We started with the BK salad which was quite enough to share with a large amount of chicken. I would definitely recommend the chipotle vinaigrette dressing. I had the Buffalo chicken tacos for dinner. The chicken portions were huge and tasty. The rest of the dish was plain but solid. My wife had the fried shrimp. Food quality was overall good. Price a little high for hers for what you got but not terrible. The salad and tacos were quite reasonably priced. Our server had a trainee so not sure if the reason our service was slow but definitely slow service for how empty the restaurant was when we were there. This is a nice place to grab a bite when driving through. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the view of the river. The food was good but what stood out was the green chili and cheese potatoes, they were fantastic! The waitress was very nice , the food good and the view great. First time here and the food was delicious and we had excellent customer service. From the moment we entered we were greeted with smiles and friendliness . I had the tortilla fried catfish which had a nice twist of sitting on a bed of queso which added such a good flavor. My husband had the Paul's chicken dish and he loved the flavor and crusted potato chips. And I can't forget about the fried onion tower.. yum! We sat on the patio so had a gorgeous view. A solid 5 stars for food quality, service, friendliness, and willingness to accommodate a fairly large party (eleven), with some having food sensitivities. We had reservations for Mother's Day - adding two last-minute guests that morning (my fault for miscounting). Thank you, Will. The table was ready 5-10 minutes before our reservation time, and they seated us as we arrived. That was nice. A great table with a very nice waterfront view. Everyone was happy with their meals, ranging from entree salads to catfish to burgers. I can attest the mushroom Swiss burger is very good. Fries were excellent. And my side salad was simple, but fresh. All of their dressings are house made (a huge kudos in my book) Pricing is very reasonable, IMHO, without any gimmicky add-on fees. They do add a 20% tip for parties larger than eight. Very fair. We were able to split the check too, among the five couples. We all appreciated that. Our server, Denise, was super attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Her timing on checking on us was terrific. I 'tipped up' a few bucks on the final, to make it around 25%. First things first, do not order a margarita. It was terrible and the drinks take forever to get to your table. Server was very young and very sweet. You could tell she was a little shy. Food took a while to get to the table. Which is kind of ok, unless you are actually hungry. I guess you know they took their time. Drinks and food have always been excellent. Service on point. Tonight Chris, Isahia and Zach at the bar were awesome. My husband and I were looking for a place to go to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. A friend highly recommended the steaks, said it was the best she'd had in a while. We had never been here so we decided to check it out. Sadly, it was very disappointing. The good: the fried calamari was tasty and the staff (waitress and manager) were friendly and helpful. The bad: the hand cut rib eye was dry and over cooked! The slow cooked green beans looked and tasted like canned green beans! And the baked potato was cold! The ugly: the FLIES were horrible! They kept flying around my husband's head and landing on him throughout the meal. We almost left before our food came because they were so annoying! Both were wonderful. Very seldom does Glenda finish a sandwich! Fries were good and the coleslaw was wonderful. I'm a huge fan of Long John Silver's coleslaw, sweet and creamy. Very few places make it like that. River City Grille's was a perfect copy! Glenda stopped me from licking the bowl. A great place for a casual bite. They have a good selection of foods, the kind you can find in your usual good diners. Staff are friendly. The best part is the location: it overlooks the Colorado River, providing a great view while you eat. Prices are on par for the area. The only downside we've encountered, the waits can be bad during rush hour. We've waited over half an hour for sandwiches. Good food, beautiful view. The outdoor seating overlooks the river. The dining room is all windows so you can sit in the ac and still have a view. I'd imagine before covid the dining room held a few more tables. The Paul's chicken is a large breast breaded in chips, topped with lots of hatch Chile and shredded cheese. I liked it better after asking for a side of white gravy. The green beans are honest, not cooked to death, still green. The baked potato was typical, though not seasoned on the outside like I'm used to. All in all, it's plenty. The chicken fried steak was two pieces, actually seasoned in the breading, tender enough, and disappeared quickly. Gravy is good too. The scratch cheesecake was good. I got plain, without toppings, which they offer a few. It's baked, not too dense, thick enough crust. The bread pudding was a cereal bowl full of yummy. Pecans and raisins all smothered in a bourbon sauce, not an icing. Very good. Prices are a smidge high, but expected for the area. Staff was pleasant, quick to respond. The ambiance alone should have made this an easy 4-star experience and a 5-star if everything was cooked properly and tasted good; those two stars were theirs to lose ... and they did. First off, our waiter was very good. The restaurant wasn't that busy, but he was efficient, responded honestly to menu selections, and he was quite pleasant. The ambiance from the deck is nice. The music was a mix of older pop and soft rock and just loud enough to be heard as background ... well done there. The menu is all over the place. It's as though there they went to a couple of chains - you will recognise them from the menu - and tried to be all things to all people. To give you a clue: 8 dinner salads. They really need to pare the menu down and perfect the dishes they serve. My spouse had the fish tacos. The filets were soggy, not crisp; disappointing. They weren't even served at the right temp. The restaurant wasn't that busy. Cole slaw was good. There is a very limited gluten-free menu. Surprisingly, anything with cheese was labelled as not being gluten-free. The waiter was unsure why. Pretty sure he wasn't familiar with the gluten free concept, but that's fine. We have learned to ask the proper questions to determine the safeness of an item. I had a steak, baked potato and green beans. Steak was actually tasty- no seasoning per request - and cooked properly with a light sear. The potato and green beans were served cool. The service we receive was 5 stars alone. Our waitress, Savannah, was outstanding. She was very kind, patient, and attentive. I came in with my family, of which multiple people are hard of hearing and/or attention deficient. (No, I am not one of those people who think they are normal and think their family is weird, if you ask them, they will freely admit it!) I think most people would plaster a fake smile and just grin and bear it, but I was so impressed how she helped my father and mother-in-law. We came in for happy hour. The fish cakes and pulled pork quesadilla were tasty, but the margaritas were just ok. However, the desserts looked amazing and we shared chocolate cake and bread pudding. Terrible food good view! We are here in Marble Falls doing contract work. We are desperately looking for good restaurants. This one had good ratings so we chose to come to river city grill for the lake views and the supposed "good food". Wow were we disappointed. We ordered the queso/salsa and chips for starters, it tasted like Velveeta cheese with store bought salsa added to it, the separate bowl of salsa tasted ok. I had the chicken strips dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans. The mashed potatoes were cold and didn't taste like much, the green beans were saturated in water and tasted like they were straight from the can, brine and all. The chicken strips were good enough to eat one and the creamed gravy was like tasteless white hot jello pudding. My hubby ordered the chicken sandwich and as soon as he bit into it we were worried it was either undercooked, fake or old over-cooked chicken breast. It was very disappointing and disgusting. He couldn't take another bite. The server was great she tried her very best to do what was in her control and had her manager comp the sandwich and the queso and chips (due to the food taking almost an hour to come out to our table). Spoiler: The expectations were high because of reputation. The food was okay. The facility was okay. The staff was okay. The view was gorgeous. Wouldn't recommend as the one place to go when in town. Trust Yelp. We are visiting Texas for the first time. River City Grill was recommended by the vacation facility and recommended by others we asked for recommendations . The reputation was very high and we were very interested in going. The first "sign" that it might not live up to the hype was that the hours sign. The hours were printed on a printer and scotch taped over the old hours. The second "sign" was the uninviting and bland decor both in the foyer and the restaurant itself. What exactly is the cover of that round seat suppose to be? Cow? Horse? Very strange. Third was that the staff wasn't welcoming and warm and happy, as restaurant staff should be. More efficient than anything else. Everyone was nice enough, but there was a big build up to us going there. Our seats were not close to to the window, but the view of the river was still amazing. If it wasn't so hot out, the deck would have been even better. The waitress was good. She was quick enough and kept the drinks full. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. Finally the real reason for three stars:. the food was just average. I've been in other restaurants that the environment and staff were "okay", but the food was amazing. I can forgive most flaws if the food is excellent. The food here was just okay. My pulled pork was okay. It was well cooked and tender, but it was bland. My wife's steak sandwich was literally a slab of steak on a bun. Different than expectations but maybe that is a signature item. But it was just okay. My father-in-law's Reuben, again, just okay The place has unlimited potential, but it didn't live up to the reputation or recommendations. I should have checked Yelp first. The restaurant deowasn't welcoming and inviting. Rather plain and dull. The the woman at the front desk was polite but not welcoming. The service was fine. They had a bit of a snafu with a brand new busboy who cleared my drinks while I was in the restroom but they fixed it quickly! I'm surprised by the low ratings. Bf and I came here on a Sunday around noon. The photos of the views was why captured our attention in our search for a brunch spot. We were greeted with friendly smiles and seated (outside on the patio) after a brief 3 minute wait. The water views were gorgeous. Exactly what we needed after a long and eventful night the night before. We both order sandwiches (turkey/ham and a BLT). Both orders came with fries and were a nice portion. Perhaps, our choices were safe ones but we enjoyed every bit of our meal, service and the views this restaurant had to offer. The place was also very busy! My boyfriend were spending a night at the Hampton Inn in the same parking lot so I figured we should eat here instead of the Chili's (although I love me some skillet queso). The view is the reason to come here, followed by the food. They have 2 patio setups, the lower deck juts out over the water more so than the higher-up deck. Our server was fantastic. She was speedy and helpful. I ordered the green chile tacos with green rice and my boyfriend had the fried catfish with mashed potatoes. My dish came with three massive tacos, but I had to ask for fresh cilantro and limes to brighten up the flavors. My boyfriend's dish was simple but well executed. Fish was cooked perfectly. He actually commented that his green beans were really good--so many places tend to oversalt but these weren't. Overall, a good dinner with a great view. read more

Ok so we stopped here today at around 4pm and I'm only giving 1 star because the female teenage hostess was so unfriendly and un welcoming! In my opinion she was kind of rude, I didn't see one single smile from her the whole time we were there. She looked like she was upset at the world (seriously!), not at all approachable. You're working in the customer service field my friend, you NEED to be warm, friendly and welcoming to your guests!! One thing I witnessed was an elderly couple walked in, the woman had a walking cane and her husband was walking behind her, they couldn't keep up with the walking speed of the hostess and didn't see where she went so they stopped right at the beginning of the indoor dining area looking for her to know which way to go. The hostess was at the very back of the room just looking at them and then she walked closer to them, stood about 5 feet from them, waited for the couple to notice her and then gave them the rudest face of "hello, I'm right here, why didn't you keep up with me?!" Very annoyed looking. Literally didn't say a word to them, she just waited for them to start moving towards her and then she walked back again to the table. She didn't even bother waiting for them and pretended she didn't notice that the woman had a walking cane and hence looking down most of the time that's why she couldn't keep up. In my opinion this is very UNPROFESSIONAL behavior, as a hostess you're supposed to cater to the customers who require extra attention, she very clearly did none of that AND then as she walked away and got to the a darker bar area she proceeded to take her phone out...I'll sorry but this is very unacceptable! Not single drop of customer service skills from her or what you expect from a hostess... But the rest of the experience was good, our male waiter was very nice and greeted us nicely. He took our food order and we didn't wait too long for it. My husband and I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was delicious! My mom ordered the cheese burger and she said it was really good! I also like that the other female waitress (blonde hair wearing a flower shirt) was very nice and promptly asked us if we had been helped once she saw us sitting with no drinks or food (our waiter had just taken our drink order that's why) but I really appreciated her attentiveness and asking and making sure we were taken care of! She's the one that brought us our food too and she was very nice!
