Not sure why this place has some bad reviews. The food is so good! The portions are big! A small bag of fries was filled all the way up to the top of the bag and it can feed 2-3 people. I love their chicken and rice bowl, perfect post workout meal after the gym. The chicken is so satisfying and well seasoned. Their chicken kabob salad is a must have too. So many pizza parlors have changed ownership lately and brought disappointment. We were looking for a change and Rizzo's surprised us. Husband has gotten subs there on the way to 2nd shift job but Pizza was a new item for us. Meat lovers with green peppers, mushrooms, onions is their House Special and yes it was. Sausage spicy enough but not overwhelming. (As we age, our stomachs cannot do Dave's Hot honey or Frank's hot sauce.) We would keep them in our rotation as they are open Sundays. The pizza sauce is sweet, which I can give or take. The chicken fingers were crispy and just the way we love them!! The fries were HORRiBLE!!! Either they were overcooked or the oil needed to be changed!! I can't believe they served those unsalted, hard fries!! Stop using skinny fries!! That's only for mcds! Stick with reg, thick fries! The roast beef is usually very good. Just don't go shortly after they open if you like it rare. You'll get the end of the loaf and it'll be dry and cooked medium to medium well. Later in the day, you'll be fine. The grilled chicken is pretty good as well. The fries are good and you get plenty of them. The people are friendly and the service is pretty good. read more

Definitely sub shop quality food but they very rarely disappoint. I've gotten a couple sandwiches that have been wrong but it happens so I'm ok with it. Service is good, SUPER clean on the inside. Rizzo's is your typical, no frills pizza/sub shop with an AMAZING roast beef sandwich!! I met a friend here for a quick dinner tonight. They have a large variety of items on the menu, but the roast beef sandwich was labeled "famous" so I just had to give it a try. So glad I did and I will be back again very soon for another. My four star rating is pretty much based on the roast beef sandwich since I have not tried any other menu items. This sandwich is available in a few different sizes on a soft roll. The beef is very fresh and cooked perfectly rare. Rizzo's is tucked away behind a large apartment complex at the corner of Church Street/Route 62 and Route 38 so be sure not to miss it! read more

The food is consistent and delicious- only unfortunately another consistency is the customer service at the front. Not the cooks. Always the people at the Register-the face of Rizzo's. Super rude-all but shoving your bag in your face and aggravated to even get you a pen to sign your debit slip. The topper was the rudeness to my mother in law. She is 82 called in an order for $80. The girl on the phone was so rude to her. Delivery guy was ok. Despite the service my Mil gave him a $15 tip. I stopped by here with a friend for dinner, not really knowing what to expect. It's pretty new and looks small from the outside, but it's so cute! Not in a cutesy-cute way, but it's clear some thought went into it. The place is clean, and the interior design is sharp and well thought-out, lots of small tables and chairs and two flat screen tvs. The menu offers a broad range of selections, and if you aren't up for pizza there's plenty in the way of hot and cold subs and more. I tried the veggie pizza, and it was awesome. Lots of toppings, thick, crispy crust, tasty but not overly greasy cheese, and everything was cooked perfectly. The prices were nice too - it's been a while since I've gotten pizza, and the last time I really paid attention to prices, it was about $11 for a large - here it's about $10 for a small (but it's really not that tiny) - for the two of us it was a perfectly sized dinner. No waste, and no one was left hungry! I'd like to come back and try some other things on their menu! read more

I've been here a couple times. I do like the sauce that comes on the buffalo tenders and wings. Tangy and thick. I usually prefer spicy but these are not spicy wings. Still good. Had the meat lovers pizza today. It was quite good. My coworker had the veggie wrap and really enjoyed it. We ordered delivery today and it took over an hour. Unforgivable after I was given a time frame of a half hour. No discount given, just said they were busy. Fries and onion rings ended up soggy. Update: George contacted me over the weekend and graciously offered to supply me with free fries upon my next order. Excellent new offering for Wilmington! Rizzo's calzones and pizza's are fantastic. Always loaded with fresh toppings. We had an issue on delivery, half the pizza topping was off the pizza, but it was still tasty. Also, their staff is still in training mode, which requires a little more patience calling in and picking up. Otherwise, they are great! read more

New place in town and so far what I have had or tried has been above my expectations. Usually pizza falls short but they have a good slice. The roast beef is great and the super on the onion roll is two meals in one. It is new and I can only imagine it will get better if that is possible. Very disappointed in Rizzo's and their customer service. I visited tonight to pick up dinner for my family, I presented a gift certificate to pay for my meal. Shortly after a man came running to my car stating they couldn't accept my gift card because they were new owners. I told him that gift cards can't expire, he stated again he was not going to accept my gift card and to pay him. Rizzo's just lost a long time customer over a $25 gift card. read more

Went in for the first time today, always drove by the place and wanted to try it out. I called in a pick up and asked for two pizzas well done. I got there and there was no one at the counter. I waited for 5 mins and then i had to yell "Hello, is anyone here?" Then a few seconds later someone came out from the back room and asked what i needed. I got my pizzas, got home and they were not well done. As a matter of fact, it seemed undercooked. I had to put it in the oven when i got home for 10 mins and the the pizza was good. As previous poster said, it seems like they were frozen and heated it up. That along with the service at the counter will prevent me from going again. read more
