I've lived in Yuma my entire life and never tried this place until today! All of the food was so delicious and they had an ample amount of servers. I also loved the bread service and the coziness of the place. The inside is quite small but they do have a nice outside dining area that is really nice during the winter nights. Visiting from out of town and wanted a steak, reviews were solid so I decided to check RCG out. I like the vibe of this place; definitely seems like a locals' favorite. Server was very friendly. Extensive menu, all of it looks pretty good. Reasonably priced food and drink, whatever that means in 2023. I went for the beef filet ($40) and a glass of red wine ($9). Everything was prepared well, but the meat was poor quality. Lots of sinew in the cut, difficult to chew at times and not typical of a quality tenderloin filet. Maybe a one-off? Either way, had to dock a star. I'll probably try this place again on my next visit. As stated above, I like the vibe. read more

We moved from California to Northern Arizona a couple of years ago and haven't found a restaurant where we went "wow". This hidden gem is Yuma not only has terrific food, but a very nice wine list. I had a very nice vegetable beef soup that was very nicely seasoned. For dinner my husband had a ribeye the size of his head with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I had a mustard crusted halibut, that was so good. Our server was tremendous, attentive without being intrusive. He made some a delicious recommendation with the wine (Chalk Hill chardonnay). My only complaint was that the room was too dark. It was hard to see our food even with sitting next to the window. We will be back for sure. read more

Gave a 2 star review because the entrees were not good. Normally we have the best food but after finding out the chef was out on Sunday the 28th, it made sense. The pistachio crusted salmon was overcooked and the sides were overwhelming. It was just a heaping pile of black beans, not good veggies and just a clump of salsa. The seafood fettuccine had a weird taste to it, it was almost like the cream was not good. The veggies were just piled on. We didn't eat most of the food. The only good thing that we did have is the crab and salmon cakes, those were delicious. read more

We went to River City Grill for the first time today. We stopped in for lunch because I had the day off with my wife. We ordered the curried mussels, I had the herb crusted dijon chicken and my wife ordered the coconut curried shrimp. The food was delicious. The curry had great flavor, mouthfeel and the right amount of spice. Although, if you enjoy more spice, I would ask for more. The chicken was cooked perfectly and not dry. The dijon sauce complimented the flavor of the herbs crusted onto the chicken. Compared to the Ironwood Steakhouse, where we recently went for her birthday, I'm wishing we would have stopped here first. Service was excellent and we had a nice conversation with our bartender. Zero complaints with the service. We ordered the appetizers first and about halfway through us finishing up with the appetizer, the bartender took our order for our entrees. This was nice because it allowed us to enjoy our appetizer and our drinks. This tells me that the kitchen and wait staff are in-tune and working together. It is a cozy place with indoor and outdoor seating. Compared to the other places we have been out to eat since we moved here not long ago, River City Grill has been the best so far. Food was excellent as always! We've been customers for eight years. We had a very unpleasant experience this last Friday with the bartender. My husband always orders an old fashion and noticed there was a very large ice cube with not much liquor. He mentioned it to our server who checked with the bartender and was told she put 2 ounces of liquor in the cocktail which is the norm. He was fine with her explanation and said he just won't order another old fashion again. A few minutes later the actual bartender came to our table, obviously upset and told my husband she made his cocktail the proper way with 2 ounces of liquor and told him that's the way we do it! He told her the server had already explained that but he would just not order another one at River City Grill. It was very embarrassing, she was so angry at him. This is a charming little restaurant located just west of 4th Ave almost in the middle of a neighborhood. May have been a corner store at one point but the food was phenomenal! The building is a little small but the patio area is lit up with outdoor lights that give it this charming ambiance. This was a great first date place and the food was salmon was famtastic. Overpriced. Poor service. Certainly not worth the $50+ per person. We chose patio which was like someone's backyard. Uneven brick floor. Had to ask for bread, butter, and drinks. Never again! Had been wanting to go there for 4 years! Went for my birthday. Ordered Halibut was raw, Ribeye and it was very tough! How can a ribeye be tough! We didn't complain at first, but decided it was a $40 steak I should tell them! The owner went and hid in the back and told the server sorry but she would not be discounting the meal! Never even offered a new one and made the server (Steven, who was great) tell me! Totally unprofessional!!! Okay so don't judge a book by its cover! Probably would have driven right by but had heard such great things! You step off the curb and enter a quaint and tasteful setting that is reminiscent of a little diner in Italy. You are greeted immediately by wait staff and seated. Nice table settings, linen, candles. You are promptly brought bread and water. Our waiter was excellent! We never waited more than a couple minutes for our drinks, salads and our dinners promptly followed. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Served hot with a lovely garlic butter. While visiting Yuma on business from the greater NYC area I came to this restaurant two nights in a row. The first night, I ate the rack of lamb and the Roasted tomato and red bell pepper bisque. Simply delicious! On the second night I had a masterpiece. For starters I have the curried mussels. For my entrée I had the Mustard crusted halibut with spinach ricotta ravioli, Alfredo, olive tapenade, feta and veggies. On the first night I went with a group from work and on the second night I sat at the bar. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all of the different food and alcohol options. One of the better places in town to eat. We hadn't been there since before covid and we were anxious to go out and have a nice dinner. When I opened the door the place smelled moldy. Maybe because of the recent rain. The salad was good and fresh. The waiter made my cocktail and I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. He told me he was trained to be a bartender in New Orleans and it's very welcome because getting a good cocktail in this town can be a challenge. The entree however was a complete disaster. I ordered cod and it came drowning in a sickening sweet raisin walnut sauce. The entire plate was swimming in this sauce. I couldn't eat it. Cod is a firm fish. The fish was mushy as if they microwaved and then fried it quickly. The sauce wasn't savory but sweet enough to be on ice cream. It was awful. Definitely go for the cocktails but be careful with the entrees. read more

We arrived about 520 ish not a huge wait, walked in was greeted and seated and had water and drinks in about 10 mints or so of us being greeted, seated, offered menus, and drinks. We the Bruschett combination, wasn't a real fan but gave it a try and to my surprise it tasted good lol. I had the Occco Busso(I think that how you spell it) it was delish tender fall off the bone, and the mash was amazing, with a side of roasted vegetables absolutely delish 4/5. My buddy has the Apricot Salmon, he like it as well, he also had the apple bread puddling, he liked it however said it really didn't have much flavoring of apple. We both ordered the NY steak. It was quality, very tasty and cooked to our order. We also ordered a side salad, no blue cheese dressing so we had Caesar salad it was so good made me forget about the blue cheese! Great mashed potatoes and Veggies too.
