Fries were OK. Companion had a grilled chicken sandwich, which was reportedly good. If you like a burger that is the least big juicy, I suggest ordering medium rare and see what happens. The fries were great and so were the onion rings. Decor was almost museum quality- certainly from a different era: old signs, etc. Friendly and accommodating service. Surprised more people weren't there, but we arrived soon after opening. When we left, people were starting to pour in.

The bread they serve it with is so fresh! (Make sure you check your teeth after. There are a lot of spices). The pumpkin spice crème brûlée was served cold and creamy, with a perfectly crunchy, crisp top layer to make it a classic crème brûlée with a flare. My only complaint was that when I was greeted, I was not told it was happy hour and it was assumed that I didn't want an alcoholic beverage as I was not asked or told. Time to order and food to table was minimal, food is delicious and the restaurant uses local suppliers where they can, so it supports local growers. The inside has a beautiful art deco vibe going and the lighting is dimmed so it sets the mood. The music isn't loud, so you have the subtle sounds of other people talking, and the hustle and bustle of the kitchen staff working. Overall one of my most enjoyable experiences for a first time here in Wichita. This is definitely a place I will be recommending to everyone, and be coming back to from now on.

The meat was tender enough to fall right off the bone, the baked beans had just the right amount of spice, and the fries rounded out a great comfort meal. I also enjoyed trying a local cider on tap, and we couldn't resist finishing with the Key Lime Pie Crème Brûlée, which was absolutely delicious. What really stood out was how relaxed the experience felt. Even though the restaurant was busy, we never felt rushed. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it was the perfect place to unwind after a full day of adventure. If you're visiting Wichita, especially if you're staying in Historic Old Town, I highly recommend adding Public at the Brickyard to your itinerary. The Riverside Cafe was right by our hotel (W Lakeshore) and we stumbled across it out of convenience and ended up eating there numerous times. Their breakfast menu has something for everyone and it's all delicious! Their yogourt parfait and homemade muffin rocked my world. We asked our server if at least the 2 kids orders were almost done and were told she had been told not to submit orders. We were sitting at our table for an hour after our order went placed and it was not allowed to be placed to the kitchen. We ask to just pay for the drinks we had so we could take our kids somewhere we actually feed them. The manager came out and said they would put our order in now and it would take 10-15 minutes for the food to be done. 40 minutes later we still had not gotten our food. Manager fled the establishment. And since we were sitting in front of the kitchen we heard they were prioritizing online orders over those of patrons actually in the restaurant to eat. Once the food started coming out we had to ask multiple times for food that was missed to the point we took two full orders to go as we had been there for over 2 hours by the time the last of the food had been brought out. Instead of a manager coming and talking to us, apologizing or even acknowledging the very poor experience we were given a ticket at full cost of $112 and hustled out the door. Not sure what the issue was, but the failure was on the entire staff management, cooks, servers all failed miserably. From a place we visit regularly, especially with put of town guests; Im not sure we will be coming back
