When we arrived our greeting, we were told that they were out of grouper, pork chops, french fries and something else I don't recall . Which Love us with very little we were in the mood for on the menu. I ordered the house wine. She came back to tell me they were out of that too.. how are you out of house wine and french fries?! poor inventory made me wonder if they were actually going out of business or struggling. Went to dance. I had my takeout box on the table, half of my steak, my purse, and my drink when I came back. the table was cleared and everything gone!! what the heck??? clearly the waitress was not keeping an eye on our table and communicating with the buzzer. Came in on a Sunday evening around 6:30p. Not too crowded. Hostess was friendly and sat us outside next to the deck outside. There were plenty of open tables and a good mix of people out however no one came to our table, it's like everyone was being taken care around us but not us. After 10- 15 minutes we went to the hostess stand and asked if someone could come to our table and ended up getting a friendly man who took care of us right away. The salad was excellent - not too much lettuce, loaded with toppings and just beautiful to look at. The mussels were a great sized portion, pretty dried out and about a 1/3 were super crack with shells stuck in the mussel or didn't open at all. The shrimp and grits were pretty dried out and ok, weren't bad but nothing to write home about. The view was stunning and the live music was great. Not sure if we came on an off day or what but the staff looked miserable. It's like everyone had been dragged in on an off day and just hoped every table was the last. No smiles, no anything and when we waved goodbye and thanked the staff and hostess on the way out we either got blank stares or nothing. It had been around a year since I last dined here. I had a very good experience then and I was not disappointed this time around. I ordered a cup lobster bisque and the shrimp and cheesy grits entree. The soup was very good. I also enjoyed the shrimp and grits. However, I would have liked for the grits to be a bit more cheesy. I, on the other hand had a few issues. For one thing, I am not hard to please. My first gripe, was the calamari. Way over fried and very rubbery. Not appealing to me at all. Second, was the "Dockside Bowl". The menu description made it enticing, so I went for it. It describes all on a bed of JASMINE rice. One bite in, I liked the combined flavors, but I noticed that the rice was not Jasmine. Not even Basmati. Rather, it was a short stubby grain similar to Arborio. No big deal. As I mentioned, the flavors were good. So, I brought this to the server's attention. Basically saying that if you are going to sub something in the bowl, you should probably mention that to the customer. I got a blank stare and she asked if they could make the bowl again? I asked if Jasmine rice was going to be used as indicated on the menu? She did not know. I reiterated that the bowl was good, and I did not need/want another one. I haven't been here for a couple of years and decided to have a relaxing dinner by the water. It's a nice they usually has live music when I have been there with outdoor seating and indoor seating. I decided to order blackened salmon with a corn risotto and fresh steamed broccoli. I have to say I was impressed. The salmon wasn't dry even though the portion was thicker and the flavor of the fish was mild. The sides were a suprise and I will order this dish again. For the $21.00 price tag and the marina view, I think I might be visiting more often. read more

Entered the dining room to jovial chatter. We asked for a bit more quiet area so we could talk more easily. The waitress quickly found us a table in the back. We had an appetizer, I believe it was Buffalo chicken egg rolls or something like that. It was alright, nothing to write home about. My wine a Riesling was good. We were taking the long way back after leaving Orlando to look at some houses and wanted to grab some lunch beforehand. Deb did a quick search and thought this place looked good. It was right on the water so the view was good but it was a little rainy so we sat inside today. Inside was really nice too. Lots of space and plenty of TV's. We were sat right away and our server was right over with waters and drink orders We started with the Lobster Bisque. It was delicious. Just the right thickness with great Smokey flavors. Then we had the Romaine wedge. It was pretty tasty but a bit overdressed. But if you like bluecheese it will be really good! Finally we landed on Chef David's Jambalaya. This was really good. We were greeted by Gee-Gee, who was just amazing from start to finish. She was happy, friendly, attentive and just a wonderful human being. When we asked for suggestions, she gave us many ideas and continually checked in to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant. We were quickly greeted by Nancy and she has to be one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Our drinks were never empty, and she acted like we were the only ones there. Dockside was such a great spot for a Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was friendly and fun. The service was great and everyone was so nice. Our waitress Nancy was top notch and took the best care of us. She was so friendly and was on top of everything. The food was excellent. We had the gulf shrimp, wings, and buffalo egg rolls. Everything was fresh and delicious. I'm a disabled Veteran and was refused an inside table because of my service dog...My legitimate, fully trained dog that performs a specific task that is crucial to my health...Been living and dining in Manatee County for many years and this is the first time I've encountered an issue...I'm just trying to live a somewhat normal life...I understand in Florida there are many fake service dogs but that doesn't allow this restaurant to violate the ADA and Florida State law...I left, went to another place where my dog stayed under the table with her head on my lap monitoring my well being...So to sum it up...The manager insulted me, cost his waitress a generous tip, and he gets a bad review read more

Beautiful views! Came here back in 2021 for dinner and music and didn't like it so I never came back until today. I came today for brunch because friends wanted to go and it was outstanding! A terrific place within a marina and a condo development. Nice inside and out with a calendar of music every night. Best of all they take reservations. I immediately liked the beers with a refreshing Pulp Friction IPA draft. The prices are very reasonable for very good food. I had 2 appetizers. I thought the mussels would be a small serving, but is was a meal. The sauce was so good I asked for more bread to enjoy it. My other was the peal and eat shrimp, chilled. The seafood Cobb is full of seafood and a lobster tail on top. The salmon and the mahi bruschetta are hearty meals. It's an enjoyable setting by the marina on the Manatee River. The places available to stay local in the zip are few. So, that being said I came in for some fish and veg. Ordered the snapper special only to be served an undercooked piece of fish. The manager on duty came over and told me this spiel about how fish only has to reach 140 (144?) degrees and that it was cooked. However the next piece I cut into was cellophane. I simply ordered a piece of mahi and ate my sides. That was very good. The bartender, Brice was amazing. He's been my bartender before and is just the nicest person and goes above to make sure service is top notch. Bill came and the adjustment was ever made ($14) difference in the special to the mahi. It's not the price that's the issue. It's that the manager tried to sneak it in for me to pay the extra knowing the price difference. I paid and left but stopped into the office in which the manager was too busy on his cell phone to even walk around the restaurant. I told him...don't think I didn't notice the price difference. He said. Oh oh, I'll adjust it for you. But I had already paid. And here we are. So watch out because this guy will try to take advantage. Doesn't make any sense to do that to anyone, let alone locals. But alas. It's not the usual manager. And I'm taking a moment to talk about it here. The price of the salad wasn't the issue....we were more than willing to pay....however, when it arrived, there were only large 4 shrimp in the entire salad, 1/4-1/2 of a whole avocado-sliced, the tiniest half lobster tail I have ever seen...(I could barely get it out of the shell with my fork as there was little to nothing to stab into in order to remove it.).,.one chopped hard boiled egg, some red onions, carrot...nothing to warrant $22.00 for this salad in my book! I've dined here a few times. The food is great, the service is great but I give them 4 because of attitude. I have a reservation for 3 on mothers day. I have 3 family members that would like to join us. I called an hour before opening hours & this guy answers the phone, I requested 3 additional ppl. I know mother's day & every holiday is busy, he could have been polite, but in his NY accent said "not going to happen" was not a nice guy to talk too. Most places know there will be adjustments & accommodate for the patron. It's not like I was adding 10 more ppl.
