Highly recommend if you're in the plant market. The service was extremely nice. They gave me recommendations, advice on watering, and a couple free containers until I got ceramic pots. The price point was very reasonable. They did not have a massive selection, but all their plants were beautiful and is large enough to satisfy any plant need. read more

Horrible service. I was unhappy with the boutonnière that they made for $19. It was supposed to be a rose with additional greenery. It was a rose with a couple of leaves. I told them I was not happy with it and they laughed and said 'that's life'. Horrible people. I will never be back. read more

The selection was immense, along with the gentlemen working in the shop made great conversation. In just 5 minutes inside the store, my mom and I were insulted multiple times by the owner. We noticed she spoke the same way to her employee, who was able to kindly answer the questions we had that she could not answer. We were told a pot was $1.50 but she charged us $4. Not a big deal, but when we inquired she rudely told us to go somewhere else instead and that we should feel lucky she wasn't charging us for preparing the plant to take home (the employee volunteered to do that on his own). Went home with a beautiful peace lily, but not after a few minutes of verbal assault and overall bad vibes. Would not recommend a visit. read more

My husband and daughter went to ROPHouse to look for a Christmas tree. The selected an 8' Noble Fir. When my husband was told it would be $500.00 he almost fell over. Then the manager asked him if we'd ever shopped there before. We had many times, but he couldn't find our customer records. Told my husband that he we "cut him a deal" for $400.00. Seriously! My daughter and husband left and went to Houston Garden Center on 610 and Hwy 59. They found a GORGEOUS 9' Noble Fir and paid $137.00 all in! I will never step in this place again. Went to day to purchase a Xmas tree and I thought I was in a used car lot. None of the trees had prices on them and when ask the price the guy said around $800. I replied "you gotta be kidding" then he said how much you willing to pay? I walked out. Last year when I purchased a Christmas tree there I purchased over 100 strands of Xmas lights and when the tree was delivered it was obvious that I didn't get the lights I purchased. After Christmas I took the lights off and it was short 20 strands. They did refund me for 20 strands of lights. Please count your lights after Christmas and keep your receipt. read more

The posted hours say they open at 8 a.m., but I went at 8:15, and there was no one there that could actually conduct a transaction for me. The woman who was there told me she could not operate the cash register and that I would have to wait 10-15 minutes for someone who could to arrive. So, I guess they open at 8 a.m. to the extent all you want to do is look at the plants but not actually buy any. The Christmas tree quality (shape and health) is unmatched in the city. You will pay more here than at hardware store/garden center, but the value in the product is self evident. The owner, David, is also a terrific person. After buying my family's tree from River Oaks Plant House I called a few weeks later to order a second tree for a friend whose husband is very ill. David happened to answer the phone and asked why I was placing a second order. I explained the situation, and he insisted that he give us the tree free (I only covered lights and delivery)! read more
