Updated.. I just went recently and they remodeled!! It looks absolutely stunning!! I was fine with the old school decor before... reminded me of my 80s/90s childhood. The new atmosphere is very modern. Chic and clean. It almost feels bigger, and the arcades are still there. They even remodeled the bathrooms. Pizza still as perfect as before! So I was recommended to come try Rios Pizza and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. Spent 28 bucks on a poorly assembled x-large pizza. The Sauce tasted like straight up canned tomato sauce. The only positive thing was the great taste of the meatball topping. As you can see in one of my photos, there wasn't much meatball on my pizza though. Lesson learned. My coworker has been raving about this place. It's located in Vons and Starbucks shopping center. On a Friday. We decided to come here for lunch in March. The place had few people at 11am. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza $3.50 and sandwich to go for hubby dinner. My coworker ordered 2slices for us to eat. We had to wait 15min or so for pizza be ready to eat. Once the pizza slices arrived, I could see the steam coming out. As I took a bite, it was cheesy and delicious. The crust is also good too. The cashier was friendly too. Placed a phone order for pickup on mother's day, staff answered promptly, 1st rate. Ordered an extra large pepperoni, sausage, and olive pizza. The order took about a 1/2 hour, pretty standard. While waiting in line, I can clearly hear the staff working the register airing out their frustration with a certain coworker... a definite no-no. Customers don't want to know about the dirty laundry. Pizza was taken home, good gooey mozzarella, sausage was flavorful with a little spice to it, pepperoni flavor was good not great. Two Sal's in Pico, or Gina's in Montebello, are your best bets for flavorful pepperoni, a lil spicy, more memorable than Rio's. Crust was a bit disappointing, more of a crisp crust than a doughy crust. I'd go with Gina's or Two Sal's for a crisp on the outside chewy on the inside. Definitely not a bad pizza. it's just not great. The lack of toppings what brought down the rating. The amount of sausage and olive was pretty disappointing. The theme of this great Pizzaria is "the best pizza in South El Monte!" I hesitate to agree...I think it's the BEST PIZZA IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA! The crust is crispy, yet chewy! The toppings are fresh and abundant! The sauce is piquant without being overwhelming! Everything about this pizza is superb! I only wish my family was a little more experimental...I'd like to try several different toppings...I love bell pepper & garlic, but the family treats these like they're vampires! Bad service tonight. I'd really like to speak to the owner of the store because in the approx. 8-10 years I've been going here this is the FIRST time I've ever received bad service. There is a really young looking, short, dark hair girl working tonight 01/05/2021 that refused to give me the name of another girl working at this location. When I asked to speak to the manager of the store, she said it was her but I suspect she was lying to me. She said "It's against the law to share the first name of another employee". Yes, she actually said that. Even though most businesses have employees wear name tags. It was not Erika or the more recently hired light skin tall girl that was also working tonight. However, Erika came over to save the day. A girl that took my order on the phone tonight was rude to me and wasn't paying attention to my simple order of a slice of pizza. I had to repeat my order for her 3 times and she was rude with her remarks with me on the phone. Erika said it was her but I don't think it was Erika because I've dealt with Erika for years and she's never been even close to rude with me. However, when my order was ready tonight, the tall girl who I'm guessing is a recent hire because I haven't seen her there too often, i know she's been there for a while but it hasn't been long. Anyways, when this taller, lighter skin girl who has a very loud and directness to how she speaks brought me my order tonight - her voice sounded like the girls voice who was rude to me on the phone. I think it was her on the phone. fyi - I sent a message on Facebook with my contact information. I'd appreciate a call from the owner to clarify exactly what happened. Also, I thought it's important for you to know what is going on at your store. I can't believe someone who is in charge would actually say "it's against the law to share a name" - how else can you identify an employee!? If she was lying to me about being in charge, this shouldn't be occurring either. Erika was more confident and seemed in charge but this shorter girl I spoke with who claims to be the manager of the store really does not know how to deal or talk with customers. She did a really poor job with me tonight. Really disappointing knowing this is the level of service I would be receiving if I visit your store. read more

Rios pizza has always been a favorite of mine whenever I'm in town, a friend of mine at work told me about this place and I've been giving it a thumbs up since my first visit there some 20yrs ago . A Montebello Classic. Rio's was my first job and the pizza, my first love. The Grinders and Pizza are the highlights. I'm not a fan of the pasta (I'm a pasta snob) but everything else is money. The pizza takes 20 minutes (it's made to order so, yeah, it needs to cook) and the sandwiches about 10 as they take a ride in the oven for that toasty goodness taste. Sure the patrons can be sketchy, but hey, it's Montebello, not Beverly Hills. The people are perfectly fine some are just a bit more ghetto fabulous than others. However, avoid the bathrooms at all times. Unless you're writing a thesis paper on graffiti, you will not enjoy it. read more

I've lived in Montebello my whole life, Rios is always our go to pizzeria. Home made pizza and great ingredients, you can't beat that. I will say the prices are a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. You can get coupons from vons from the back of their receipt and that helps a bit. read more

This is it, this charred crust that adds so much flavor to the high end cheese that Rios chooses to use and the top ingredients that is no reg Pepperoni slices that is actually real meat and shows what kind of pizza maker this chef and owner are! Rios is truly an amazing spot to get a pie and feel good about spending your hard earned money here. This is the spot for a meatball sandwich, it's off the hook. Me being part of the Yelp Elite I have to review every business fairly and report what I see and experience. With this being said this was the Worst first experience ever! I went off other people's Yelp reviews here and decided to try it. I have to say the taste of the food was delicious but it immediately turned sour when I found a few things wrong with my food. I have one picture of what I saw but the other was more disgusting. For this businesses sake I won't mention what I found but I WILL NOT be here again. Funny thing is the manager was more concerned with the one chicken wing and slice of pizza that was missing instead of being concerned with what I had found in my food. Refusing to speak of it she just gave back the money and brushed it off. Side note: when you fumigate all things don't die. They come out and scatter.
