I got a certificate for the model Honda I am ready to purchase through TrueCar, and was provided my contact person, Brian, at Riverside Honda. I called and Brian wasn't working, but was told Diane would help. She told me that they did not have my car in inventory, but would get some in soon. When she didn't call back within 2 days to let me know the status of her finding out when, I called Riverside and at first was told she would be at work after 1 PM. I called after 1, and then was told she wasn't going to be back to work for 3 days. I asked who could help, and was put on hold. The phone answerer came back on and told me that Sam W. the manager said that they wouldn't be getting another anytime soon. I asked if he would inquire with other dealers to get the car, and they said, only if I was there in person. I said I have been calling and following up for I am ready to purchase the car, and even offered a down payment to show intent to purchase if they got the car, but didn't have time to go there if they don't have the car. They said no, they wouldn't help. Really? They don't want to sell a new car? If you can't get service for a sale, I can't even imagine what the service must be like after the sale! This past weekend my wife and I begin car shopping. We currently lease a 2015 Lexus CT200. We are in the market for an affordable, fuel and cost efficient vehicle we could put miles on. Well what better choice then a Honda? We Yelped the best reviewed dealerships and began our search. We hit our first dealership early in the AM Sunday and before we knew it it was 7PM and we were at our third dealership. After many different quotes and misleading sells pitches, we called it a night. Needless to say we went home with the same vehicle we arrived in. We continued our research when we got home. We had visited all the other local Honda dealerships except for Metro Honda(we read the Yelp reviews). Despite the reviews/warnings, my wife Stacy reached out to someone with Internet sells. Within 2 minutes of sending the email, Kevin Tan gave her a call. She explained our current situation with the Lexus and the experience we had with the "other" dealers. She told him the figures we were quoted as asked if Metro can beat it. She was very thorough explaining our situation, and Kev was very confident that they could beat that price. After a day of communicating back and fourth Kevin had us convince that we found the price we were looking for. So we agreed to meet with him. When we got in he introduced us to a salesman Edwin. Edwin was prompt and said, "let me get the keys to your car and we'll get going". I have never reached out to Internet sells, I was in disbelief. Was it that simple buying a car via phone/internet?.. No I hate reading crappy reviews on Yelp when it doesn't seem fair to the business but here it is: Essentially, they were giving us a reasonable price for the vehicle we wanted. Awesome, we'll take it!.. Except once we stared doing figures, 2k was added for additional products such as "floor mats and lug nuts". Me: "can this be removed for stock items? Edwin: "No, this is a stock item". Ok... Well why wasn't that included in the original price I was quoted? This is what I absolutely cannot understand. They were not honoring the value of our trade in on KBB. Again, this is a 2015 Lexus CT200 with 12,000 miles on it . The car is in great condition, but to be "safe" and realistic I entered the condition as "Good" and selected "trade in value" not "privet sell". KBB said 20k. I even put the car in "Fair" condition just to see that number and it was still low 19k.. Salesman said our car appraised for 16k.. We knew we were going to have something rolling over. We're not going to hide that from this review. We anticipated at least 4K rolling over. We explained that to Kevin, yet we were still told it could be beat. I don't understand how we negotiated the price for the vehicle, yet they would not honor the KBB value? I even offered to go to Car Max for a free appraisal and bring the paperwork back. My wife and I are really disappointed. We were very clear and transparent about everything. This experience was exactly what we were trying to avoid and although we were convinced that this wouldn't happen, the sales team at Metro really let us down. read more

Went for a test drive and salesmen was super cool, talked to manager and it was late and told salesmen I would probably do most of the negotiations via email. Next day I emailed for a quote and a final out the door price, well Jaylan "The Internet Manager" said he could not do that over the phone or Internet I explained I was in the day before and test drive the vehicle and so on and he did not care he wanted me to come down to the dealership. I was busy with family functions and work and could not do that but I was very serious about buying a car and expressed this to him. He said he would get back to me , of course he didn't. I emailed the next day and he called me but this time he was much more agressive and said they did not do that and was borderline rude about it. I explained every other Honda dealership I contacted provided me with a email quote OTD and he tried to say they were just doing that to get me in the office and then would change the prices!!!!!! Really Jaylan!!!! Just like he wanted to do? Funny thing is this is not my first car or buying from Honda and have done the deals mostly over the internet. I guess the Internet Manager does not do that at this Riverside , made me wonder what he exactly did but that's none of my business but maybe his boss should ask him. I reached out and asked for manager to call me back, no one called me, no suprise. I then called salesmen who I had test drive vehicle with beqcause he was pleasant for our test drive and thought I can't hold the Internet Manager against this guy , is not his fault he was difficult to deal with. I explained the situation with him and he did not say much, I told him I would get a few other prices and send him a text with the prices and see if he could beat it. I sent the prices to him a few days later and I never received a response, guess he did not want my business either. I was not impressed and purchased my vehicle at another dealership where I was treated like royalty and given a great price and financing and could not have asked for a better experience. First class Honda Dealership. Riverside Honda could learn a lot from this dealership in customer service and how to make a customers car buying service much more pleasurable.Based on the amount of negative reviews and experiences is obvious management does not care. I suspect they don't want to sell cars to savvy shoppers and based on reviews don't care. Hopefully Honda Corporation will step in and get this dealership cleaned up cause this dealership hurts their brand and is not typical of other Honda dealerships I have had experience with. Thank God anyone who bought a Honda elsewhere knows this is not the normal and Honda makes great vehicles. I cannot and will not recommend this dealership for a new car or service. What are you talking about? This is one of many, and the way he said was much more kinkier that it sounds above. At that point I was laughing. Then comes below. Unnecessary body touch, multiple times. Shoulder caressing, wrist grabbing and hand caressing. It was offensive. I showed I was uncomfortable, told him I don't appreciate the weird talk and gesture but want to focus on test driving. He must have thought pretending we are on a date would sell a car. The guy kept my car title/registration! and went away and sent other people to see other cars after I did not go with his impossible suggestion of the monthly payment. How come I am getting charged for 6000 if my car is traded in for 3500 and the payment was left for 6000 something? Do you not calculate? It was my fault I walked out, before I remembered I need to see the creepy guy to get my title back. So I called, the manager was responsive, the title was kept in the front desk, I was told. I had to go there again, asked for my title at the front desk. Without a word, a guy opens the desk drawer, where my title was thrown in, and he throws it back to me. Is this how you guys handle someone's car title? The front guy walked away without a word. But this rude guy was still better than the sexual-harassing, title-keeping weirdo. Isn't that sad? This is a review for an employee of Riverside Honda. This is in regards to Debora Umbreit a service department advisor. She has been beyond excellent. She was exactly what I was expecting when we spoke about additional needs for our Pilot. I took the Pilot in for normal service, the techs did an excellent job. I am happier than a goat on a grassy hill side. Then we discussed a need that I really didn't know if Honda could help. My wife's parents (which I love as if they were my own parents) are getting on up in their twilight years and it's getting difficult to climb up into the Pilot and a little difficult to step down. My wife and I decided to focus on a set of running boards. We found a set of knockoffs for around $457, not including installation. While I was at the Honda service department the day before, I had made a query about how much would the cost of installation and the price of running boards. After speaking with Debbie, we concluded out business with the cliffhanger of what my wife and I would do about the running boards. The next day, I was at home working my can off and I stopped to text my wife to ask, "Where are you?" She said she was at the Honda service department getting the running boards installed. I should have been shocked, but I wasn't. I did act like I was surprise thought :). Debbie, the Honda service advisor was great, she kept her promise on the written cost of how much it would cost, even though I was not there and my wife never laid eyes on Debbie before. As for as that goes, neither have I. Anyway, back to my short story, The Pilot had the running board with lights installed. I called Debbie, the service advisor and thanked her for helping my wife to come to a conclusion to have these running boards installed at the said price given the day before. This review is only about the Honda Dealer within Riverside Metro Auto Group. The Group also operates Nissan, Mazda, Volkswagen and Hyundai dealers: each has a separate building but all are in the same location. Also, this is only about sales, not service/parts. Riverside Honda gave me a quote that was the third lowest on my list of over a dozen. My wife and I went on a Thursday evening and we were looking for a Fit, Sport trim. The only miscue would just be the internet department: prior to our visit, we exchanged emails and spoke on the phone with this one person to set up an appointment. But when we got there, she was off that day! Actually, it worked out because otherwise, we would not have met with Simon H. Simon put in a great deal of effort to locate those few with a specific price and color that we wanted. And then, he let us pick the one we liked most. This place truly had a huge inventory (it is also available online). The cars were in a covered garage, shielded from the elements. The test drive was fine. We had an exceptionally good experience entirely due to Simon. He was never pushy. No hard sell, no tricks. He walked us through all the interior, exterior and drive-train features in detail, patiently answered endless questions from us, and was above all straightforward and pleasant. He also shared concerns that we raised and tried to find out answers that he didn't know. Right from the start he was rude and was of zero help. granted i had no appointment but when i asked about scheduling in an appointment and requested a Saturday he basically told me to take my car to another dealership didn't even bother looking at his schedule i was pissed so i left. the other service employee mentioned other customers also complained about how rude Erwin is. We had a great experience with this dealership. We drove about an hour, past 2 other Honda dealers that we have previously purchased from because they had the car we were interested in. Came in and was looking at the vehicles around the lot. Anthony comes out within a couple of minutes to help us. We told him we were looking to purchase a vehicle but we didn't want to spend all day there. We gave him a price we wanted to work with and he runs inside to talk his sales manager. Comes back and tells us they can work with that number. Then we turn around and see another model of car that we wanted instead and give him a number for that one. He goes back in and comes out telling us that the number is workable. So we go inside and talk with James. We told him what we wanted with the vehicle and the price we wanted to pay for it. He worked with us and we were able to purchase the car at the price we wanted. We then went to sign the papers. The first person we were sent to seemed like she was in a hurry and was very rude. She was very impersonal and just acted like she hated her job. My husband walked out and talked to James and told him we weren't going to purchase the car after all because of the way we were being treated. He apologized and told us he can get someone else to help us and would even add another year of maintenance for us for free. So we talked it over and decided to give it another chance. We went over to Davidson who greeted us with a smile (we could tell he was smiling even though he had a mask on). As he was getting the paperwork together he asked about us, told some funny stories, and we just had a very nice conversation. We weren't just sitting there in complete silence. We were there for maybe a total of 3 hours. That is the least amount of time it has ever taken me to purchase a new car. We will definitely be coming back to Riverside Honda. After explaining to three salesmen my situation, I was told that no matter what, I had to pay the mileage penalty, and they didn't show much interest in showing me their inventory. So after pulling teeth to get information from a finance rep (who never came outside) and being shown some very disappointing vehicles that would have been a downgrade, I reasoned they didn't want my business. When we met with the assistant service manager, Scott Brady, we mentioned we had our car serviced at another location. We asked if he can look up the maintenance report (assuming that all Honda locations have this service like Toyota). He mentioned he didn't have time to look it up, was unwilling to listen to us and called the wrong location which then he told us to follow up ourselves. When we called the number he provided us, it was not the correct location. We might as well have done his job for him, because when we called the correct location they were able to provide us the maintenance report immediately (Alhambra Honda). Do not go to this dealership, I wasted 5 hours of my life because of them. They wanted to pay me $25,000 for my trade in when KBB trade-in value was 34-36K. I said I had a offer to buy my car from Carmax at $33,000, they then said go to Carmax and then get the money and then come back and then they will bring me back to the dealership. I then get back to the dealership and they won't honor the price on the new car because I didn't trade in with them, I told them that they were the ones who had me go to Carmax to trade in, they even drove me there. The price was going to be $1,000 more than what was originally agreed to. So then I was stuck at the dealership with no car to drive me back home to my poor husband and two toddlers, I feel like they thought they had me trapped there. So I used Uber to get back home. I should mention thought the only good thing about this dealership was a salesman named Barry, he is the only reason I didn't give them 1 star. Two weeks ago, I went in for my 100,000 mile service. Without even talking about or looking at my car, she quoted me $700. After I stated that I couldn't afford that and would be leaving, she pulled my records and got it down to $360, as she was recommending things that I didn't need. By far the worst dealer out there. Brought my 81 year old mother in law in to replace a car that was totalled in an accident. Her credit was not the best and after a few hours and 3 different people they hit her with an interest rate over 18 percent on a 23000 suv. We went to Ontario Hyundai and the gave her an 8.9 rate on a 27000 suv which was a nicer car with more features along with 10 year 100000 mile warranty in addition to gap ins and maintenance to included oil changes for 7 years. I started my research on the internet, as always, and eventually got an email from Diane, supposed internet manager. I told her what I was looking for and that I'd like some lease numbers (literally where I start with every vehicle). Well it's their policy not to quote any lease numbers without running credit. I explained that would be a deal breaker since I don't want credit run until I'm certain about the vehicle availability and the deal. She said again - it's their policy and basically hung up when I told her they have lost my business.
