Haven't been here in a couple years and I've been wanting to try this place again for a while now. We arrived early right when they Opened as we didn't know how busy would be I didn't wanna wait we got there shortly after they opened and there was already a good amount of people in there. Tom our waiter was knowledgeable about the food/menu, helpful and friendly. I got the ribeye which was outstanding, no A1 needed as it was too good to put anything on it. I opted for the steak fries as I wanted a thicker cut however they were more like a thick wedge and closer to potato wedge, they were still good however I tasted my boyfriends seasoned fries and they were way better they reminded me of the type of fries that they serve at five guys the fries were a 10 out of 10! A real homestyle fresh cut tasting fry. Actually the steak was 10/10 too. Sons kids cheeseburger looked great. Boyfriend got the Reuben and I've never had one before but I seen that corned beef coming out of his Sammie and it was tender and absolutely delicious. The whole sandwich was good despite the fact I don't care for rye bread. We added the salad bar with three soups and salad for an additional $4.50 not bad, the Philly cheesesteak chowder was good, a bit rich for a meal for me but seasoned well and very good. Next was a turkey tortilla soup, so it was like a take on the chicken tortilla soup loaded with some black beans and corn I thought it was a light good soup. Finally was the lobster bisque, boyfriend liked it, I'm not a lobster girl. Boyfriend randomly got a plate of red Potato salad and macaroni salad both which were 10/10. Red potato salad had hearty big red pieces of potato and the mac salad had a nice sweet taste, overall nice dining experience can't wait to go back and try other things! read more

Made reservations for 18-20, but we ended up with 13, and wanted one long table - was set up at three separate tables (8 at each) with people back to back. Asked if we could rearrange them and was told they had a party after ours and we couldn't. My order was given to one of our ladies at the next table and after taking a bite realized it wasn't her order. They had to remake my order and do hers too. One lady didn't get her calzone until all of us was done with our meals. I asked if she was going to get it free or at least a discount on her tab and that didn't happen. That tables waiter was kinda rude to the ladies, but ours was very nice. My piggly wiggly sandwich lacked seasoning and was blah, but with some salt and pepper I could eat it. Your potato salad and steak fries were good though. We have a monthly women's luncheon and that was our second one there. The first one was great and we were in a room with another large group of women and our server and food was great. This will not deter me from going there because we have had good food and service, but just not this time. read more

Great salad bar! Everyone is so nice! All the staff were friendly and accommodating, and checked up on us often.

" Eat the salad bar at your own risk"...that's what I was told by the manager after finding a hair ( that wasn't mine) wrapped around a piece of lettuce in my salad. I asked to have my lunch compensated after eating less than 1/3rd. Nope! " Eat the salad bar at your own risk! The hair may not be from our staff." I was given a 30% discount. Not what I would expect from a restaurant that had a good reputation according to my circle of friends. In addition the big square melamine salad plates had crud that you could feel on the bottom of the plates. Enough crud that it could be scratched off. I won't be eating here again and I'd advise you to at least avoid the salad bar. Yuck. read more

I think they have some of the worst food we had our reception there. What a mistake they couldn't keep up with the hors d'oeuvres. We tried it one more time went back there with some coworkers. I ordered a sandwich. It was almost an edible. The bread was so hard and there was very little meat on it and they $16 for the sandwich. My wife had a salad chicken breast. Her bill come out to be even though I got half price off, it was still 40 something dollars. I'll never eat there again. read more

Jerry took a last minute request (one week away)for some gluten free food for a small gathering for our church. The waitress was a brown girl (can't remember her name) who gave amazing service. We had a good time and the food was good. I loved everything on the salad bar. I didn't try the soups though. Give them a try and be patience because no one wants to work anymore and when people are rude for no reason people quit. I understand why no one wants to be a waiter. Everyone needs to be a waiter for a week and experience it. read more

Was back in town visiting my elderly relatives who come here after church, and for their High Twelve meetings which they hold in one of the restaurant's back rooms. I had relatively low expectations and tried their salad bar that offered what tasted like homemade croutons in one of the croutons bowls. What sold me was their Chicken Tortilla soup which was the best I ever had. The server, Tom, was like family to my dad and his elderly friends. My family adores him. We came back a few nights later and I had a perfectly cooked salmon on a spring mix with fresh fruit that was astounding. My Mom's fried shrimp was delicious as well. And my sister had their Mexican Pizza which was way better than Happy Joe's pizza. If all that isn't great enough, we sat outside facing the river which was relaxing. I decided to try this place out and have a calzone. The calzone was okay. Nothing to write home about. The service was not good. My server checked on me a couple bites into the calzone. After that, I did not see her until she came to collect for the meal. It took quite a while to get my check. The check was delivered by someone other than my server. It was not the correct check. It included 3 drinks that I had not ordered. I was never offered a drink refill and by the time I did see my server I just wanted to leave. The interior of the restaurant is nothing special. If the weather was nicer, it might be nice to sit outside by the river. I don't know that I will come back. read more

Giant pretzel was fantastic just need more cheese sauce for dipping. The burgers and onion rings were great. Chicken sandwich was good, pretty plain. Past salad was ok a little too herby for me. Look forward to going back! read more

I've eaten at the Riverfront Grille and always enjoyed the food and the service. But this time I wasn't to review their banquet service. I hosted a surprise birthday for my husband. About 54 people attended. We had a buffet lunch of salad, rolls and butter green beans, potatoes, baked ham and fried chicken, followed with their dessert bar. The food was wonderful. Every single dish was prepared extremely well. The service was excellent, discreet and timely. The staff cleaned up quietly and discreetly, not interrupting the flow of the party. I highly recommend the Riverfront Grille. I can't think of a thing they could have done better! read more

Yum! I tried Riverfront with a friend last week and enjoyed it so much that I came back this week with my family! Five starts for the biscuits and gravy! The biscuits are light & fluffy with just the right amount of crunch. Great prices too! I wanted eggs with my biscuits & gravy, but they don't come al a cart so I just ordered another meal. Arrival was pleasant. Seated and drinks brought. Only 3 tables occupied so a slow morning. Drank my coffee as waitress proceeded to sit with another customer and talk about glory days of the local high school. No refill, sat talking over 10 minutes. When I stood up and asked how much for the coffee she jumped up. Stated looks like it is coming out now. 10 min for an omelet with no other orders little much. I left and ate a Hardee's. read more

The corn beef hash was very good. Real corn beef, not out of a can. I could have done with fewer potatoes though. The eggs seemed rather small. I'm guessing they were mediums. Waited forty minutes for salad to arrive...which it didn't....or our special of the night which was ribs. No one else in main dining room getting served either. Delicious tenderloin and the fries were one of my favorites. They were very busy but still efficient.

They could make the place more polished and style it better, but it's good service and food. Would go back.

My family of 6 came around 2pm on 3/3/2024. 3 of us got the salad bar. Several issues right away. There wasn't any meat on the salad bar. Usually a salad bar would have some sort of diced protein, no salad crackers, and toppings were limited. We did not complain. The corn chowder soup was more of a potato and mussel soup. I did not complain. Then on my granddaughter pulled a hair out of her pasta salad. It was enough that the 3 of us stopped eating. We were 1/2 way through our first trip to the salad bar. I don't like my food touching so there was just a salad and broccoli salad on my plate. I VERY discretely asked for our waitress and told her very softly about the hair. They charged us 1/2 price for each salad bar. I told them that we completely stopped eating and were actually leaving hungry. The gentleman behind the bar was very loud and abrasive. I informed him that we would not be returning. If this is management, then they should send this bar attendant to some professional training. read more

The food was really good. The service was sketchy and very disorganized. Sunday brunch with a party of 4. We entered one of a possible 3 entry points. We guessed it was the door under the awning. All 3 will get you in. 4 different people stared at us and one finally asked how many. We waited as they determined what section was to be seated next. Silverware for 2 of us was missing from the table. My wrapped silverware was missing a spoon for my coffee. The server eventually brought me a soup spoon. The menu was filthy. If they intended free samples of food on there they succeeded. The blue burger was fabulous. The BLT was enjoyed The something skillet had great looking american fries. The Sammie breakfast sandwich looked and tasted great. Our server disappeared for long periods of time. He was busy in other dining rooms. A lot going on here with banquets and separate rooms toward the back. They would do well to add a dedicated host person and assign servers to contiguous sections and tables. We came for the Benedict... But we tried the sauce before ordering. It was thick and bland, so we got other food instead. Great pancakes and good egg dishes. Once we were seated the service was great, but we were ignored by at least 5 servers/staff before anyone offered to seat us. I observed the same with several other guests. AMAZING food, especially their prime rib!! One of the best in the Quad Cities. We eat here several times a month - salmon, burgers, coconut shrimp, steak, pulled pork, smoked pork/brisket nachos, spinach artichoke dip - all just a few of our favorites. Breakfast was just ok. Good but not great. Not real omelets. They are more like folded egg scrambles, which don't give you the fluffy eggs you expect with a real omelet. Lots of hash browns,but again not really brown mostly just lots of shredded potatoes not grilled long enough. We were the only ones there on a Sunday morning, employees were pretty noisy. Beautiful location right on the Rock River. Has the possibility of a great restaraunt if the food would improve. I wonder sometimes if owners really think their food is good when no one is coming in? I learned a long time ago as a kitchen manager myself that owners ideas of good food leaves a lot to be desired if they don't have a background in fine food. read more

Likely a "one & done" for us. We decided to try this place on a Sunday morning. Very confusing which door to use. Interestingly, the bar was clearly labeled as open at 9:30 on a Sunday morning, and it was obvious how to get into the bar, but the restaurant was a little tougher to decipher. Nice location on the river, but the dining room with all the river views must be a banquet room. We were a little disappointed at the choice to structure the dining room in a way that most customers aren't able to enjoy the river views, but overall the restaurant appeared clean, well-lit, and with decent decor. No dedicated host, but a server fairly quickly called out to us and asked how many, and we were able to be seated, passing a buffet on the way. We hadn't noticed any signs about the buffet, and it wasn't listed on the menu. Our server arrived quickly, was polite, but did not seem genuine and was quite curt. We asked about the buffet and we had to drag every answer out. We asked what kinds of items were on the buffet and it was obvious she didn't know. She turned around and looked it over, talking over her shoulder at what she saw. We had to ask about pricing as well. From there, it went downhill. We decided to order off the menu, and were glad we did. The buffet apparently was close to opening, so we had a front row seat. The workers finishing stocking the food were using their bare hands to carry all the trays. We saw them come out with a large bucket to dump more hot water under a tray, right next to other food. As the buffet opened, we saw multiple people in line eating as they went, some licking fingers, eating food off the buffet that had dropped off the utensil, etc. Thankfully the server at the end cutting prime rib WAS wearing gloves. To be fair, he also walked up and down the buffet with those gloves on and handled utensils that had been used by customers, so how clean the gloves were is still TBD. As we continued to watch what I'll call "Health Code Bingo", we saw multiple servers carrying dirty plates, then bringing out food. Only prime rib man wore any gloves. One server even carried his order book shoved down IN the back of his pants. Yum. Prime rib man used his tongs to pick up something off the floor, and we waited with baited breath. Thankfully he took it to the kitchen and to our knowledge he didn't walk back out with those tongs. Food? Wasn't too bad. The toast was so cool that the butter never even melted, but the flavors were decent and prices seemed appropriate. While I can see they're making efforts, this place needs to really work on clean food handling and customer service- two things I won't sacrifice for a "just decent" meal. read more

Had dinner here may 18. Ordered the steak medium and fries. Steak came well done however. About 6 oz. Filet. Fries tasted good. Friend ordered coconut shrimp but noblemen or cocktail sauce came with it. We will try this place again after they have been open longer and have the kinks out. read more

I don't even know how the food is because I can't order anything. If it can't run because it's busy it's simple not useful to most people as you will likely have to deal with a huge fucking headache to even try and order food from here, delivery or sit in. read more

Several times, we have visited this place for breakfast and lunch. Everything has been very very good. Especially the breakfast. And, as far as I'm concerned, they have one of the best hamburgers in the Quad Cities. And if you are lucky, you may have Sheila or Rhayn for a waitress.
