Fantastic traditional Italian pastry ,cakes- custom cookies and service with a smile. The Rispoli Family (siblings Gabrielle and Peter) that own and run this location go above and beyond to make your event, your special occasion or just breakfast a wonderful experience. My family has spent over 20 years shopping at Rispoli Bakery- (all locations) but will make the extra drive to Hawthorne for their beautiful and delicious cakes and lobster tails! I've had my son's cakes made at Rispoli's for the past 8 years. And they always get the theme right since it changes every year depending on what my son is into that time. They design their cakes very well including their pastries. I haven't had a bad experience so far and will be going there for his upcoming birthday in August. This location doesn't even deserve 1*. On Wednesday my daughter visited the Hawthorne location for the first time. We usually visit the Emerson Rispoli location for all Holidays and once a month on a Saturday or Sunday. What a disappointment! The rum baba was so dark on the bottom that we had to cut the burnt off to eat it and the cannoli shells were dark and greasy! I could smell the over-used oil before I got the cannoli to my mouth, disgusting! If the bakery was closer I would have returned the pastry. My family and I will not be returning to the Hawthorne location. This location is not of the same quality of the Ridgefield or Emerson bakeries. read more

Had to hit up the new Rispoli's in Hawthorne the other day! They had a soft opening last week, but on Sunday it appeared to be up and running. True to my form- I bought everything and took it all home to eat in relative secrecy. The mini eclairs- were superb - chocolate-y top, the pastry cream was smooth, creamy and wonderful. The mini Napoleon was just as good- that didn't even make it out of the box- I took a fork and went to town. The ricotta puff was great- I'm not a huge fan of ricotta, but this was a great mix- and the choux dough was crispy and cooked well- which is always amazing. Next was the Pasticiotti Cream- again delicious! The mini cannoli was just right. Everything was really delicious- I am hard person to please with pastries, but I was very happy. I got a box of cookies as well- but I wasn't as in love with those as I wanted to be. If I had to guess I would say they use almond flour or some type of nut flour to make these. I am not a nut person and I tend to keep them out of the house due to my son's allergies.... I am a lover of bakery cookies and these were just ok- maybe a bit dry....but Rispoli's obviously have a tremendous following so they don't need my opinions on these. The service I am going to chalk up to new opening. I thought the people working there weren't as nice as they could've been especially since they just opened. I am hoping to see a change with that. Overall- perfect location, epic offerings and somewhere I plan to visit every weekend. read more

Yes, Rispoli's has a great reputation. However, their prices have become out of control (high)! Super tiny pastries (no bigger than a bite) are 2.50? Tiny cannolis same price. When I visited, they were trying to sell cookies (5 to a plate) for 25 dollars! I will never pay 25 dollars for 5 sugar cookies. Rispoli's, please note what the market will bear. Very much overpriced. Try Baking Grace for great pastries and cakes in town! read more

I visited Rispoli in Hawthorne for the first time Saturday. The bakery itself was clean and the display was nice. The prices were steep for what you get (bite sized pastries). The eclairs and pastries were a little dry and looked stale, but they weren't overly sweet. Customer service was not good. It was my first time at this bakery so I took less than a minute to look at the display before ordering. The older lady behind the counter said "I don't have all day". I looked around thinking maybe a line formed behind me. No, I was still the ONLY customer in the bakery, and now I know why. It was only 1pm, so the bakery was nowhere near closing. Maybe she thought I didn't hear her. Maybe she didn't care. Either way I apparently knew something she didn't. A smile, patience, and general kindness goes a long way in building and keeping clientele. Especially in this economy. While my small purchase might not have meant a lot, my recommendations to friends/businesses that are always looking for a good bakery to cater events would've. I will not return to Rispoli in Hawthorne. If I'm spending $$$ on something that's so ridiculously over priced I want the business to at least ACT like they want my $$$. read more

My favorite order is an americano & a lobster tail. No one has the same recipes as this family, it can not be beat. They have something for everyone.
