    Buffalo chicken salad
    Jahmelia B.

The Riverbound cafe is a cozy little cafe serving up classic American style favorites. This restaurant has different specials like discounted burger nights, happy hours specials on select days and a night where they serve breakfast dinner which is always great! I opted for a buffalo chicken salad which was loaded with blue cheese crumbles. The spice level on the buffalo chicken sauce was a little milder then I usually go for but it did taste good. I also decided to give the soup of the day a try. On this particular visit the soup of the day was chicken and mushroom. The chicken was shredded and the soup had a good unexpected tangyness to it. I ask so had an Irish coffee with my meal which was priced at 10 bucks. That seemed a little on the higher in for an Irish coffee but it was alright. Our server was very kind and attentive, she did a great job taking care of us. I'd be interested to give the breakfast a try as I hear it has a reputation for the best local breakfast in the area.

I ordered the gardener omelette with potatoes and biscuit. Server recommended the biscuit. Spouse got pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. It's hot out so the air conditioning feels great. The omelette was wonderful. I could not finish so I took some home. The biscuit was delicious. I put butter and strawberry jam on. Server was excellent offered take out box for leftovers. Left full and happy.

Came in for breakfast on a Monday morning. I ordered the chicken biscuit and it was great. The chicken was crispy and the egg folded and stacked high on nice fluffy biscuit. It came with crispy potatoes. I asked for the house made hot sauce to put on my biscuit and so glad I did. It's like a thicker tabasco sauce. Really good. My boyfriend ordered the veggie omelette and enjoyed his meal as well. Service was friendly and food came out pretty fast. Would return.

The place is pretty good. They have good tea, good service and a good breakfast. They dont have a big menu. That's why I gave it a 3 star.

We went in 30 minutes later because we didn't receive a text and we were told that she called our name 15 minutes ago and that there was something wrong with the phone lines. She did seat us immediately. We decided to order the Crab-Ocado Scrambler and their Shrimp and Grits. The Crab-Ocado had avocado that had seen better days. Everything else was ok. The shrimp and grits had too many ingredients, but that's because we didn't read what it had. We thought it was the traditional shrimp and grits, so technically we didn't like it because it had more things than we wanted. Overall, our experience here was not great, but we are always willing to try again and when we do I will update the review. We will definitely steer away from seafood for breakfast.

Our waiter was also actually quite patient (there was a bit of a wait until my friends got there; I'm sorry!). They had a dj the morning I was there, and I really liked the vibe. Their menu have more than enough options for brunch and drinks. I hope they extend their menu for more lunch items than brunch/breakfast items though! Once everyone was there, we finally ordered! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the side of Lulu's house potatoes and a pomegranate mule. The pomegranate mule was quite strong, and I enjoyed it so much I ordered another one. LOL. The bacon cheeseburger was exactly as I requested. I have no notes. Overall, wonderful experience and would definitely recommend.

The potatoes are a no everyone agreed the potatoes are too seasoned had this unnecessary spice to them and lacks flavor at the same time - we were not fan, another table recommended we not get the potatoes or ask for them to be a more crispy to disguise the spice. Even took it home and crisped it more, long story short the potatoes are not going to be that lightly salted flavor you'd expect, just over seasoned. The sausage gravy tasted great. The biscuit is absolute perfection! (10 out of 10 for Biscuit and Chicken) (3 out of 10 for potatoes) (9 out of 10 for eggs) Unfortunately as far as the Red Velvet waffles they are most likely waffles with red food coloring - tasted nothing like red velvet. (4 out of 10 for the waffles) The French Toast was okay- the strawberry puree was delicious. (3 out of 10 for French toast) The music in here is a vibe loved the selection - kept my group grooving. Not sure if they are always packed but there was a festival going on outside. They squeezed 7 of us at a 6 top booth. It was tight but worked. Also this location is not very spacious keep that in mind. Our server started off pretty good until the end. She was very loud- louder than the music. No discretion- announced the details of a remaining balance of someone in our group , loudly. Left a sour taste in our mouth as this was not the most professional route to inform a guest of something of that nature. Then proceed to give an attitude upon being compensated .. The situation was however de-escalated. Maybe work on delivery of uncomfortable information.

Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish…read more Our entire breakfast experience took about TWO HOURS between ordering, waiting for our food, sending food back, and waiting all over again. When the food finally arrived, it was bland and lacked seasoning. My friend's grits weren't even properly cooked, so she had to send her meal back. After waiting again, she ended up sharing my French toast just so she could eat. Despite everything--the excessive wait, undercooked food, and having to send a meal back--we were still charged in full and weren't offered any type of discount or adjustment to our bill. Unfortunately, it got worse after we left. Multiple people in our group, including myself, began vomiting and feeling sick after eating here. I can't say for certain what caused it, but several of us becoming sick afterward is extremely concerning. We were excited to try Benedict on Cary, but spending two hours dealing with long waits and poorly prepared food, paying full price, and then ending the day sick was beyond disappointing. We will not be returning.

It's a very popular restaurant, so today, when we entered, while we were greeted right away, there was a 30 minute wait. There's no physical menus, instead you scan a QR code which brings you to their menu. They have lots of drink options, including several specialty cocktails, beers, and ciders. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. For my drink, I ordered a local cider from a Virginia ciderie, as well as the It's A Wrap, which has cheddar, ranch, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and your choice of protein (I got tofu). I also got a side of the Mac and cheese, which I could tell was made in house. Super creamy and flavorful with a hint of spice. My wrap was also insanely good! I'm impressed by the amount of vegetarian options here. Any burger can be made both gluten free or vegan, and the choices of protein make it more accessible for everyone who comes in. I'm really happy we were recommended this place!
