They offer quite a few vegetarian items! But first, MIMOSAs! I usually opt for the savory dishes but today I decided to venture to the sweet side of life and got pancakes! Pancakes with coconut and pineapples with a side of fresh fruit since I don't eat meat. One of my pancakes was a little on the burnt side but I ate it nonetheless. The number one thing Ripe has going for them is consistency. I've yet to order a dish that I didn't like and the service here is top notch! My favorite dishes so far have been the pecan crusted salmon and lemon basil ravioli. My husband loves their NY Strip and gouda mashed potatoes as well as the Grape Steak salad. To date we have only been on the weekends but I can't wait to check out some of their weekly specials soon! read more

Brunch? This is the place in El Paso for it. Varied options, fair prices, and delicious food. Ambiance - This place is always busy, especially for Sunday brunch after church services. They do take reservations though, but prepare for a 20 minute wait usually. Service - The waiters are helpful with the menu as well as very courteous. I have however, had slow service and had my meal forgotten before. It was busy hour though and they were quick rectify it. Food: - Complimentary biscuits with delicious jam! This isn't on the menu, but it's my favorite thing here! - "Green Eggs and Ham" Omelet - This was tasty, but I thought there was too much green chile. - I've tried other things here too and they've all been decently tasty. They have updated their menu the last time I was here though, so there's definitely more things to try! Pricing - Decent price for brunch and the portions are huge! I've always had leftovers to take home. There aren't many brunch places in El Paso, but this is probably one of the best. It was my first visit to Ripe Eatery for a nice Saturday brunch this morning. I was very happy a friend of mine suggested this place for a brunch! I love breakfast food in general, but what I had today was very good. First of all, I got there around 10:30 and parking lot was very full. There are at least three eateries (I don't think sushi place was open yet though) and a Tae Kwon Do dojo as well as other business establishments. If you don't see any parking slot, don't worry because you could go around the restaurant and park in the back of this shopping center on the church side. At a glance it appeared to be a very busy morning, but amazingly I was seated without wait. I noticed by the time I got out, there were folks waiting outside, so it might worth coming here earlier in the morning. Service was between better and the best. Servers (I had at least two guys watching my table) were efficient and courteous, but they were not overly friendly which I appreciated this morning since I really was looking forward to a quiet yet tasty brunch after a long busy work week. Drink order was promptly filled, and my food came out fairly quickly, I thought. Food--I ordered quiche of the day. It was served with nice biscuit with very tasty fresh something (I couldn't tell exactly what it was--not a jelly nor jam, some freshly concocted fruit spread). Quiche came with a fruit cup that was very nice. Quiche (bacon, spinach, caramelized onion and of course cheese) was excellent except the bottom crust in parts were very tough and chewy. Other than that it was very tasty and filling. When you check in with Yelp, you'll receive a coupon for a free tea or soda. I think this is my favorite dining experience I've had since moving to El Paso a few months ago. The ambiance and decor is lovely, the wait staff is amazing and the food and drinks are incredible. I love the variety of menu items available, especially vegetarian and vegan options/flexibility. The autumn cranberry cocktail or whatever it was called (pictured) was one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time!! John was our waiter and he was wonderful. I've been here a few times and overall it's really solid. Brunch is pretty on point and the first time I went, I ordered 2 meals the 2nd one a pancake. The pancake took a long time to get out so they didn't charge me! That was pretty cool. I came on prime rib night (Monday nights) and asked for a bloody, bloody, rare cut. It wasn't, just very rare. Sigh. And I had asked if they served it this way and was told yes. No, no they don't. But that's ok, almost no one does in restaurants. It wasn't bad but I honestly wouldn't come back on this night. Ripe, you almost broke my heart! It's my last day in El Paso and my 1st time at Ripe. After a short wait, once I was seated at 6:45, and excitedly ordered the prime rib, Jesus tells me that they're out. Seeing my crestfallen face, he hurriedly goes and checks with the kitchen and saves the day! Apparently the computer said that they didn't have any more, but they have a couple left. So word to the wise, come early, since it's first come first serve starting promptly at 5pm on Mondays. I stopped in today for a business lunch meeting. I wasn't too sure what to get but the waitress recommended the salmon. Hesitant, I said sure why not. When the meal was presented. I took one bite and my eyes lite up. This was the best fish I have had in a long time. With the pecans and the mesmerizing taste of the fish, this kept me wanting more and more; this is the meal I will always get. The waitress also did a superb job. Usually if I'm eating out and you give me a choice between fried chicken and grilled, I'm picking the fried because I want that crunch. However, I was intrigued by Ripe's grilled chicken sandwich that comes with a pear spread so I ordered it, prepared to be a little disappointed. No. Way. Oh my God! What a revelation! It was juicy, flavorful, smoky, and a little sweet. I had the homemade chips and they were good too. I live on the opposite side of town but I will travel for this sandwich so I hope they keep it on the menu. My first time here. I highly recommend making a reservation online. We showed up on a Sunday lunch rush, we walked past the hungry waiting people and we were sat immediately. We sat outside and our tables were wobbly. There's no fans or misters so if you don't get shade, you have to sit in the heat of the sun. I ordered a ham quiche that was the special and not on the menu. It was delicious and very rich. I also had a red beer. It was ok, very cucumbery which I wasn't expecting. Our waiter was very friendly but didn't come around very often. The food is pretty good, definitely fresh and homemade. You're in a shopping mall so sitting outside has a somewhat flat esthetic. If a friend insisted on coming back, I wouldn't say no, but I'm not sure if I'll come back on my own. read more

I was not as impressed with this place as many of the reviewers on here. I started with attempting to order a glass of wine, but they did not have the one on the menu that I wanted (Red Zinfandel). They brought me tastes of others, but all seemed to have been open for too long and chilled too much for a Shiraz or Tempranillo. I went ahead with the Shiraz as it was half price for Happy Hour. I then ordered the Shishito Duck wings as an appetizer. They had a wonderful flavor and the blistered peppers were great. However, the duck wings were nothing but bone and sauce. You could do little more than lick the sauce off of them. (They did take those of my bill, thank goodness). I had a goat cheese and beet salad with added shrimp and steak for protein. The dressing was very tasteless and asking for extra and pouring it on did not help. The beets seemed canned or jarred. I would expect a Beet and Goat Cheese Salad to have freshly roasted beets on it, but I guess that is just me. Finally, I know you should not expect much for a $7 add on of steak on a salad, but what I was presented left a lot to be desired. I was able to swallow about 1/4 of it. The rest was spit into a spare plate as it was fat and/or gristle. Not likely to return even though the options in the area are limited. Fortunately, I will only be working in the area for a couple of more weeks and every hole in the wall Mexican food place I have tried has been great. I came in on a Sunday at 9:02 am to an empty restaurant. One couple walked in after our party of 3. We were seated and given menus and waited more than 15 minutes and not even a single person came by to take a drink order or offer water. Meanwhile, the couple that came in right after me already had drinks, biscuits, and a waitress take their order. I could see multiple people including the host standing around, drinking water, and even one server walked halfway out of the kitchen and looked at our table in the back and then disappeared. I've never had such terrible service here and seen people be this lazy. Not worth coming back because if they are this slack then the food must also be terrible. During these strang times it's the right thing to do. Cleary it was a mistake. POTENTIAL VIRUS BREEDING GROUND During our visit on May 30th, we noticed employees using gloves. I never saw gloves being changed. When I asked the manager if he knew gloves were single use, I was told by him that employees change gloves with each change of task (that's bad practice). In front of us a server was talking to other servers, was touching the counter, touched the front podium, then picked up an order of food and brought it the table. Unless he had super speed and could change gloves in the 3 seconds that he was out of view, gloves were never changed. During our stay, I saw people sit outside at a table. They left and the table was never wiped down. At no time did I see an inside table wiped down. FOOD QUALITY (Lack thereof) We ordered the chili dip that was served with blue corn chips. The food came with regular chips. The waitress never said anything. When I asked where's the blue corn chips, I was told the ones that I had tasted the same. The sweet potato fries were dripping in grease and weren't edible. There was an appetizer listed as fried calamari. The only issue was that there is no calamari in the dish. The menu has soda and tea with free refills. I ordered a diet coke. Our waitress brought an aluminum can of diet coke to the table. I asked about refills and was told no. I switched to water. The restaurant needs to buy a water filter. El Paso tap water is disgusting. There menu is nothing special. My wife and I commented that take out the chillies and it's almost the identical menu from multiple other non El Paso restaurants. SERVICE 5 wait staff standing around in a corner and no one checking to see if customers needed anything. I called the restaurant from our table to get someone to come to the table. I definitely recommend that you make it a point to try this place...at least one time. You may actually fall in love for the first time. I've been there several times and I have enjoyed several meals. It's a great dining establishment with great food and good people serving you. Although it's located in front of a busy high school on a busy street and on the favorable end cap of the shopping center, it's practically a hole in the wall in one's mind. This is because the center caters mostly to the immediate neighborhood by default and not by design. In a sense it's out of sight and out of mind. Ripe is my favorite restaurant in El Paso. They have a great selection. I always order the sweet potato fries with the cilantro ranch dipping sauce. My go to favorites are the Green Chili and ham burger or the Cordon Bleu chicken. The green chili and ham hamburger is gigantic and delicious. it is a great version of a green chili cheeseburger. Cordon Bleu Chicken sandwich is made with fresh chicken fried chicken and served with a honey mustard sauce and greens. I've tasted the brisket torta when my dad ordered it. It was tender and delicious all of the flavors complimented each other. My mom has had the corn dogs which was their special in May. They were delicious the batter was a corn bread batter that wasn't to sweet. The Raspberry limeade is a must try. I love going to Ripe it's treat for my tastebuds.You won't be disappointed. I love when I check in on the YELP app and I get a little coupon feels like I hit the Yelp lottery. Free tea I will take it. Restaurant is loud because it is so pack but it is good food. This place lives up to the local hype! Located near the intersection of Redd Road and Westwind , just east of Franklin HS, this eatery has all the elements a diner is looking for. Friendly courteous and attentive staff, plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and a Menu loaded with great appetizers and entrees that appeal to just about anyone! The beer and Wine selection is varied and Not boring. The burgers are top notch!
