A Boston band I know lured me to River Falls/Cityside this past weekend to see them play. I have actually known of this place for a while but hadn't yet had the chance to get out there. We had a great night, but I think a lot of that had more to do with the band than the establishment. So, one point for River Falls: booking great live entertainment. The bar here is huge, and we had no problem finding a seat early on and ordering drinks, but as the night went on, bar service got a little slow -- despite low volume for a Friday night. Drinks prices were reasonable: pint of Sam Summer on draft was $4.50, and I got sodas for my pregnant friend on the house. There was a large dance floor, and since there weren't many people out, we had more than enough room to get our groove on -- which I always appreciate. I wish I had the chance to try the food. The restaurant was spacious and clean. River Falls is located right in downtown Woonsocket with a decent parking lot and free valet parking. I was told Thursday nights are half-price and people flock for cheap food. read more

I attended a baby shower in the lower floor of River Falls yesterday afternoon. This is a beautiful and HUGE stone building, I was really impressed with the size of this place. Upon entering the building, you are on the main floor. I peeked around to see plenty of seating and a very dark, modern decor. We walked down a flight of slippery stairs (careful if you're wearing heels ladies!) to the lower section of the restaurant. It was open and sheik. Lots of windows and two doors to the outside. One of the doors was to the back of the building facing the river and I noticed a wooden swing a few steps away, although I'm not 100% sure this is River Falls Restaurant property. We were served a breakfest buffett; it was okay. It was breakfast food, so I mean it's not hard to screw up. We were offered pastries, scrambled eggs, a spinach quiche, homefries (regular potato and sweet potato,) bacon, french toast and white toast. I have no complaints on this place and in fact, I'm interested in going back to check out their regular menu. When we left the baby shower and walked back upstairs to the main floor, the placed was packed and it was only a little past noon. I noticed patrons even seated in the waiting area. On this trip to River Falls, I made the trip to see Sweet Tooth and the Sugarbabies, an awesome local band. The place is perfect for live music. Plenty of seating, big dance floor, lots of space, big bar, lots of tvs. Of course, having an amazing band helps : ) The staff is very friendly. From the bouncer to the bartender to the waitstaff. Huge points here because the crowd at Riverfalls is very interesting. Lots of questionable characters. The kind of people I would expect would cause problems (i.e. drunks, creepers, hot messes). I hear the crowd is much better on the weekend. If ST&SB are performing, it's worth the trip no matter the crowd! read more

I recently went to Riverfalls Resturant and Lounge with some friends of ours who live in Woonsocket and were very pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. I had the Thai Salmon...delicious!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal at a considerably reasonable price...about $100 for 4 people. read more

The service was very good. They serve pepsi products but not mountain dew. The free bread they give you was not good. The french onion soup was lacking flavor and the bread inside was overly soggy all throughout. The scallop and shrimp scampi was yummy but the scallops seemed a little sandy and the whole dish had a tiny bit too much sauce. Most of the dishes were overpriced in my opinion. I would like to go back but only if I had a coupon or went on a day were they have a special such as 1/2 priced dishes or something along that line. My most recent experience at River Falls was my first experience and my last. I was visiting River Falls with my significant other for a night out to dinner for some delicious Prime Rib. No sooner than we sat down at the bar, the bartender asked if we were ready to order. We informed him that we would like to start off with ordering a few drinks, then ordering our appetizers and entrees later on; we were in no rush at all. As soon as the bartender dropped our drinks, the other bartender on duty came over and asked if we were ready to order. We informed her that we already told the first bartender of how we were going to spend our night. We ordered our appetizer - lightly battered chicken fingers - and they were absolutely delicious. Following the appetizer, we ordered the Prime Rib (both rare) and both came with a salad to start as well. The bartender brought our salads out promptly... and the other bartender followed right behind with the Prime Rib! We asked the bartender if she could bring the two Prime Ribs back and let us enjoy our salads first. When we finished our salads, we asked for the Prime Ribs, which apparently they had left under the warmers because our rare Prime Ribs were now cooked past medium. Immediately sent them back and waited a half hour before we asked for a check and left because we never ended up receiving the Prime Rib. Overall, other than one or two positive experiences, this was a terrible night out for the both of us. Very disappointed. read more

Had the Fish and Chips, excellent to be honest, bit pricey, but still good. The problem is the service, the hostess(blonde) seem so angry and miserable, no greeting just a "grumpy cat" like stare, the bartender was pretentious and horrible at service(waited 37 minutes for a glass of water, not one refill offer on the drink), if not for the server delivering our food and the hostess(brunette) thanking us as we were leaving I would suggest restaffing immediate, last week made the mistake of walking in 1/2 hour before they open(I would suggest locking the door til your open) and the reception from the same hostess(blonde) and bartender(male) was something akin to me taking there birthday, so we went to chelo's and found the food and atmosphere much more pleasant, skip this place on Sunday. read more

What can you say? The restaurant is located in a refurbished mill and appears to promise a lot. Bu then again, promises are made to be broken. The place looks great, kind of an upscale, pub atmosphere. Too bad that was the high point. Our server was something on the far side of horrible. She seemed to be awfully engrossed in a conversation with a few other people (other waitstaff or familiar customers). As a result, we had to wait quite a while until she noticed that we were ready to order. To her credit, she brought our drinks fairly quickly along with warm bread and cheese-infused oil. Again, that was the high point. Our iced tea was nearly tasteless and the cheese-infused oil seems to have been mad with a low-quality olive oil that was greenish in color, but any other resemblance to olive oil was a coincidence. Once we ordered, it took an inordinately long time to get our meals, two cheeseburgers and a roasted beet and goat cheese salad. And after that long wait, the cheeseburgers were bereft on seasoning and the salad had a plethora of greens...and not much of the main ingredients. My advice, go to this place ONLY if you intend to drink your dinner. It really isn't worth anything more than that. read more

It just doesn't get any more reasonable than this! Food is great, and the portions are big, but not overwhelmingly enormous. This place is surprisingly nice and classy for downtown Woonsocket. Hidden gem for sure. The menu is large, the daily rotating specials are good, and the draft list is above average. This restaurant doesn't get a lot of love. I've been there a dozen times and don't have any complaints other than a waitress losing my wife's credit card. Their Wednesday night special where 2 can eat for for $35 with alcohol or $26 without is a tremendous value. Delicious bread and unlimited homemade soup to begin your meal, followed by my go to, the steak and chicken tips, which sometimes I pay the $2 up charge & get extra steak, paired with their vegetable risotto which is awesome or their homemade onion rings, followed by coffee and dessert. For $13pp how can you go wrong with that meal? Thursday nights they have an all you can eat Prime Rib special which I've heard is excellent. Tuesday night's the beer and burger combo for $10 is well worth the money given the burger normally costs that much to begin with, so to add a side, bread and a beer for free...sign me up. They also have .50c wings but you have to spend $5 I believe which really isn't a problem. We have enjoyed their Trivia night when in the mood to drink and we've sat outside during the summer by the river when in the mood for some ambience. Though the smell can be a bit off putting. First and not last time here tonight! Beautiful scenery with blue herons in the river as we ate on the patio. Our waitress Ninja was super nice and attentive. Enjoyed appetizers (I don't recall the real name): Classic calamari was basic but tasty, the potato skins were yummy though didn't have a lot of beef in them as we had anticipated. A variety of dinners were enjoyed by our party - Chicken Parmesan; Fish Platter (a little bit of everything - scallops, clams, fish, fries, shrimp); caprese chicken; steak tips and ribs (my husband the chef was happy with the temp of his steak tips) - he really wanted to get the clams, lobsters, muscles, crab meal - next time! And my son got ribs. Needless to say we had a lot of leftovers and know what we will be having for dinner tomorrow night! Look forward to getting back here to try more of their delicious food! I've been here multiple times and the inconsistency drives me crazy. The service is most usually extremely slow. The food (except the fried clams) is usually disappointing. THE BAD: *Lobster roll loaded with old bay seasoning (WHY??) *Cheap looking side salad with a hair *Burger was burnt and crunchy. *Thai Salmon overcooked and dried out. *Prime Rib (ordered rare, server said they only have med rare, came out med-well) *Bread and oil (PLEASE USE OLIVE OIL) Dipping bread in vegtable oil is nasty. River Falls accepted a Doordash order on Mother's Day, and then called to tell me they were actually not accepting orders, and that although my card had been charged, I woukd be on ny own for a refund. The person who called to inform me of this was VERY unconcerned and rude (Brianna). Restaurant shoukd never have accepted the order, and shoukd have offered some sort of recompense for my trouble. My boyfriend and I go to RiverFalls a lot and every time we go we always have delicious hot food and great service. But the real reason for my review is because we recently went and I left my wallet there. I didn't realize it was missing until the next morning and was freaking out because I had a lot of money in it. Come to find out Dave did try contacting me on facebook to let me know. He locked it up for me and kept it safe until I could get there to pick it up and much to my surprise ALL my money and everything was still there! It is so refreshing to know there are still good people out there! I would recommend RiverFalls to everyone who wants delicious food, great atmosphere and great service. Dined here on NYE 2017 and had a horrible time. The waitress was so slow and the food was not as advertised. Called ahead and inquired about the specials and the entertainment. We were told that there was no wait, there was prime rib and we could choose whether to dine in the area where the band was or not, our choice. There was no prime rib when we arrived a 1/2 hour later at 8:30 and all of the specials were surf and turf with prime rib. We were all going to order this. We made due and when the bill came we were told we couldn't pay with a credit card because it was raining and the wifi was down (there were 6 of us and it was $400). We wanted to see the band and hang out for a while but now we were told the band was an additional $20 pp and was upstairs. So we went to the bar to have a cocktail before leaving and lo and behold, people were eating prime rib at the bar. AND we paid for our drinks with a credit card, no problem. Bogus waitress or maybe it was the restaurant, not sure, but I will never go back. Ruined my NYE. UPDATE: Got this message today from the "waitress" and I use the term loosely, that served us on NYE. She was a big reason for the review I gave. If you get Krystal G, request someone else. Trust me. I have been here many many times and can only recall twice when the service was less than great. We have had several family dinners with up to 17 people and had a wonderful meal and great time! Came for a "girl cousins" night out with a group of about 25 cousins and had a great time, with great service and food! More recently my husband and I have come for lunch and really enjoyed the food, great complimentary soup, and good service. So glad to have another alternative for a lunch out close to home! read more

Went there recently and noticed staff standing around without masks on talking to each other. Two people in our party of 4 ordered the same thing and experienced some GI upset late that night and the next day. Food was mostly cold except for baked potato wrapped in tinfoil. Long overdue review. Back in December I had a Christmas party scheduled with another venue. Well they went bell up and never warned anyone it was coming. With less than 3 weeks to find a new spot and hope the same day was available the hunt was on. When I went into River Falls I asked to speak to their banquet manager. Stacy came to the front . We talked about my issue. She checked her bookings and was able to accommodate us. The party went great. Their staff was spot on. We will be keeping our annual party here for the foreseeable future. Once again, my husband and I decided to give River Falls yet another try. We keep hoping it would be better. But this is our fourth/fifth time and as the prices go up, food quality takes a nose dive. Bread & butter... stale and we couldn't eat the crust; it was too hard to bite on. I ordered the blackened chicken alfredo, my husband the tips and stuffed shrimp combo. The fettuccine was under cooked. Sent it back; came back the same. Did not eat it. Chicken, old. The tips were red/raw on the inside, not pink. The shrimp, rubbery/stringy and partially raw. The stuffing was a "paste". Raw also. Server was able to deduct $11 off my husband's combo meal. I do not recommend River Falls. We left hungry. We will not be returning. Shame to see another business slide in the city. Previously a great place to eat. read more

TERRiBLE service. Just ate there tonight on their outdoor patio - aside from being eaten alive by bugs everything was fine until their HORRIBLE service. One of their workers dropped a large glass directly next to me which shattered and continued to walk away as if nothing happened - no sorry and did not try to clean it up until a waiter came by to check on me over 5 min later. Luckily I noticed the glass shards in my meal and did not eat it. I did bring this up to the waiter yet nothing was done to resolve it. Aside from this the glass was not properly cleaned from around me and I stepped on a shard of glass when leaving. Came here tonight with a party of 14. AND WILL NEVER COME AGAIN! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Food came out cold. Items where missing with meals. ( they have you pick 2 sides). Kids grilled cheese was raw. Untoasted bread with a slice of cheese....basically a cheese sandwich. 2 meals had hair in the food. Waitress was rude amd unattentive. Never offered refills on drinks. We had to stop other waitresses to get our refills. She complained about splitting checks to us....WHEN she was the one that offered. My wife, 2 year old and I had dinner here on 3/9/12. We arrived around 6pm and there was surprisingly no wait. The dining room was very clean and the cushioned chairs were very comfortable. There were other families with young children as well and my boy was happy when they gave him some crayons and a kids menu he could color. There were many menu choices that sounded appealing and the prices were surprisingly low for the quality of food served. I ordered one of their unusual combination plates the teriyaki steak tips and fried scallops ($14.99). It came with a choice of side and I chose the vegetable risotto. The steak tips were amazing. I asked for them to be cooked medium to medium well and they came out cooked perfectly for me. I could have cut them with a fork they were so tender and the flavor was wonderful. The bay scallops were cooked perfectly as well. They were fried but not greasy at all and the tartar sauce was good too, I prefer dill flavor over sweet flavor when it comes to tartar sauce and it was perfect. The vegetable risotto was extremely good. It wasn't just a side it really stood out on its own flavor wise. I couldn't stop eating it was so good. When my wife finished her stuffed sole ( which she loved also) she started picking from my plate and couldn't believe how good it was. Our waiter was great and we ended up tipping 30% we were so happy with our experience there. We will definitely go back again and again. I saw some of the reviews on here were for the club part of this place and it's too bad they lower the star average for the restaurant. it really deserves a separate higher rating. My friend was coming in from Boston, I hadn't seen her in months. We decided to get lunch, she had two hours to spare. I called the restaurant Wednesday morning to book an inside seat for the following day at 1:00 and was assured it would be no problem. I told my friend to meet me there. At 12:50 I received a call from a waitress, her manager told her to call and cancel our reservations because he had a party coming in at the last minute. I could NOT believe how rude and inconsiderate. The places I go all needed reservations due to Covid 19, I was scrambling to find another place. We have been regulars here for a few years, but were very disappointed at the lax COVID precautions. Almost all waitstaff wore masks under their noses, and at least half the customers walked around without masks at all. We won't go back until the COVID risk has significantly diminished.
