This used to be a JoyYee's restaurant. Rumor has it that siblings who own the chain had a dispute, and this particular branch's owner broke away from the chain, and renamed this property JoJo's. In like manner from the original, there are LOTS of boba and milk tea and smoothie choices! Food is yummy and even bigger portions than JoyYee's, it seemed to me. But why only 3 stars? The Ladies restroom. It wasn't filthy, but not clean, either. And to see all the cleaning paraphernalia scattered on the floor instead of hidden in a nice cabinet was a real turn-off for me. read more

Wow! Was in town for a concert and stopped here beforehand for dinner. I live about 5 hours away from Tinley Park, but would make the journey just to eat at this restaurant again, no concert required, it was that good. It was pretty busy when we came in, but the staff did a really nice job of getting groups in and out quickly. They have a really large menu, plenty of options for both food and drinks, something for everyone. Lots of flavored tea/boba/smoothie options. And a variety of Asian cuisine dishes and flavors: Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, etc. I got a smoothie, spring rolls, and hot stone rice bowl. My friend got a tea and noodle dish. Everything came out fast, fresh, and literally sizzling hot. I really liked their lighting and wall decor too. And I appreciated all of the photos included on their menu of what the food and drink items look like so you know exactly what to expect you're going to receive when ordering. This quaint restaurant has quite an extensive menu. We ordered carryout for dinner: crab rangoons, Vietnamese spring rolls, Mongolian beef, and Malaysian seafood fried rice. As others have mentioned, huge portions, and everything was tasty. We especially enjoyed their crab rangoons and loved that their sweet and sour sauce had a little spice to it. I don't know who is cooking in that kitchen, but I won't be back. I spent $69, and my food was very bland, the shrimp lo mein cost $16.99, it had 4 shrimps , and was very oily. The pineapple shrimp fried rice had 3 shrimp, and the beef and noodle dish, the beef was tuff. It needed to cook longer. Great food, huge portions and tons of boba options. My mom and I stopped in here for an impromptu lunch. I got a watermelon green tea with the standard tapioca boba and she got a pineapple lemonade with popping strawberry boba. Both drinks were tasty and the boba was fresh. For food we ordered chicken dumplings, Thai chicken/shrimp lettuce wraps, chicken chow udon, and pineapple shrimp fried rice. I really liked the food. It was all super hot and didn't take long to come out. There was a lot of kimchi in my meal that I picked out because I'm not a fan but then later learned that's the dish the server put in for me. I wanted chicken udon but for some reason he rang us up for the brisket kimchi chow udon but subbed the brisket for chicken. Mom didn't realize the lettuce wraps were Thai lettuce wraps. She hates spice in her food and didn't really love her dish. She tried to eat it but in the end stuck to the other food at the table. For the rice she only wanted a side a fried rice but got the whole entree. I will say that pricing was a little confusing. My mom saw the pictures on the menu but didn't realize the pricing was a couple pages later and she kind of blindly ordered. We ended up spending $74 but only eating 1/2 the food because the portions were so large. I guess good problems to have but the food eventually got wasted because we weren't heading home anytime soon and didn't have access to a fridge to save the leftovers. Just know portions are big and you definitely have the option to share entrees if you want. Overall, I would definitely come back here for the food and drinks. They are more about quality rather than quality. But I'm glad JoJo's was not the case. Is it authentic? Maaaaybe not but we all liked it and the portions were big. We ordered the basil mussels, salted fish and ground pork with egg bowl, kalbi, Bibimbap, and the chapchae with grilled cuttle fish and chicken. All good, though I didn't see or taste any salted fish. Sooo many boba tea choices to choose from. If you are indecisive, good luck. We loved this location when it was Joy Yee South originally but still love it with the new owners and name JoJo Asian Bistro. I normally always order the crispy lemon shrimp but decided to try the crispy shrimp with mango sauce this time and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is clean. The staff is attentive and very nice. Although there were 2 parties 7+ at this time, and on a Sunday afternoon, my food came surprisingly fast and HOT. I think this might be a predominantly Chinese restaurant but they serve Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese. I got the pho and spring rolls. The pho was a big portion that could easily be shared between 2 people with an appetizer on the side. The price for the portion was reasonable. What differs from the typical Vietnamese restaurant is that they put all of the toppings (basil and bean sprouts) in the pho rather than a side dish of the veggies. I also had to ask for lime. The broth was bland which was disappointing. The spring roll is well packed and their peanut sauce is really good. All the veggies were very fresh!!! There was a party in front of me that ordered tons of food and it looked really good. Their portions were very big as well. This is your classic and casual large family style portion all encompassing Chinese/Asian restaurant. The food and service comes fast, flavorful, and hot. The prices are fair and the dishes are so big, you can share one $20 protein entree with like 6+ average eaters. The massive boba drink selection is also fun, familiar and dependable. The tea and flavors are accurate to Taiwanese/Chinese boba spots that have been around since the early 2000s. I grew up around all the Chinese food in Los Angeles and to my personal taste palate, this is the most accurate and close to what I know. I pulled this from a website that "The four main styles of Chinese cooking are Beijing (Mandarin), Cantonese, Sichuan, and Shanghai. Other well-known regional Chinese cuisines include Chaochou, Fujian, Mongolian, and Hunan styles." I'll throw in Hong Kong style there too. Sometimes when you have a generically "Asian" or "Chinese" or "Pan-Asian" restaurant, you'll get a mix and mash of a few styles depending on the cooks. So just be open-minded. I haven't tried any of their non-Chinese dishes (Thai, Japanese Korean, Vietnamese) so I can't speak on those. I most likely would not order them either. But I WOULD recommend the Chinese~ dishes!.... Dried Chili Chicken, the Honey Black Pepper Short Ribs, and Malaysian Spicy Green beans. Solid favorites. It's a very relaxed atmosphere with bright white lights, supply boxes and containers in full sight, and TV screens playing karaoke covers (with lyrics) of Pop songs and that's kind of fun. It's clean and comfortable and they sanitize the place constantly. And just an observation, the majority of customers are also Asian which is a little comforting especially in the sparse southwest suburbs. It makes me a tad more confident that this is a trusted spot. :) We love JoJo's. It's the best of its kind in this area. read more

The besties and I went here when I was visiting and we got their new banana milk tea boba drink and it was simply immaculate. I must've ordered the wrong thing because I got the regular banana slush but I still thought it was really good. It had an artificial banana flavor but I'm not picky when it comes to sugary drinks like that. Before I moved out of state, I went here for lunch one day and I remember getting chow mein and chicken. That dish was really good, and if I remember correctly, it was an enormous serving too! I absolutely love their pho, especially if you have a group, a large bowl feeds 4-6 people. They're generous portions for the price. Their beef bulgolgi over fried rice is to die for. It's got great flavor and you just want more every bite! I love coming here with my family. This place has never disappointed me. Decide to come eat here after our first choice of restaurant was closed. Ordered 110$ worth of food. Our two ordered of Spring rolls were not fresh. The rice wrapper was hard and the veggies inside tasted stale. We had the fried rice with chicken, presentation was very sloppy and chicken was stale. We ordered a bowl of Pho, the noodle's itself were tasty but the broth did not taste like authentic pho. What made me even more upset was the service we received, specifically when we asked for the bill. We sent back an order of spring rolls because they tasted stale which or server was clearly not happy about. Not to mention that it appeared that they were talking negatively about us with staff while processing our payment, talking loudly while giving us mean stares. Made us feel very uncomfortable.
