Nice quiet restaurant within the Newton Marriott hotel. Just a few short steps away from the check in desk. The lounge and restaurant are all connected in sort of an open floor concept.

    Excellent dirty martini!

I'm giving it a 4 because the service and drinks were excellent. The Quinoa Bowl, was generally good, but my selling point was the "crispy chickpeas." Unfortunately, they were steamed or something similar. Also very heavy handed with the dressing. Get it on the side.

Went for dine out Boston and it was pretty pleasant. We went around lunchtime on a weekend. Everything was really good and nothing was disappointing. I got the steak tips and they were really good. A little on the tougher side but other than that the char on it was perfect. The clam chowder and caesar salad was also delicious. Pretty basic starters so no complaints there. Extremely hefty meal and there was a good amount of food. We also ordered the lobster roll and my friend really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we did not get to try the tiramisu because they ran out but we got the brownie and ice cream which was quite nice as well. Pretty basic American food but was really worth it during dine out Boston week.

Had both dinner and breakfast here. Dinner was a Cobb Salad. My only complaint was it was in a tall deep bowl. I prefer salads in a wider shallower bowl so I can mix it up a bit. The avocado and bacon was extremely fresh. The salad had just the right amount of crumbled bleu cheese, although I forgot to ask for the dressing on the side and it was a bit much. They offered wine in both 3 and 6 oz glasses. I think that's great. Breakfast was great. They offer both home fries and hash browns. They have a Breakfast Buffet that is worth the 20.00. They offer a variety of hot foods including waffles, French toast and pancakes made to order and an omelette station. There was a variety of fresh fruit and organic yogurt. The omelettes and French toast were both quite delicious.

Marriot wings, pretty standard across the brand, always on point.

I ate breakfast every morning, it was excellent. The Eggs Benny add cheese with a side of bacon is excellent. About $20. Pricey but worth it. I also had Marriotts standard wing dish, pretty much the same at all Marriott, all consistently excellent. Staff is A++++++ and totally went over and above.

Very pretty interior. Very good food. OK service. Riverbend is the house restaurant at the Marriott in Newton, MA. We just had three meals here over the weekend- an afternoon pizza snack and two buffet breakfasts. The pizza was really good ! We ordered their Wild Mushroom Blend and Sausage Pizza. Fifteen bucks got us a very nice sized pie with a "House cheese blend, wild mushrooms, Bianco and Sons Italian sweet sausage, and house-made pizza dough. The dough and sauce were very good, but the star or the pizza pan was the plentiful hunks of sausage. Totally worth every penny and very splittable for two people. The All American breakfast buffet was reasonably priced at $20, and that twenty bucks got you a lot of mileage - Oatmeal, cold cereal, house-made granola, fresh fruit (the frsh pineapple was OUTSTANDING), milks and yogurts and juices, breads, muffins, bagels, croissants, omelets, eggs cooked-to order, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and sliced nova salmon with cream cheese and diced onions.. Anytime I see nova salmon on a buffet menu, I'm happy, and I made sure I had a bagel and lox both mornings. . Breakfast service was great, with plenty of check-backs ands water refills. The service for our afternoon pizza break wasn't that stellar -she took a real long time to refill the soft drinks ("Sorry, I got distracted") and bring over the requested grated cheese. But all in all, we had three pretty good meals at the Riverbend.

It is what it is for a hotel restaurant with expensive price points. We sat a table with the perfect view of the lake where people were kayaking. Shoot our server was sneaky and didn't informed us that the Orange Juice isn't free and $4 for it but at least endless refills. The coffee is priced per pot. Breakfast: Egg White (Diana), Broken Yolk Sandwich (Andrea), and Blueberry Pancakes w/delicious and cute tiny jar of maple syrup and whipped butter (mine)...oh hubba, hubba this was thee most delicious pancakes filled with so many blueberries If you aren't hungry, go somewhere better. If you are starving, Riverbend will be your only choice!

First, the menu is extensive, like Cheesecake Factory extensive. If you like Mediterranean inspired food with ridiculously good bakery items that caters easily to those who are gluten free, vegetarian or vegan, do not miss this place. He got the Israeli breakfast sub vegan kofta kebabs for the tuna and I got the vegetable shakshuka. The Israeli plate is a cornucopia of items, the pics don't do it justice. The plate was bigger than his head. He was in heaven, mmmmm-ing and ohhhing as he ate. I had the shakshuka. Now, I make this at home and have eaten it at numerous restaurants. I know good shakshuka. It was divine. The perfect amount of heat, eggs were properly runny, and the veggies were a perfect balance of crunch and spring. An espresso vanilla bean hurricane, was a delightful addition to the rest of our lunch. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The cafe interior was utilitarian and well maintained. The staff delivering food were attentive to other guests needs as they walked by. All in all, excellent food and experience. I look forward to returning.

Who makes a ham & cheese without mustard?? Blandest sandwich ever. I requested barbecue chips, got billed 50 cents for it, but didn't get the chips. I'll miss the "old" Pressed with their flavorful sandwiches and excellent order management.

There's almost something cozy about a place like this. Knotty P. has all the diner signs: worn counter, people yapping, the waitress taking orders non-stop, booths aren't huge, aisles are tiny (good luck getting to your seat) and the special scrape sound of the large metal spatula touching the steel flattop. If you don't mind sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with the regulars, then the counter is your spot. The only 2 seats available were at the counter and we snagged them. The breakfast potatoes are exactly what you want them to be: crispy-edges and golden- these have a little heat kick- not too much- but just enough to keep you going for another bite. As non-meat eaters, we appreciated how the cook keeps the sausages in their own territory (something is something I guess) from the omelettes, pancakes, etc. Then there's the energy- fast and a little loud in the best way. And right in the middle of it, is Ileana who has that special spark and every beat, timed.

The shopping center itself was nice and felt modern and clean. The parking lot had sufficient parking availability on a Tuesday night. I hadn't made reservations in advance but despite it being pretty busy, they were able to get us a table for 2 inside (there is some outdoor patio seating available). The service was friendly and helpful though not very proactive (but it was busy so understandable). The one major turnoff was the staff aggressively spraying cleaning solution onto nearby tables. That stuff can waft over to someone and set off an allergic reaction, it can get into food/drinks, and the chemical smell that lingered was not great for a higher-end restaurant. On the other hand, it was a clean restaurant! We got shrimp cocktail (they charge by the piece). It didn't come with the standard cocktail sauce - not sure what it was - maybe vinegar-based(?), but it was just OK - my friend didn't like the sauce at all but we thought the shrimp was good. We each ordered haddock with green beans and mashed potatoes. The haddock was nicely prepared with breadcrumbs on top and cooked such that it was still flaky, moist, and had a nice light flavor. Mashed potatoes were good (as other reviewers have noted), and the green beans were ok - maybe a bit undercooked. The team accommodated my friend's nut allergy by leaving off the almonds, which we appreciate! I didn't love the tomato confit but it wasn't bad. I'm glad that I could visit this beautiful restaurant! I hope that they can find a better way to keep the tables clean.

It's so funny, everywhere we went today there was a Tatte Bakery right next door. Guess it was a sign for us to get something from Tatte haha. I've honestly only ever visited Tatte a few times. Usually to get a drink or shakshuka. Today, we decided to get a pistachio croissant and an iced matcha latte. I love pistachio croissants with pistachio cream filling but I find that not many places around here offer that. It's usually just the croissant with crushed pistachios on top. This one, to my surprise, did have pistachio cream inside. Only had a little smear of the cream though. I found the croissant to be meh. The pistachio cream itself was tasty, however, the croissant was incredibly dry and crunchy. Must be a bit stale since we visited ~6pm/later in the day. 2.5/5 As for the matcha iced latte, it wasn't anything to write home about. It was bland. No real matcha flavor & to me, tasted like green colored milk. I'm sure they use some type of matcha powder to make the drink but this was absolutely no bueno. Unimpressed. Perhaps the worst matcha latte I've ever had. 0/5 Overall, not likely to revisit Tatte for these items. Staff was nice though!! Parking: street parking
