Visited while staying locally for a wedding. I selected this spot because of its cute vibes inside. Although it's a nice spot to hang out with friends or to get a bit of work done, the coffee I ordered was too hot to drink until after we finished our breakfast. The food we ordered wasn't what I expected. The avocado with egg is described as coming wjth "scrambled, hard boiled or poached egg" but we weren't given a choice and wound up receiving scrambled, which is not my preferred preparation... I wish we ended up with poached instead. The kouign amann made up for the scrambled egg misunderstanding. It was warmed upon request and the layers were chewy, buttery and formed a perfectly crystallized sugar crust on the outside. I'd come back just for this because it was baked so well and I'm a sucker for a laminated, flaky pastry. I ordered a latte with oat milk, but it was so thin and hot it felt like it might have been just steamed milk added to freshly brewed coffee instead of steamed milk and espresso. This is the first and only bad food or service experience we've had on our entire trip to Palm Springs. It's coffee, so normally I wouldn't bother with a review. But this was so bad... I'd be completely remiss if I didn't say something. Stopped in this morning to get coffee for my wife and a smoothie for me. Stepped up to place an order. Two workers behind the counter. Neither acknowledged me for a good 2-3 minutes. I was one of two customers in the place. When they got around to it, they asked what I wanted. Iced Americano with vanilla and a Strawberry Banana smoothie. And the guy walked off. Not a word. As in left the counter, the lobby, and disappeared out of sight... half my order keyed into the Clover device. I looked at the other worker, who shrugged and resumed trying to figure out how to get the caramel sauce out of a plastic bottle. After 5 minutes, and the order taker hadn't returned, caramel dude put down his work and came over, "Just a vanilla iced Americano for you?" "No. I wanted a smoothie as well, but the other dude walked off." "Oh... he went to see if we have banana. But we have strawberries." He gestured to a half empty bag of partially thawed frozen strawberries in the counter. Me: "No thank you. I'll just take the Americano." So... no banana for a smoothie. No caramel for the guy before me's caramel latte. No creamer in the setup area afterward to add to my $8 Americano. And worst of all.... zero communication. What a little gem. Coffee is phenomenal. Wife had a cappuccino and I had a cold brew and they were amazing. Service is friendly, engaging and super helpful. Somehow you feel like you've been here a thousand times even if it's your first visit. Nice indoor and outdoor seating the welcomes you to relax among friends. The pastries are incredible. I often go to this coffee shop with friends, because I like to avoid the large chain places, and I like to give business to the smaller shops. This morning, I ordered a berry danish. When I was eating it, something was sharp and hurting inside my mouth. Turns out that there was a sharp piece of broken plastic INSIDE the danish. Thankfully, I didn't choke on it, or swallow it. I'm on blood thinner and that could have been a real problem, had I swallowed the piece of sharp plastic. It could have ripped something open inside me andI could have had severe bleeding without knowing it. So I took the piece of plastic to the counter and showed it to the staff. Latte was pretty good, and avocado toast was good. I came here due to early hours, but they weren't really open on time. I think they had a catering order or something. Not really the comfy cafe atmosphere I like, but it's a 'modern' style town. Not a lot of other choices, as most people get hotel or home coffee. read more

Although the pastries may not be made from scratch, they're freshly baked on-site, ensuring good quality. They are on the smaller side in terms of price. The friendly staff goes out of their way to make your experience enjoyable. The coffee is excellent--just be sure to request a fresh brew instead of the end of the pot. Certainly a cute coffee shop with high potential. I've been coming here with every Palm Springs visit and I do admit, my past experiences were far greater then my latest attempt. Pros: clean interior, outdoor patio with umbrellas, plentiful indoor seating and great parking as the location is inside a larger building with other stores and a former bank. Cons: This specific visit, I ordered a veggie quiche to which I was informed they had it but it wasn't good so they didn't suggest it (sigh). I then moved on to attempt the breakfast burrito and a Valentine's special drink "Tuxedo Mocha" and paid for both. I was then informed that they were out of the burrito and offered me the Veggie Scramble instead. They then had to comp me a little extra money back. I will say that the barista and chef in the back had a wonderful poise and attitude about them despite the inconvenience. The barista even had some fun with me and surprised me with extra chocolate syrup on the mocha. Excellent coffee, excellent staff, quiet (good for conversation or just chilling out) while I was there late morning. It's in the back of the building, you can enter directly from outside - look for the patio umbrellas. If you order drip coffee in a mug you can get free refills (even tho the register says otherwise when they ring it up.) I love the feel of a ceramic cup instead of paper. Their pastries are all excellent but all croissant-based, aside from muffins and bagels. Wish they had something more cake-like - coffee cake? lemon bars? A minor quibble. read more

I had a pretty decent bagel and lox, with red onions and capers. It was fairly priced and I will probably go again because of the short turnaround service. Everything tasted pretty fresh... I asked them to dig the inside of the everything bagel out for me and toast it twice and they were able to accommodate. This was a first time for us being locals and all. We live on the opposite side of town and usually go to 4 Paws Coffee Co. Love that place! My husband had the cold brew with coffee cubes and caramel and milk. I had a taste. Mediocre at best. I think the cubes took away from the smoothness of the cold brew. Torani is not my favorite sweetener. Very artificial. Maybe order without coffee cubes and syrup next time. He liked it though! Anyway, my cappuccino was good. It was very creamy even with almond milk. Usually they don't taste the same, but good job. I actually enjoyed it unsweetened too since I usually always sweeten it. Owner and barista were very friendly. We likely won't go out of our way to come here. We stopped in because our car is at the wash a block up the street. Place was packed with lots of customers! It was the last day of our desert trip. We already checked out of our hotel in Cathedral City and needed a nice coffee place to hang out before taking a tour early in the afternoon (and then heading home). After much researching and weighing out options, we ended up at Ristretto which was located inside a historic building (The 500) currently used for office space. Great ambience, some art and decor to look at, and service was wonderful. I had an iced mocha with oat milk (yummy!) and my boyfriend had an iced americano. We both enjoyed our drinks and the relaxing hour we spent there taking a break from the summer heat. read more

Came to support local and I am so glad I did. I was craving a cappuccino and wanted it in a ceramic mug... not a paper cup. It was rich and smooth and creamy. Better than I had hoped. After savoring our coffee out on the misted patio (which was average--- chairs and umbrellas but no green garden), I went back in to check out the pastries. I found out the pastries are half off after 4:00. I ordered a chocolate cookie. It was thick, crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. If I were a local, I might be here every night. Definitely worth the stop. We'll be back for sure! Well as stated above, came back for a latte and an Americano. This place is simply does not disappoint. Sorry folks no photos as my latte was not decorated with flowers in the foam; But I didn't care because the flavor of the brew is so smooth and the foam was just right! I'll be back again! Search this place as we were looking for coffee and a quick breakfast before heading to a tournament. I had the latte...and it was up to standard. However I would not recommend the food...I got a bagel with eggs and bacon. The bagel wasn't fresh and the eggs were very blend. The bacon was the only flavor... My boyfriend had the breakfast burrito. He took one bite and said the tortilla wasn't good and again the filling was blend. Since we got it to go we couldn't go back or grab salt or anything to make it better. May come back but just for the latte and definitely not the food. read more

I just had the best dirty Chai latte I've ever had in my life! Love this coffee shop. As a busy local, it means a lot to me that these guys know what I order and know me by my first name. If you're looking for specialty coffee experience: Coffee is OK. Interior design kind of dated--looks like an airport. I'm assuming pastry selection is small because we came morning/brunch time and nothing was left. Since there were no pastries, we thought we played it safe with the bacon burrito. Burrito was all dry egg. Maybe half of a strip of bacon and I'm not sure if there was cheese in it. Wouldn't recommend. Has more of a diner/cafeteria feel? Maybe that's why it's a community favorite with the old folks? read more
