Well... We were visiting Horseshoe Bay for Spring Break and after a day of activities looked for a restaurant with patio dining. We arrived and the hostess was very pleasant. We were seated outside although we were warned it was extremely windy. The view was nice though. Our waitress was also very sweet. Now the food...was less than ideal. Our entire party did not enjoy thier food. I hate to be overly critical but the food was not good at all. No seasoning, overcooked, cold, DRY...Need I say more. My 6 year old son said, Whataburger is better. Sorry but this wasn't good. read more

We went for dinner while we were staying at a condo nearby. The food was very good and the service was good. I got chicken fried steak, my husband got catfish and my daughter got Mac n cheese and broccoli. We all enjoyed our food and pretty much ate it all. I didn't care for my drink but mostly because it tasted like it was made with a ready-made piña colada mix but I guess that's pretty standard in most places. The view was lovely but we didn't eat on the porch because it was too hot. If we are in town when the weather is nicer it would be nice to sit and enjoy the river view. read more

Marble Falls didn't seem to have much to offer in terms of dining experiences, at least that was my attitude at first. My husband, daughter and I stumbled across this place and were pretty hungry after exploring the Long Horn Caverns. The decor is a bit to be desired, and I expected the food to be of the same 'quality'. I was very wrong. Our waitress was friendly and wonderful. She recommended the mashed potatoes and they were fabulous. The country music was annoying, but the food.....was very good and the view of the lake was beautiful. I ordered a bloody Mary which was very good and the Reuben. I was pleasantly surprised with the good food. I will absolutely go back to this place. My husband got fried fish- my daughter got fish tacos. We also had dessert. Let me just say, we left very full and very satisfied. read more

Came for an early dinner last night with my daughter and her husband, because we opted for first available were seated immediately in the bar area. Service was good but had no view whatsoever of the lake. Son in law and I both got beers on tap and they were delicious, daughter was not as happy with the iced tea. A family came in with around 6 young children who were climbing on everything, happily they were given their own back room...our food was very, very good. He ordered blackened salmon with broccoli and a side salad with blue cheese. She ordered the Buffalo chicken tender tacos which were huge and fried. I got the catfish tacos which came with fries. Had to bring 2 of my 3 home which made grandson very happy. Fish could have been a little crispier but taste was delicious. Looking forward to next visit and hopefully a lake view. read more

Good food, Good atmosphere, GREAT VIEW! This place is right on Lake Marble Falls an has a deck that sits about 30ft above the water. The food is pretty good as well! Id recommend any burger actually. Make sure you get a table on the deck so you can also enjoy the veiws while you dine! read more

In from out of town, decided to give this place a go since the reviews said it seemed better than Chili's. Very disappointed in our selection. The only thing good with the drinks. Their Ruben was so greasy it upset my stomach. Their salad was dirty and had literal dirt in it as well as a bug that I had to pull out. At no point did the waiter even comment on the fact that I had my salad set to the side with the dirt visible. Their mac & cheese was also disgusting, my five-year-old who will eat every mac & cheese out there barely even touched it. Stopped into this local restaurant upon a local's recommendation and I am so glad we did! We opted to sit on the patio and enjoyed the most breathtaking view of the river at sunset. A short time later we had a front row seat to the town's Christmas light display. The food was tasty and clever. I had the grilled pork chop with green chile rice and house salad. The waiter was incredibly helpful and made great recommendations for us newbies. When I asked his advice between Chipotle vinagrette and green chile ranch dressing, he offered to mix them. Let me start out by saying our waitress, Kate, was amazing, but the kitchen staff and management was the absolute worst I've seen. We were seated at our table at 8:05pm. Ordered drinks and appetizers and received them fairly quickly. Ordering our entrees is where things began to go south. We did not receive our food until 9:50pm (almost two hours after arriving). While we waited, our waitress was constantly checking in on us, refilling glasses and offered to bring a small appetizer out while we waited. Tables around us that arrived after we did; received their food and left prior to us receiving our meals. When the food finally arrived, two of our meals were incomplete because they were out of the food requested in our order. When it was addressed with management, he walked off from the table while we we're speaking with him. After asking our amazing waitress to call the manager back over to the table, he just walked over said "we've comp'd your ticket and that's all I can do," then walked off again. In the end, our waitress apologized for the poor service we received from the member of management, but in the end she has nothing to apologize for. I am a tourist visiting the lake so I probably won't visit again, but if I was a local resident and received this kind of service I would never visit again. **Inappropriate language was never used towards wait staff or the manager, we simply asked what the status of our order was and expressed our concern and lack of enjoyment around the service. The waitress was amazing and we were extremely pleased with the service she provided, however our experience with the manager was what made things even worse. When we began to express our concern is when the manager walked off. Poor management skills in the managers part. read more

Walked in about 5 mins ago and was immediately accosted by the hostess for not bringing outside food or drinks in. What I had was an empty cup that I wanted to put ice water in for my 3 hour drive home when I left. Hopefully the food is amazing because so far the attitude is crap. It is generally not good business to alienate the customers before they are even seated. After being bad mouthed to other staff members in front of customers, the general manager finally stepped in and took charge of the situation. Good news is that the experience got substantially better. The waitress did an excellent job. The food was plentiful but not really exceptional. All in all, the meal was good but not something I would drive out of my way for. The Cobb salad and Chef salad were enormous. The grilled chicken was a bit chewy but the roasted veggies were good. I am here out of town opening a new store up and I have been begging the other management team to come here all week FINALLY after several days they give in....I was so disappointed!!! The service was horrible. There were 5 of us and we were given a table barely big enough to accommodate 4 people we asked if we could get another table added and our waitress said yes...after it was cleaned off and the waitress started to move it and the man who I assume was the manager came over and rudely told us we couldn't have the table as if we made the decision to just take the table he said well the last 5 people sat there with no problem we'll We weren't comfortable there and we were ok waiting but the service was horrible we all got up and left needless to say I was sad and slightly embarrassed that I basically harassed my company to take me there and it turned out how it did read more

We have visited this restaurant frequently and have always loved it. However our recent experience 9/28/22 was terrible. We sat inside by the windows and spent the entire time shooooing away flies vs enjoying our appetizer. The chopped steak tasted like it was soaked in kerosene literally like it had chemicals through the entire steak. Told our waitress for health reasons and to potentially save someone else. She let the manager know who never apologized for the terrible meal or even acknowledged us. Super sad and we have always enjoyed stopping by but that will be our last trip there. read more

Had dinner here, which was average and the service was clumsy. They brought us chips and queso, with no side plates or serving spoons. The queso was runny enough where you could not eat it on the chips without a plate without making a huge mess. Took forever to get drinks. I then returned to my hotel room to take a call for a few minutes and then wanted to come back for dessert. The restaurant is still over half full but the bartender told me they were closed. This after I had been here with clients 3 times in the past two days and spent hundreds of dollars here. I ran into the manager on the way out and she accommodated me. So a 3. Don't eat here!! We were in town visiting our family and six of us came in @ 5:40pm to what it looked like an empty restaurant. The hostess proceeded to tell us that we could sit outside immediately, or we could wait for 35 minutes for a table inside. We all looked at each other confused, because it's was a toasty 105 degrees outside and we had a baby with us. My BIL asked if they were short on staff and was why it would take so long to sit us, but she said that they simply could not put together a table for 6. My BIL just said, ok then we will go somewhere else and left. A restaurant that cannot make accommodations to sit 6 people will probably not be in business for long. The only conclusion we came to, was that these people did not want to bother serving a family with a baby. Never going back, you guys suck. read more

So so disappointed!! We loved this place. It has the best view and ambience and did have the best service and food!! Our good friends and us decided to make the 1.5 hr drive to Marble Falls to eat at our favorite place and do some shopping. Our Waitress showed up at the table with a "I don't want to be here" attitude. She brought us our drinks then disappeared for a little longer than needed!! Took our orders and we didn't see her again until the food was ready.. I ordered fish tacos, fried fish, and they wrapped it because it was supposed to keep it warm... no it steamed the fish and it was nice and soggy!! My friends chicken with green chili sauce was over cooked! No sauce just green chilis and cheese that didn't even melt! Her husbands hamburger steak had no flavor and skimpy gravy!! My husbands chicken fry he said was ok but not worth the trip!! I tried talking to the management but only got excuses and she was very rude to me. She would interrupt me before I completed a sentence.. I know times are tough, it's hard to keep help, but excuses doesn't bring the customer back.. well there are several other restaurants we have wanted to try in the area!! read more

"Starts in the Kitchen" is the motto for this restaurant but it just did not work for us on Saturday. There are so many wonderful reviews of the River City Grille and I really wish I could add to these. But ... It began with the manager telling me how hard the restaurant business is today. He was short staff and doing his best. Let me start with the men's bathroom - no paper towel and when I told staff, it was "yeah, we know ... it has been that way all day." My next thought was " wow, what does this tell me about the kitchen"/" The meal - my meal was very good. My wife ordered a pulled pork with no bread. My son, the "Monster Club Sandwich. Wife's pork came with a hamburger bun but that is no big deal ... just take off the bun. But my son's "monster club (their name for their club" came with no bread. Not the 3 layers of toasted bread ... no bread. Just ham, lettuce, and 1 slice of bacon. When I told the waitress, her solution was to take the hamburger bun and put it on the club. I told her to take it back and make it right. The manager then came out with a sandwich with 2 slices of bread - a club without the center toast, no mayonnaise, 1 slice of bacon. My wife gave me that look and I knew she did not want me to send it back. Then the manager told me this is the way he liked a club "without the center toast ... and the way they made it' ... and I wanted to scream, "I did not order it the way you like it". And then I thought of the men's bathroom - and I thought again of their motto - "starts in the kitchen" ... we ate and left ... read more

I've been coming to river city since 2004, most of the time enjoying the balcony while I took a break during a hill country ride. I've enjoyed many good meals there over the years. My circumstances have changed (wife became wheelchair dependent during an extended recovery, and so we see the hill country from a two seater. We stopped in to get a meal, an literally watched 10 people who came in after us get seated. After listening to the host yuck it up with other restaurant personnel, and after waiting 20 minutes for a seat in a 1/2 full restaurant, I told her that we were giving up on her and would likely try the competition.....to which she encouraged me to check them out. ??? So I'm no longer a fan of river city grill. I can't believe the restaurant would discriminate against a couple of old folks, one in a wheelchair, but I really didn't get the sense they wanted our business. Your mileage may very. read more

August 29th, I took my parents to eat here thinking that it would be a step up from the Blue Bonnet Café but I was wrong. The food for the most part was terrible. We had all ordered a salad and all 3 salads were the oldest looking salads we have ever received in any restaurant in my 50+ years on this planet. My father ordered a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. And the mashed potatoes were totally cold. We even had to ask for the butter because the waitress didn't even think to bring that. I had ordered a hamburger with blue cheese and when I received the hamburger the blue cheese on it was the oldest looking blue cheese I have ever seen. It looked like some kind of paste and looked all gray on top. Also it was obvious that there was no real training given to the waitstaff. The waitress we had was wearing shorts and the waiter for a table next to us was carrying their plates right on top of each other. When we left and said good bye to the greeter at the front entrance, she just kept looking forward and didn't say a word. I was very sad that I had to have my parents go thru such an experience and to have paid over $100 for a chicken fried steak and 2 hamburgers with salads that we only partially ate since it had been so bad, we had all lost our appetite.
