I stumbled upon this place while visiting Pittsburgh and I'm glad I did! It has a nice ambiance and friendly employees. It seems reservations are generally needed, but since I was dining alone I was able to sit at the bar. They were busy so the service was a bit slow, but the bartender was apologetic and otherwise extremely pleasant. I tried to order the house quiche but they were out. Therefore, I ordered the shrimp and grits and I'm glad I did as it was fantastic! It didn't have a lot of shrimp (about three pieces), but the fried eggs were excellently cooked, the grits were delicious, and the potatoes and veggie side medley was a tangy treat to be enjoyed. Incredible food, gorgeous decor & amazing staff. They have one of the most creative menus in the city. Also fantastic for events with a stunningly decorated private room. We saw this restaurant while walking downtown and thought we'd try it out. The service staff were very friendly and accommodating. The upscale decor is surprisingly comfortable. I ordered beet salad where you can add protein, I really wanted the Nashville chicken, thought I'd ask, and they were able to do this for me, which totally made my dinning experience so incredible. This has to be one of the better beet salads I've had, thick wedges of multicoloured beets that were soft when biting into them. The dressing was a perfect accompaniment. We also ordered the salmon and slaw, which was a little smaller the portion size, but it was such soft melt in your mouth salmon with a very flavourful Asian well dressed slaw. I also ordered a side of fries which were crispy, and crunchy, the ketchup felt a little lighter than what I'm used to, I kinda like this light version better, not as sweet as the regular out of the bottle katchup. Over all very nice experience. Thank you to the staff in the kitchen, the hostesses and our waitstaff on this visit, you've made our visit to your city just that little bit more enjoyable. read more

Upon entering, you are embraced with wooden swings and a wall of boxwood that makes for an excellent photo op! It really sets the tone for the vibe of the restaurant! As an added bonus, there are chandeliers hanging over the bar, and the entire restaurant has an urban vibe to the core! The service was spot on. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. The seating can be super close so much so that you can hear the conversations of the tables next to you. However, our waitress easily was able to communicate with us! We started out the meal with the bread board because why not?!? I love that the bread came with a few different kinds and different butter flavors. Enjoyed ritual house and everything about it. The waiting area as you enter is an influencer dream spot. Definitely instagram ready area, took a ton of pics with family. We made a reservation for brunch on a Saturday and were seating as soon as we got there. Greeted very warmly as well. The food and drinks were amazing. I had the chicken waffle and hubby tried the lemon merengue pancake , can't remember what my mother in law had but it tasted good. All in all a good time. Love the ambiance and layout. Based on three separate visits First time - came for brunch and got the avocado toast and champagne bongs. Service was good, but the avocado toast didn't really have much taste. Second time - came for dinner to celebrate my sisters' birthdays. The food and service were very good. I also like that the managers came to check to see if everything was ok and asked how our experience was. It was also nice that they brought a free dessert with a sparkler to celebrate their birthdays. Third time - was invited to brunch to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Got the wagyu burger and amethyst drink. My aunt brought a cake for my cousin and the restaurant was able to keep it in the back and cut it for when we were ready. They also still brought out the sparkler with cotton candy for my cousin even though we brought our own cake. They even re-lit the sparkler so we could take more pictures (which was cool). The service was not as good this time... The waitress may have been a little new (which everyone is new at some point), so we were very patient. The waitress was attentive, but we noticed we had to ask for things multiple times and she didn't separate some of the checks correctly, but was able to fix everything promptly. The managers also came out to check on us periodically. I had the biggest problem (the most recent visit) when we asked the waitress for take home containers and she took our food back to box for us... the previous two times I was there the waitstaff brought out any to go containers that were needed. I'm someone that despises this restaurant practice because of things that can go wrong when they take your food back... (accidental trashing, dropping food the floor, items missing, purposeful food tampering, etc). I noticed when I brought my burger home that some items were missing (toppings that were on the side and ALL the fries...). It's worth mentioning that one of the appetizers we ordered came out later than the rest so they comped it for us which was nice as we didn't ask for this, but very nice gesture. Overall the restaurant is cool. The ambiance is always great, food is always pretty good (cool presentation and nice portions), and the service is ...USUALLY great. The only thing I would suggest is giving diners the option to either have their food packed or bring the containers to the diners so they can pack their own food to prevent 'accidents.' read more

Arrival was smooth, valet out front took care of parking, and we were promptly seated once inside. Seating was nice but placement had us right next to the stairs to the bar, I just felt it was a little invasive with other patrons constantly coming and going, but not worse than the tables lining the pathway to the bathrooms upstairs. Otherwise, the inside is rather charming. Our server was excellent. Helped us decide on a few things. Drinks were very good. We started with deviled eggs and French onion soup. The deviled eggs had a stronger vinegar taste to them that I personally wasn't fond of. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese which had an ample amount of lobster, very filling. She ordered the 8oz filet mignon done medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. We finished with the seasonal cheesecake after learning they were out of the seven layer cake. We then received complimentary champagne to make a toast. All and all our experience was wonderful. Would return. We were seated about 10 minutes after arrival (with a reservation) and our server greeted us nearly immediately. She had a lot of suggestions and let us take purr time looking over the menu. The bar area with all of the chandeliers is beautiful. The mural on the wall going down from the second floor - also very cool. I have to say, the service was excellent. Our waiter told us details about the place, had good recommendations and we were never searching for him when we needed another drink. The drinks were so good! Between the 6 of us, we tried several and no one had a bad thing to say about any of them. I highly recommend the Spa Day cocktail. It was so refreshing. We got a few appetizers to start: bruleed oranges & grapefruit, warm fig and prosciutto flatbread, and the smoked salmon board. The bruleed oranges were great with the goat cheese. The flatbread was okay. It was kind of like a cracker. We ordered multiple things for our meals. I got the barbacoa huevos rancheros that was recommended by our waiter. I think it was the best out of everything we all ordered. I tried the southwestern chicken and waffles, the Nashville hot chicken, and the crab cake bendict as well. The Nashville hot chicken was very saucy. We mentioned it was our friend's birthday and our waiter brought out 6 mini cupcakes for us along with a sparkler and cotton candy. It was very cute. This place looked pretty decent and the staff was nice and prompt but I think it missed a few expectations. For starters I had the shrimp and crab cocktail. They had a tarter sauce mixed in a portion of it. I hate tarter sauce so that sort of ruined it for me. It wasn't even a good flavor, it was like any other tarter sauce which is bad. The shrimp and crab tasted fresh tho. My main was the seabass. I typically love sea bass. They have a sauce for it. However, I am dairy intolerant and could not have the sauce. For a more upscale eatery I am disappointed that there are not alternatives for dairy allergies. In fact, many of the menu items had to be avoided for this. There are plenty of dairy free milk, cheese, and butter alternatives that are much easier to tolerate. I would like to urge ownership investigate these options. My last qualm, my part ordered a white wine. They brought it out apologetically and asked if it was okay to server warm. We declined in ordered another instead. By the time it showed up we were half way through our entrees so declined the wine again. I think they were all very nice. The food was okay but lacking because I couldn't have dairy. But it was a lovely place, an a cool spot to dine. I'm sure those without dairy issues may have an more enjoyable experience. read more

From the moment you walk into this restaurant, you know you're in for something special. The decor is amazing. Such a well done fusion of classic meets modern meets Asian. The chandeliers in the bar are spectacular and the wicker swings in the front create a fun Tropical vibe. The tables are well spaced giving enough room in between to move around easily for both the servers and the patrons. But what about the food? Well I've got to return to adequately comment on the entrees because this was a pre-theatre dinner, we wanted to keep it light. So mostly we had soups and salads and cocktails. The cocktail menu is quite interesting, but I settled on one called Spa Day. It was light, and refreshing and would have been great to sip by the pool or on a beach. It was cucumber vodka, elderflower liqueur, coconut water, lime, and agave. Garnished with cucumbers and an orchid! Plus it was a beauty to look at as well as sip. I had the She Crab Bisque and it was as good as any in the Carolina's. Creamy, briny and delicious. I wanted to lick the bowl! Two others at our table had the French Onion Soup and both commented on how cheesy (in a good way) it was. Next up were the dumplings. Two of us shared them and it was the perfect amount to satisfy. They were also very yummy. Salads and the gnocchis were the next course. My daughter marveled at the gnocchi. She eats them often at restaurants and she said these rivaled the ones she loved at the old Papa J's in Carnegie. Those of us having salads chose the mixed greens or the Caesar. They were just the right amount and were very good. We ordered the side bread board to accompany our salads and there was a nice selection of cheesy breads, multi seeded pretzels and soft chewy breads served with two different compound butters. One sweet, one savory. Lastly we shared the dessert we came here for, the pretzel salad. Zoe does this classic in a new and fabulous way and it was not at all what I was expecting. Same flavors as Gram's but in a modern presentation. Fabulous! Our server was very nice and kept our water glasses full and brought us plates or silverware if we needed anything.
