the salad bar, there are several other entree-type items, such as cheese-flavoured meatballs, or something resembling butter chicken (didn't know that was Brazilian?). The best in my books though was the spaghetti with cream sauce. Special mention. As for the meat, the selection is quite great. However, my main complaint is that many of the meats were way too salty. Especially the steaks and sausage. What I like though is that you can pick the cut that you want, with your cute little pair of tongs. I don't know how many animals I killed that day. Especially when eating those delicious roasted chicken hearts. As this place is AYCE, there is only 1 set price. For dinner it was $30. A bit on the high side, so be sure to load up on the more expensive (ie meat, seafood) items. The other special mention? Dessert. Be sure to leave room for the cinnamon pineapple. Once seated there is virtually no wait time before you're being introduced to spits of finely salted meats. All you have to do if flip that card green and the you've alerted the rodizio team. Every new dish that comes your way is like seeing another person at a surprise party. You don't know who's going to be there but you get more excited every time you see someone new. Imagine being in an ice cream parlour and sampling every flavour guilt free before getting your scoop. I will typically cut myself off after the second sample. Anyone who gets more than two samples at an ice cream parlour is pushing the boundaries of freedom. As much as any spirit wants to continue basking in the gluttony of all you can eat steak, prolonging flipping the green coloured card over to red, reality must eventually strike. The inevitability of revealing the red side reading "I give up" is everyone's fate at the Rio Brazilian steakhouse. My husband and I went to Rio Steakhouse in December 2021 to celebrate another wedding anniversary. Unfortunately we were not pleasantly surprised. The staff is super kind, serves very well and manages to engage in conversation with customers to enhance their experience. We don't have to complain about the service, it was super nice. Even the manager came to our table many times to ask if we needed something, brought appetizers to us. The problem is the quality of the food. For those who have been to Rio before, they used to have an open buffet with salads, feijoada, rice, farofa, etc. and was closed because of COVID. Portions are now served at the table. We ordered salpicão salad and it was gone sour, you could smell it. They managed to replenish this portion as soon as possible, but I honestly was too afraid to eat the new portion. The staff has no knowledge of cutting the meat in the right direction, we could see them struggling with certain meats. I believe they don't go through training before serving customers. The rib serving cart is broken, making it even more difficult for the server to work. The dessert brigadeirão was amazing. Really good. I was disappointed, I went to Rio Steakhouse in 2018 and I have no complaints to make. It was all delicious (caipirinha was fresh and buffet fresh). One of my favorite food on earth is brasillian,and for some reason i have a soft heart for Brasillian people . This place is located on a busy street of Denmann and as all of us know parking here is not free aside from it is hard to find one it is brutally expensive. The restaurant is located on the second floor,nice huge place with a big patio on its north side.getting busy when we came,it was lunch time,not my first time eating this kind of foods but was my first time in this place. All you can eat lunch,its a help yourself style buffet,. First will be the salad bar,for me its heaven,selection of veggies is huge my favorite is the artichoke.endless selection of salad entries if you love veggies and salad you will love this place. I was so hesitant to come here after reading all the mixed reviews. Obviously when you're not paying a lot of money and it's all you can eat you can't expect melt in your mouth steak and I feel that most reviewers were comparing the meat here to something that would cost much more. This place is great! Everyone working there is extremely attentive. They told us when we were seated the wine on the table is at an extra charge if we choose to open it. The wine wasn't even expensive, I think it was $30 or so. The "salad bar" had a huge variety and the variety of meat was great too. I always had some meat on my plate and they cut you small pieces so you don't end up with a big chunk of meat. I had a food coma afterwards and I will 100% be going back here! read more

I personally felt satisfied with the 6 different types of bbq meats served at lunch ($24+tax) and the salad bar was extensive enough to satisfy my vegetarian needs. They even had a few hot food selections which was unexpected. One of which was feijoada which is usually served on weekends. It was surprisingly tasty along with the farofa, rice & kale. The meats were all seasoned well some maybe a tad too much but that's why there's salad to balance it out. Also I would have liked the picanha to be cooked on the rarer side. Didnt exactly get the full service-with-a-smile treatment but servers were very accommodating and approachable throughout the evening. I got served a variety of different meats. Served hot and right out the kitchen. Whether it was cooked rare or well-done, plenty of types of meats were served. Salad bar was quite limited to only a handful of toppings and types of greens. Dressing were also very limited. Got to see some Brazillian dance performances throughout the evening, while they asked people to join in and dance along with them.
