The fish and chips here are great! The fries are seasoned and crispy. The cod is perfectly battered and comes with tarter sauce and coleslaw. Really good food truck with awesome river views on a sunny day :)

Lunch for 5 today. This place gets busy fast so we got there right before they opened at 11:30. Pretty small menu but what they have is excellent. The 3 pc baskets are enough for 2 people to share. We tried both the cod and halibut. The cod was a lot oilier, but it's personal taste whether it's worth paying nearly double for the halibut. Our order was ready in about 10 minutes, but we were the first ones to order. By 11:44 the place was packed and those folks waited longer, so I get how some reviewers might not be happy with their wait times. Very pleasant outdoor seating with a mini donut and Mexican food cart to provide options. The fries are incredible, so crispy. The fish is pretty wonderful too. We'll definitely stop in again!!

I think this was my third or fourth time trying to go to this spot. It's a food cart so beware that they may or may not be open - that's just how food carts are tho. Anyway, I was super glad that they were open yesterday and I finally got to try it. They warned that the wait was going to be an hour, and it was, but I didn't have anything else going on so I waited. It was really great! I liked the batter on the halibut, which was nice and crunchy but not too thick. The battered fries were excellent as well as the slaw. The portion size was about right for $15, pretty good value I'd say, but if I went again I think I'd opt for an extra piece of fish. If you have the time and inclination I'd definitely recommend it. You can sit outside by the river while you wait. Also there is inside seating and restrooms on the deck nearby- that wasn't immediately obvious to me.

The fish n chips here were pretty tasty. Fish was flaky and the batter was light n crunchy. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich special. The fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned nicely. The view by the river makes it super relaxing. Definitely a great find while exploring the cute little town of Nahalem while camping nearby.

After a half day of crabbing, I stopped here for a late lunch before my drive back to Portland. I ordered the halibut fish and chips. The wait was a bit long, but my meal was super fresh, perfectly fried, and piping hot. 10/10 the best fish and chips I've had near the Oregon coast. Looking forward to coming back the next time I'm in the area.

Obsessed with this fish and chips place. The fish is always very fresh and melts. The fries are always very crispy and fresh as well. Love the view and love to look at the water while waiting. The wait isn't too terrible, they're very fast and friendly too. The only thing I wish they had is sauces made in house or with better ingredients.

The bbq pulled pork grilled cheese had a lot of flavor, but it was overly salty and greasy. And you couldn't taste much of the pork itself. The fries had a nice spicy blend seasoning, but were also a bit too salty. The cod was ok, but the batter wasn't that crispy and slid off the fish as it was eaten. We weren't unhappy, but we think we'll look at different options next time we're in the area.

Second year coming here specifically for the fish and chips. Can't get enough of these flaky and lightly fried fish tenders. The tartar sauce is finger-licking good and the meal leaves you fully satisfied. So good!

Great fish and chips right on the nehalem river. They also have pulled pork tacos & fish Tacos as well as a pulled pork grilled cheese. It does get busy /have a wait at times but it is definitely worth it.

Had the cod basket. Fish was nicely breaded on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside. Just cod but good. Fries crispy on the outside and oh so well seasoned! Coleslaw a great flavorful mixture. Looks homemade. Delicious. read more

Best fish and chips along the Oregon coast! I know that's a bold statement but we've been coming her for nearly 20 years and had our share of fish and chips. This place is a hidden gem in my opinion! Literally hidden off the Main Street. Follow the signs, walk down the alleyway and deliciousness awaits you. My hubby and I shared a 5 piece fish and chips. It was heaven in a paper boat. The fries were perfect, the fish delicious and even the coleslaw was yummy...we didn't want it to end! The view of the river is beautiful as well. Fun place! Literally you walk down a little boardwalk and then this fun food truck and the river are there to entertain you while you wait for your food to be prepared. My wait was 30 minutes at 1:15pm on a Tuesday. This place was recommended to me or I might have gone right on by for another year! Great fish well worth the wait! Great fries as well! read more

Showed up here yesterday a few minutes before closing time and the staff was welcoming and encouraged me to put in an order. We got the fish chips (two pieces and fries) as well as two fish tacos with a side of coleslaw. This is probably one of the best fried Fish we've had on the OR coast. The fries were a bit salty but if you dig that, this is your place to go (or ask for less salt ;) Will definitely be back! TY RSFC read more

Love it. Saw the reviews and decided I had to try. Caught them at their busiest hour, lunchtime. They warned me it was taking 30-40 minutes to get the food out, but there a cute antique store in front to have a look around while waiting. Worth the wait. Fish and chips were crispy on the outside and super moist inside. Great tartar and slaw as a garnish. Great fries too! read more

Stopped here while I was in Oregon hiking the beaches with my wife. Tiny out of the way food truck behind their restaurant (currently under renovation). Nice riverfront location with picnic tables. Fish and chips were deliciously prepared. Not greasy at all. Chips lightly seasoned and crunchy. Staff very friendly. Would highly recommend. read more

You know how fast food fries taste like zombie flesh when they're anything this side of piping hot? The fries at Riverside were still delicious even an hour later. I finished up whatever fries my kids didn't eat... They're seasoned and perfectly cooked! Oh, and the fish? Yeah, that was good, too. Moist and flakey, but the breading could have used a bit more flavor. If you're not in the mood for fish, their pulled pork is also amazing! read more

We came across this place based off of the reviews on yelp. I agree with all the others. Definitely five stars. Located in just a super small very quaint town. Basically a food truck in the back of a building. Follow the path of red fish. The beautiful river going by and the outdoor seating all make for a wonderful location. The service was kind quick and helpful. The food was delicious. We will definitely eat there again when we are in town. Definitely a five star from us as well read more

They're located right off of Highway 101 in Garibaldi. Would highly recommend.

But, even being a year round visitor, there are still some things that take getting used to like the limited hours for many restaurants. Even in the high season, the San Dune Pub is only open a few days a week and only during dinner hours. So, no lunch visits or late night drinking sessions. Also, no children allowed, just fur babies on the back patio. The best time to experience the San Dune is on a late summer afternoon or early evening on the back patio. It is a nice place to hang out sheltered from the traffic on Laneda and any strong wind coming off the beach. I've only ordered burgers and it hits the spot served on a brioche bun with a generous side of fries or tots. A funny quirk about the menu is that all of the cheeseburgers are the same price (currently $18). So whether you want a plain cheeseburger or the more extravagant Chipotle Bacon Chicken Burger, it is the same price. You can upgrade the side if you prefer salad or chowder. There are three large screens inside, so it is a place where you can watch a game, but there is also a wall with video poker machines that have the sound turned on, which is quite annoying. Personally, I'd turn left as you enter and stick to the quieter side of the dining space.

She ordered the salmon and chips with clam chowder, and I got the prawns and chips with clam chowder. The clam chowder was honestly really good -- flavorful, not overly thick, and packed with a good amount of clams. Definitely tasted much better than canned chowder considering this was my first time actually having it not in a can. The prawns and chips were also solid. The prawns weren't heavily battered, and the fries were crispy on the outside while still soft inside. Portions for both the chowder and entrées felt generous for the price. Service was friendly and quick. We were seated within about 5 minutes, had a little time to look over the menu, and our server came by shortly after. He gave a great recommendation for my friend's meal as well. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Saturday evening, but we got there right before the bigger dinner rush. Indoor seating filled up quickly, while the outdoor area was quieter because of the wind. Overall, it was a pleasant stop with tasty food, quick service, and a good variety of options, including drinks.

We were welcomed by the nice gentleman who walked us through his products. We picked up a couple peanut brittles (so good and won't break your teeth!) and got the big flattened caramels ready to wrap an apple. We will definitely be back for more! PS. Store is cash only

Fish tacos were fire, the fish was super light, fluffy and crispy. The sauce they out on them was delicious. The ladies working the truck were very friendly. We took our pup and they have a bowl of water sitting out for pups too. We will be back 100%. read more
