Found this gem by accident 4/17/2026. We were on our way back to the beach and saw the sign. Decided to check it out. So very glad we did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute tiki bar, live music (very talented singer), outside Adirondack Chairs set in white soft sand with lights strung for night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tall tables are along the river.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The square tiki bar is covered for guests wanting to avoid the sun/heat. Plenty of fans[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Service was ridiculously good, drinks fairly priced for a Sunday afternoon and very nice pours. No 1" heads on beers here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We watched pelicans fish, dolphins playing, seabirds, and boaters go by. So very relaxing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. It might be our favorite place and so look forward to visiting again. I grew up on these beaches but this great restaurant and bar wasn't here then. Go with complete confidence. Oh, our burger was absolutely amazing. So dang tasty, cooked perfectly. The setting was wonderful, a nice deck, on the river. Food was ok but service was slow. We had asked for coleslaw and got mango rice, could have asked for slaw but weren't sure we could get it in a timely fashion. Mahi sandwich was overdone, crab cake sandwich was really good, as was the crab salad tower and the burger was cooked just right - fries were good. Wayne ordered a Bloody Mary and the limp, blackened celery stalk was enough to make a person swear off of celery for ever. Would like to try it again, maybe next year?

Came over from Central Florida for their "Cajun Seafood Fest." Such a beautiful day to be outside by the intracoastal. Saw a manatee cruise by. My husband's shrimp po' boy tacos were good. The lobster Alfredo flatbread was a good attempt. The flavors and flatbread were good overall, but the lobster was overcooked, dry, and had a slightly fishy, past its prime taste.

I LOVE this place! My wife and I are locals and I grew up in the area and don't realize this was back behind the boat storage place. What an awesome little gem! It felt like a little mini-vacation eating out by the river and the Teryaki Garlic wings are AMAZING!!! The service was excellent and our server was very friendly and attentive. Also, the ambiance and vibe with the live music made it feel like I was in the islands! Definitely recommend!!

We came here during the middle if the day for lunch. It wasn't too full. They said we had to wait 15 minutes for a table but it took less than that. We sat right in the deck next to the docks. Sometimes you can see dolphins and fish swimming around, but they didn't come out while we were there. This is a huge seafood restaurant, however they have options that aren't seafood! They also have gator nuggets if you like gator. I ordered the tropical salad with grilled chicken and Rasta sauce on the side, it has a big kick to it! My husband order shrimp scampi and he said it was pretty good. Our drinks were great! They were very strong and delicious! Definitely will come back and have a couple drinks!

Sat outside on the deck right by the water which was really nice. It was a Saturday evening so it was pretty busy. Most of their cocktails had pineapple and my dad is allergic so I had them make a key lime pie martini which was very good. We shared the ahi salad which I thought was ok, not amazing. The steamed shrimp I got without old bay, but they were a little overcooked. However, it was a good portion and I enjoyed them. The oysters are on special on Saturdays so I tried the bayou ones. I was surprised at how they looked when they came out as they looked very dry, which they were. Although they weren't saucy like I was expecting, they still tasted good. Overall the food was good and the view was nice. I'd return and try some other things. I didn't love that you are required to valet- didn't seem 100% necessary.

Basic food and bar by the water, 3 stars for the views and the food wasn't half bad but the best I've had either. "Dog friendly" but they have a list of things they don't want the dogs to do, including barking, which can't be helped by some. My dog is a rescue and very quiet so he never barks anyway, but I feel it would be hard for other pet owners. The dog menu had no prices, neither did the cocktail menu. I had the mahi mahi sandwich and that was filling but again not the best I've had. Plus side-the views were nice and it was a lovely day to sit out. Parking is a little weird because it's complimentary valet only although there is a big parking space but it's not paved, it's all dirt so you pay a tip to get your car dirty.

This location is so cute and it's huge. We unintentionally stumbled here during a jimmy buffet tribute weekend. It was a little bit of chaos to figure out what was open seating and what was not. We eventually landed a spot at the bar and from there we had a great time. The food was really good and the drinks were strong but also delicious. We would 100% go back.

We've visited NSB many times but never ate at River Deck. It was recommended by a local shop owner as one restaurant she and her husband really enjoy. Well it's on the water, great service, very reasonable prices and amazing food. My wife had 12 fried shrimp and I had fish and chips. The fish and shrimp were fresh, breading was crispy but light and not greasy at all. This was a great experience and without question, we will return and add it to our "favorite " list for NSB. read more

Excellent location on the Halifax River. Valet only parking, but nearby free street parking outside busy times. Full menu, with a LOT of seafood choices. We choose mahi (huge fillet) and grouper sandwiches. They were perfectly prepared and super flavorful. Good quality for the prices. We went on a Monday and good sized margaritas were $4 (seemed freshly made, but obviously with a cheap tequila). Service was efficient, but not very friendly. We will return for the food and views. read more

1. Valet parking only. 2. Great outdoor eating experience. 3. We had the fish dip & clam chowder, both yummy. 4. Saw a manatee swim VERY nearby (also saw dolphins, pelicans, & lotsa boats). 5. We got there and we were told it was a 35 minute wait and our table was ready in 25. All of the tables sit right on the water with a stunning view end the food was great! Only complaints would be mandatory valet because I never have cash and they were out of a few of our drinks. However, they just opened so I'm sure they'll work out some of the kinks. Went for lunch on 3-5-24. Awesome location right on the water. Service was very good however the food was terrible. I had a grouper sandwich and the grouper was really soft and mushy. Very unappetizing. My friend had the Calypso burger and she said the burger had a strange taste to it. We didn't finish our meals and left very disappointed. I'd go back for drinks and the gorgeous view but no food! read more

Stopped by the River Deck for lunch today and I highly recommend. The atmosphere is awesome. Sitting over the water on the Indian River Intercostal. The shrimp basket was the best shrimp we had so far in the New Smyrna Beach area. Very fresh and lightly coated. The Rasta Chicken flatbread was really good. The chicken is shredded and the Rasta sauce is a house sauce that is a spicy tomato based sauce. Very good. The Gouda cheese is the glue that holds the whole flatbread together. This places has daily specials (Monday is margarita day) and plenty of seating. After lunch, we agreed this was the best food we have had during our NSB weekend. read more

My husband and I recently ate at River Deck while visiting New Smyrna Beach. The food was outstanding! We all had grilled fresh fish and loved it! The view of the river was so pretty. We got to see dolphins!! Great experience. Highly recommend! read more

We went for Happy Hour before 6p.m. $1 off draft beer and other special discounts on Appetizers. Go to their Facebook page. We sat at the bar and had dinner. We both ordered Shrimp Scampy and it was very good with lots of sauce and 2 slices of delicious bread to soak it up. There were 10 large shrimp on each plate. We couldn't eat it all and took pasta home for lunch tomorrow. They don't have a parking lot that was accessible and required you to valet. I did see about 5 handicap parking spots next to the Front door. There was a very good singer/guitar player that started at 6pm. tonight, which is a Thursday. There is Indoor and Outdoor seating and it can be accessed by boat. read more

We really had a FANTASTIC experience at River Deck today!!! The food was amazing...apps-the chowda', shrimp, and Brie & Apple Flatbread were ALL SO GOOD!!! We've been there many times. One of our favorites in NSB. Great view, we've seen dolphins quite often. Great service and great food. Large, varied menu. Grandkids aren't fond of fish, but love the burgers and kids menu. read more

WE LOVE THIS PLACE! The location right on the water and the food is one of the best in NSB! We got the blackened grouper, blackened shrimp, and the special salad... EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! The fish tacos are really good too! There is also a tiki bar too if you just wanted a cute date night or to clear your Mind over looking the water! Great place! read more

Mixed review. If you want to come out and get some good adult beverages with live music and a good view, this might be the place for you. The food though has gone down hill fast. I used to like the food and love Rasta sauce. However the last few times I have come here it is very clear that their grouper is frozen and just awful. How can you be on the water in NSB and serve frozen grouper let alone any frozen seafood? There are much better options for food, and I just can't eat here anymore, but I would come back for the drinks. read more

The view can't be beat but the food not so much. Had lunch today ordered a salad with add on of grilled shrimp. Simple, should be a no brainer, salad had a pesto on it that tasted like dirt unless it was the lettuce. I want to like the place but this is the second time trying it- next time I'll just have a drink and enjoy the view and eat somewhere else. read more

We loved it. My meal was the shrimp and chicken jambalaya and it was really great. I have been often disappointed ordering New Orleans food outside of the area, but not this time. I only wish I could make it this well at home. My wife had the fried shrimp which were excellent as well. We sat at the tiki bar and enjoyed excellent service. The building has beautiful views of the river, so it is very relaxing as well. read more

We ate here for lunch. Food was extremely tasty, portions were decent (I got the tacos and got 3 large ones) , service was excellent and lovely location on the water. It is mostly outdoors so no air conditioning but there was a nice breeze and it is shaded. read more

I have been a loyal supporter since it opened, wanting another dining experience in NSB since Sea Harvest closed. Tonight was the worst experience ever! After being seated, a couple with a dog (miniature collie?) proceeded to bark disrupting dinner. A little girl returning from the restroom was BITTEN, by said dog, in front of me and ran off bleeding to her family! Server was pleasant but not very attentive (waited for initial drink order, waited for check.) it was early so not crowded. Very disappointed in this experience! 4 of us went there for an early dinner. I ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad with Tomatoes, Cukes, Croutons and topped with cheddar/jack cheese. I received a bowl topped with lettuce, 5 slices of Ahi Tuna which was good, tomatoes (small round and not completely ripened) and no cheese. My husband ordered the Fried Fish Sandwich which was very tasty. The others ordered a Monte Cristo and Cheeseburger (they forgot the cheese). All 3 of those dishes came with the "shoestring french fries" that were warm to cold and tasteless. They were also served in plastic "baskets with wax paper". For around $14 - $16, I guess this is the new norm for "basket food". Service was good but the ambiance on the deck was none. Two rows of 4 tops and no plants or green anything. No decor at all. If we weren't on the river you wouldn't even know you were in Florida. Not going back, there are so many other great restaurants to consider. read more

Such a nice location and atmosphere. However, the menu offers 8 oz cut of salmon but only serve you a 4oz portion. Very disappointing to say the least. We will try again because of the nice atmosphere. Live music, beach bar, very nice staff. read more

One of favs when we visit the area. Right under the bridge and has great sunsets. Staff is super friendly. Great drinks and food. Nothing fancy, just good ole fashion seafood and plenty of it. Always a pretty good crowd and a wait, but they get you in and out quickly. read more

Have enjoyed lunch here several times so we decided to give Sunday brunch a try. We both ordered the breakfast bowl. The menu said the eggs would be scrambled. I asked the server if they could be cooked over medium. She checked with the kitchen and the answer was no. Really?? Only scrambled??? Wow. Also the bowl was long on potatoes (quite possibly from a bag) and short on other advertised ingredients like bacon, etc. We will stick to lunch. read more

The view is lovely and it's family friendly. But it took almost an hour to be served two simple items (fried fish and mahi sandwich), a situation made more frustrating by the server sailing by every two minutes without a word. Other tables were also grumbling. Clearly there was a kitchen problem (servers were working hard) but a simple "I'm sorry, we are working on it" would have gone a long way. Same with the "hostess" whose only words were, "how many? 35 minutes. Phone number?" That's it. I felt like they all would have preferred to not have any customers there. read more

It was really good and only $8, so I thought man, for $8, I will have another glass. Ha! When the bill came, they charged me $28! Apparently they were not serving me the house Chianti or they rang me up wrong. I don't know but that was a big surprise. We started with the fried calamari, burrata, meatballs, Cesar salad and octopus. They did not have the octopus carpaccio on the menu but they had a grilled octopus so we said we would try it. It was a bit chewy- I've had way more tender at other places. It could also use some char marks. The meatballs were small and although the menu said served with ricotta and Parmesan- the amount of cheese on top was sad. The meatballs were good and the marinara sauce is delicious. The Cesar salad was awesome. I loved the croutons and the side of anchovies. It was perfectly dressed and not too much cheese. The burrata was delicious; a little pesto on top with a lot of arugula and a huge heirloom tomato. The calamari was pretty standard. My husband said the calamari was too chewy and he did not enjoy the octopus texture at all- leaving his chewed bite in a napkin. My folks seemed to not care. The bread they serve with the oil and balsamic is delicious. It came out hot from the oven. Wow. I had the lasagna- it's a small serving but I was already full. I took a couple bites. It was good. I like their bolognese sauce. We had the three specials- the lobster and seafood fra diavolo, the red snapper and Shrimp on linguini with the white wine tomato sauce, the tomahawk veal chop Parmesan w linguini. Everything was so good. The snapper was a large portion- looked like only 2 shrimp but there were 3-4 more underneath the fish. It was a light cream sauce. Very good. The tomahawk veal was enormous. You can't tell by the pic because the plate is a huge platter. They said it is 16oz but to me it looked like 38oz. It was really good. The lobster fra diavolo they made not spicy for my mom which is amazing because they were so busy and they really don't take custom orders. But she was very happy with the not spicy sauce. The lobster I was afraid would be overcooked because I feel like everywhere overcooks them, but this place did not! It was tender and not chewy. So all our entrees came out perfect. The owner was around- he's the one who brought me salt and he brought some of our appetizers. He was very helpful. For dessert I had to have the cannoli. They fill them fresh, I know it because the shell was so crispy. We also had 3 martini specials- the key lime pie martini, the pistachio martini and the tiramisu martini. All were good. The key lime was different than most restaurants - more tart and less thick. The tiramisu martini was everyone's favorite. Because of that, we got the tiramisu cake to go! It's circular and not from a sheet cake. It's very pretty and tasted really good. We got one bite before we bagged it up. Our server did a great job. She was pretty new. We told her what we loved, including the bread- and she went and bagged some up for us to go! Wow! Great service. My only complaint is the mix up on the wine. The house Chianti is what I ordered. I may or may not have gotten that, but I was definitely charged for something else. I expected $16 and instead it was $28. I probably should have complained but we otherwise had a good time. I will mention it the next time I go there.

Stopped by a couple times over opening weekend. The view is amazing! Had the fish dip, and tried all three flatbreads. Happy with them all! Rasta sauce is spicy, but flavorful. Heather was our server/bartender. Super friendly, attentive, and helpful when trying to pick from all of the great menu options. Walked there once, drove and used valet the other time. Valet was just by tipping and was really nice to pull right up to the entrance- worth it. Just remember some cash. Look forward to going back- often! read more
