When we arrived, I almost switched and went to Chili's, which is directly next door, but i'm glad that i didn't change my mind. This is a great place to go relax and have a nice meal. 5 Star casual escape! What a time I had at this restaurant with my party of 16. I recommend this restaurant for lunch. The view is as amazing as the service. We went in on a Sunday early afternoon and it was not crowded which was great. I cannot get over the atmosphere and the view of the lake you receive while sitting by the large bay style windows. I have been to this restaurant several times, but only once on purpose. The first time I went someone else took me as part of a group. The food was terrible, and most of us had mild food poisoning the next day. The second time, me and a few colleagues went for drinks and appetizers. The service was awful, but we didn't feel sick. The third time, I went on purpose, feeling like the first two times were a fluke and surely an restaurant that had been established for so long must be good. It was not - the food was awful and severely overpriced, and the staff was unprofessional. The fourth (and final) time I "won" a gift card for the restaurant for $50. My wife and I got the food to go. Our order was wrong and we had to return to the restaurant to fix it. The prime rib she ordered was probably 30% fat, and my steak was overcooked. Despite the fact that we got no appetizers and no drinks, the gift card barely covered the cost. The next day, we were both sick with mild food poisoning. It's hard for me to adequately express the horrific and deplorable quality of this restaurant. I can only imagine the reason it's still open is because it is next to a Chili's, so when Chili's is too busy maybe people come to River City Grille as their last resort. Let me give a piece of advice to those people: if you can't wait for Chili's to have an available table, and you literally cannot go to any other restaurant in a 100 mile radius, you're better off just being hungry. read more

This restaurant cares about their customers. Our lunch order was delayed. Instead of trying to hide the mistake, they took full responsibily for it. They were honest. They didn't try to hide it or make excuses. They took very good care of us, everything was made to our liking--as we had ordered. Even with the mistake, the service was outstanding! I was very disappointed in my experience at the restaurant I've been going to off and on since 2012. The service was awful, had to keep asking the waitress to clear Mt plates, keep my Tea glass full and she would disappear for long stretches. We had two appetizers. Crab cakes and Onion Rings. They where not freshly made and had a frozen burnt taste. For the price,I expected it to be freshly made. Not pulled out of the freezer. The Crab Cakes where hard and dry. Great restaurant in Marble Falls. A lot of parking and we went on Mothers Day and just walked in! The calamari is a little chewy but all of our entrees were great. My family got the cobb salad and catfish sandwich. Great service and beautiful view obviously. read more

We were in the hill country celebrating my birthday this year and went here for lunch. I got wine and my husband ordered a bloody mary. Both were good, I think I liked the bloody mary more though. We shared a salad and some fried okra. Overall I thought the food was great I especially liked the home made caesar dressing and the fried okra. The veggies in the salad were super fresh. The ambiance of the area was nice too because its near the water. The coolest thing about this place was that they referred to us as a 'Family'. I think the waitresses' name was Cami. When she came to our table she would say things like 'how are you doing family?' or 'Hey family how is everything tasting?' We've been married for 7 years and don't have kids so it was really nice to hear someone refer to us as a 'family'. Nobody has ever done that before. It sounds silly, but it just felt really inclusive that she chose to call us a 'family' because society doesn't view us as a 'family' even though we are one. This does not necessarily speak to us specifically, but not everyone can have kids and become a 'family', so it was nice to hear that. We went to the grill today with my friends service dog. We sat on the porch & asked for water for her service dog. They said they have a rule to give no food or water to dogs there. My friend being a retired military person stated not even for my service dog? She told them how we had been on the lake and she was hot. They refused. The Notorious RCG is on the river and has a great view from the gorg elevated patio looking out over the river. This is how most people come to learn of the joint since it is not Chilis (the chain) next door and is the only other option directly on the river with a serene view. A few minor annoyances prevent a full five star yelp rating but this is a high four star experience for most things so drink your juice first and ask questions later, Shelby. My first minor annoyance was walking into a not-busy restaurant with multiple tables open inside, multiple tables open out on the patio, and a parking lot that is not busy - yet the hostess says it is going to be a wait of 15 minutes for a table. K, sweetie. That didn't really add up at first. But it seemed to add up later on. Once seated after a lengthy wait in a resto that was not that busy at the time our waitress was clearly flustered, overwhelmed, and seemingly annoyed at us for just sitting down. It started to add up quickly that she was working the entire patio by herself. She told the hostess or the hostess picked up on that fact and held back the flow of new tables until the waitress could get caught up with what she already had in front of her. I turned on the charm bomb and the waitress slowly thawed out since none of my requests were difficult so it's not like I was going to multiply her workload. The wine selections were not extensive (considering this is semi-Hill Country wine country) but offered some pleasant patio daydrinking options in the gentlesir's $7-10 range per glass which lets you flex on your peers that smuggle in boxes of franzia in their purse. Becker was very well represented at this resto which gave me the sads I would not have the time to visit their actual vineyard for a tasting but at least I got a taste of their offerings here first. Their menu called specific attention to their award winning burgers so who was I to argue with that. I went with the ghost pepper cheese burger because I like things as hot as they can go. I want to be on the floor crying, more than usual. Unfortch this was hardly even pepper jack at best, it was just not hot at all. That being said, the burger itself was fantastic when you pulled away from the lack of heat. The bun was soft and pillowy; dreamy in a word. The meat was juicy. The sautéed onions were juicy, saucy, and randy. What is not to like? This is why those burgers right here get voted best in class. You never know what you are going to get when you dine outside and that turned out to be true. The table next to us, filled with the elderly, were being attacked by a wasp. One of the men at the table - my hero - puffed his chest out and took matters into his own hands and killed the wasp by slamming his palm down on it. I asked my dining companion to send him a drink for putting in the lord's work on one of those abominations and affronts to god. That was all well and fun with the wasp at the other table but then the dead wasp's lover/brother (a Mississippi wasp so maybe both?) upset at all the mayhem and carnage got in the mood to do an early 90s Crip/Blood gang war drive by of all bystanders and then attacked my table. Well for one, I didn't have an epi-pen and I am allergic to stings from those turkeys. That part did not make me happy. A resto that has a patio exposed to the elements and keeps a staff member armed with a flamethrower on wasp patrol is a resto that will get five stars from me. A resto that makes me face my demogorgons and wasps alone is one that gets four stars at best regardless of how beautimous their burgers are. This is one of the last restaurants I ate at with my dad before he unexpectedly died a few weeks ago, so this dinner out on the river patio was a fine piece of our final memories together in his beloved Texas Trill Country. read more

worst service ever I sat in the bar area a young man came and took my order fairly quickly and then I sat there for 45 minutes while everyone else around me got served he never came over to tell me what the delay was. I couldn't catch his eye, I will never go to this place again. I will never recommend it. It was horrible. Worst service ever. Starting off, when we walked in we were greeted in a very timely manner. We only had to wait about 5 mins for a table during the dinner rush which was a very pleasant surprise! Now when we got to our table that's when things got kinda weird. I had no issue with any of the waitstaff, but some of the customers were just glaring at me and whispering around me. I don't really fit in with the societal norms anywhere around here so I was pretty used to it and I was able to laugh it off, but beware that the people that go there to eat may just gossip around you like middle schoolers. Onto the food, I had the calamari, and the fried catfish sandwich. It was so incredibly good!! The calamari was very well cooked, and the marinara sauce was nice and warm, and almost seemed hand made. The catfish burger was delicious, very moist and flaky! Adding the sauces that come with it are an absolute must, they brought out so much of the flavor! Other than the rude customers, the entire place was very sweet and homey. We ordered the Green Chile Cheese Burger today, , we've had the cheese burger before without the green chile and it was delicious the green chile cheese didn't disappoint either, Except for the Green Chile. I hope they really plan to get Green Chile from New Mexico, because the green Chile that was used on our cheese burger was sadly, sadly mild, the menu calls for "Spicy " green chile. I lived in New Mexico for about 25 years before moving back home to Texas and trust me, the green chile served here needs some serious understanding what the term "spicy" means.. We got a small table/booth by the kitchen so didn't really see the views. Staff was friendly. I ordered the grilled fish with green beans, father ordered the fried catfish and husband ordered a burger. I liked mine. My father really liked his and my husband said his was ok. He probably ordered the wrong thing. I ordered a glass of wine and it wasn't really good. Like maybe the bottle has been open too long not good vs. not to my taste. Food was delivered quickly and price is good. Easy parking. Great place for a dinner. Probably still make the Bluebonnet our go to but nice to have other options in the area. Our experience started with the soda machine being bad, we then waited 35 minutes for our appetizers of onion rings to arrive ice cold. Then our main courses came out wrong and dry and hard as a rock. Our waiter told us they would comp the APP as we had them take them away but after speaking with the manager she let us know she could only take a percentage off of the check which did not cover the onion rings let alone anything else.
