This is a gem! I had the catfish sandwich with Frys. It wasn't a regular fish sandwich! The bun is the size of a saucer with 2 catfish filets,lettuce, and tomatoes. It was very good. But my husband had their tortilla crusted catfish served on a green chili cheese sauce. Now that was delicious. It's served with 2 sides. This is a convenient place to eat if you're staying at one of the nearby hotels and don't want to travel far. It has some outdoor seating with a view of the lake. The food quality is not in line with the price point. We had their Ghost Pepper cheeseburger (not spicy at all) 3 stars, pork quesadillas 2 stars, spinach dip 4 stars, original cheeseburger 4 stars, Michelle Mexican Martini 1 star ( taste like a regular margarita in a small martini glass), and the spicy Bloody Mary 1 star. Traveling through marble falls stopped here to enjoy the river and have a nice dinner for my husband's birthday. If I could give it negative stars I would. Apparently management is lacking in customer service skills. Ordered my steak medium rare it came on the strong side of medium. Waitress offered to redo it. She came back a few minutes later to let us know the kitchen was working on a new steak and she scrapped the overdone steak off my plate onto another plate leaving my sides getting colder as I waited on the new steak. Grease dripping off the side of my plate, it was real classy. Second steak finally arrived well underdone and heavily seasoned. Tried to go with it because I was VERY hungry at this point. Almost chocked on the bite I took, far to tough, by this time my sides were completely cold. To the waitresses credit she did check back again. I told her it was too tough to chew. My husband informed her we were not paying for that steak. When she brought the check to us she informed us that we weren't paying for the steak, just $3.00 for my sides, you know the ones that got cold waiting on the inedible steak, the ones that I barely touched. Customer service was so poor and appalling it inspired me to write my VERY FIRST Yelp review. Website says this restaurant was voted best overall restaurant in this town. Our dining experience started out well. The hostess and waitress were well trained and pleasant. The queso we ordered had green chili's inside and it was delicious. The food took longer than usual for a 5pm dinner however the food portions for the fried catfish plate was large which was nice. My pork tacos and my daughters chicken tacos did not have much flavor which was discouraging but they looked delicious before diving in. Later after we paid, we made a to-go order since we're staying at the hotel next door. We figured we would give their desserts a shot. We ordered the carrot cake, chocolate cake and the apple pie with ice cream which made the total $30! Crazy expensive.... Once we opened the to-go containers at the hotel we discovered my sons chocolate cake was frozen and had to be microwaved, my wife's apple pie was not frozen but cold. We ate here Friday night for the first time. It was really good. We were seated promptly and the waitress was very polite. I had the fried pork chops with chipotle gravy. They were amazing. For dessert I had the chocolate cake. It was hot and sooo delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be going here again in the future. My boyfriend and I came here because we like to chose to support local businesses over chains when possible, and we wanted to enjoy a view of the water. I paid $35 + tip dollars for two sodas,a disgusting catfish sandwich straight from China, and a chicken breast that managed to be tough despite swimming in oil. The broccoli was clearly frozen, more whitish and brown than green, and saturated in cooking oil. The service was sloOoOw despite it not being too crowded, but the waiter was nice enough. When I walked in and throughout my meal I could smell years of spilled food and grease emanating from the carpet and seat upholstery. Gross. I would only come back here for drinks and the view. Been there many times, never once had bad food or bad service. The Prime rib on Sundays is indeed Prime rib, the Texas Ruben is great, as are the burgers. Best burger ever! And I live in Austin where I pay a fortune for mediocre burgers touted as the best. I sat on the patio over looking the river and had great drinks as well. They have a great menu and reasonable prices. I was staying at nearby Horseshoe Bay Resort and couldn't take another meal of buffet feeding troughs. I definitely made the right choice taking the 10 minute drive to River City Grille. A manager (?) even came by to make sure everything was ok. That never happens anymore at restaurants. If you are taking a day trip from Austin or the resort, stop in and eat and drink. read more

River City Grille means summer fun! Its perfect after a day on lake Marble Falls! The view is breath taking, you MUST sit outside. I had the tortilla fried catfish with homemade mashed potatoes, which was one of the BEST things I have ever tasted! My dish was also reasonably priced. The staff is fast and very kind. I enjoyed every minute of my delightful, sunset dinner with my family! I highly recommend eating here if you are in the Lake LBJ or marble falls area. mmmm mmmm good!! read more

First, it isn't fine dining. If you're expecting orange roughy or filet mignon, go someplace else, probably in Austin. The food they *do* offer is mostly homemade and heavenly. The Caesar dressing is homemade and divine. The chicken was great; the prime rib was slightly dry, hence the four stars. However, the lakeside view from the deck was great and the carrot cake was *worth the trip here.* Warm, homemade, and tasty. Probably in the top three of my carrot cake ranking. Overall, well worth the stop. There's a Hampton Inn next door, so this is a destination night. Well worth the stop. read more

Called 2 min before getting there to make sure the wait time was acceptable for a group of nine and the manager lied and said we took 10 minutes to get there and the tables that they could have used for us, were given to other parties and that they couldn't hold the tables for us. Real New Mexican Hatch Green Chile can be found in Texas at the RCG. Their Hatch Green Chile comes on numerous menu items and that chile's got some kick. I got a Green Chile burger and it was good, messy, but good. How good? When I got full my friend finished it. How messy? I went through 4 napkins, and the lady next to me used a fork (which I saw her do after I finished). My friend had the catfish which he scarfed down. We didn't have the service issues other Yelpers have had, but it was not crowded when we were there. They also served our drinks in plastic cups we could take home. Yeah free plastic cups. The patio is pretty awesome, bring your sunscreen if you plan on staying there long. read more

Terrible service I said if I can have a kathies sweet tea thinking it would be just sweet tea and then I said sorry I thought that was regular sweet tea and then I saw them pointing at me and staring and then one of them came just to walk past and look at me and everyone was pointing at me and laughing I was very embarrassed and the lady told everyone I didn't even want to look at her but I remember she had all red hair we were sitting in the very left of the restaurant in a room Well enough of that now my family ordered calamari and it tasted like it was frozen then after microwaved my dad got the pork chops and he said it was very sweet my brother got the pork sandwich he said it was ok my mom didn't eat her chicken fried steak I ordered the boneless buffalo tenders they would have been better if they were hot they were very very cold I do not know If you will like this restaurant but my family said it was ok but they would not want to come back but overall I would give this one star because the food was ok and I would not like to go to a restaurant that laughs at you the whole time about a little mistake and tell the rest of the employees and a restaurant with terrible service and plus we paid and it took them 15 minutes to give our change from our expensive meal I do not recommend this resaurant read more

Extremely disappointing experience altogether. You're truly paying for the view for a restaurant that isn't even comparable to a chain steakhouse/roadhouse type restaurant (e.g. Texas Roadhouse). The service was choppy and slow. Our server was very inattentive and distracted - looking right down at empty glasses on our table, and dashing off without asking about refills or anything - despite her not being busy. The food really made this a truly awful experience, though. Very bland, unimpressive dishes that made no effort to win over patrons via a terrible presentation. I had coconut gulf shrimp with mashed potatoes. The breading was weak, and bland while falling off the shrimp. The shrimp itself was smaller than jumbo gulf shrimp, tasting like it had merely been defrosted. The mashed potatoes were dry and mainly flavorless - akin to instant potatoes. My mom had the gumbo - that was also flavorless, and tasted like the base had been burned. The rest of my party had luke-warm steaks that mirrored the above experiences. All of our dishes were inedible. Skip this place...you'd be better off just going to the Chili's next door for better food, experience/service while getting the same view. read more

After a day crawling around Longhorn Caverns, I went here for dinner with a friend last week. The place was pretty packed, so either there were a lot of out-of-towners there like us, or the good people of Marble Falls like their restaurant food microwaved and uninspiring. My pal ordered tortilla-chip-encrusted fish and I got the "Classic" burger with steak fries. Both dishes were "meh". My burger tasted just like the ones served at Sonic (!) and my steak fries were mushy and just this side of cold. My friend's fish was pretty bland. Her side of okra was obvious freezer-fare. It wasn't all bad... The Fireman's 4 draft beer was deliciously cold and fresh. The view was nice too. Our waitress was really nice as well. I just don't think we'll be going back next time we're in that corner of the Hill Country. read more

Loved, loved, loved this place!!! My family and I went at about 5:15pm. I had read reviews on here of long waits so figured we'd go a bit before dinner rush. Well we were able to get sitted right away on the outdoor patio over looking the lake. And even at that hour there were still quite a few people there. The wait staff while not overly friendly did their job well. My only complaint would be that when I ran out of water they did not ask if I'd like more, other than that our server did fine. I had the Hawaiian Rib Eye (medium) with Cesar Salad and mashed potatoes. Terrific!!!! My husband had the Pecan crusted fresh fish with the house salad and green beans. He enjoyed all of his food as well. (Note: the salads were nothing special just your run of the meal salads). My daughter got the chicken tenders with fries and they were so tasty!! For an app we got the tower of onion rings and they were amazing. We really had a great time,good food, loved the atmosphere, and would definitely go back. Decided to give it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. We started with spinach dip and pretty decent. Chip portion was small but asked waitress and she quickly refilled chips. I had the prime rib medium well and enjoyed au jus and with horseradish. My wife and I are serious tea drinkers and refills were timely. My wife had coconut shrimp and liked, though price seemed a bit high. Her only complaint was side salad seemed wilted. My daughter had monster club and enjoyed with baked potato. my son had chicken tenders and liked cause bland, not loaded with black pepper. Tenders were a bit chewy but he wolfed them anyways with steak fries. Band seemed about to start but we left before 7pm, so didn't experience. A couple other people helped refill water and take plates away, so didn't experience service slowness others mentioned. read more

If you must go, sit outside. The lake view is pretty spectacular. The food, however. .. far less so. In theory, the menu *sounds* amazing - very Texas roadhouseish, with a focus on New Mexico-style green chile. In practice though. ..meh. Our app - fried potatoes swimming in cheese sauce, bacon, the ubiquitous green chile, and sour cream - was pretty great. It was all down hill from there, though. The green chile rice, which I was most excited about, turned out to be the biggest bummer of all. .. it was *clearly* some boxed side, probably Hill Country Fare, doctored with the addition of a scoop of chile. Jeez, if you're going to serve me box dinner, the least you could do is bring Uncle Ben to the table. Inedibly yuck. The rest of the meal was slightly better, but not much. .. our plates went unfinished and unboxed. Valentine's Day or not, we didn't stick around to be disappointed by dessert. Chili's is right next door - same view, probably a better meal. **Edited for afterthought. .. There are at least 2 breweries that I know of in Marble Falls, yet the taps at River City Grill are all of the Bud Light, Dos Equis nature. The food has been sub par every time I've set foot in this place. The service has always been friendly, if not a bit disorganized, but the food has been inexcusable and incredibly slow to get to the table. The views are worth the visit if you are in the mood for a couple of cocktails, but save yourself the disappointment and enjoy dinner at another restaurant. read more
