I recall visiting this location shortly after it opened and have more recently been back to enjoy delicious food and drinks (especially the margaritas!). The wings, the pretzels with cheese, caprese kebabs, and oh that guacamole! Ambiance is chill and the seating is comfy. The staff is friendly and helpful - in particular Charisse who is very inviting and ensures everything is even better than expected at each visit. She really goes out of her way to ensure every guest feels welcome and taken care of. Parking is convenient on the street or in their garage. My friend and I came here at a Boulder International Film Festival movie and once again, it was a great experience with friendly staff and delicious food. It also is Ladies Night on Thursdays so 1/2 prove cocktails and wine! I had a delightful red blend that was smooth and velvety and was perfect alongside the baked Brie. We also shared the mussels in a broth that was a tiny bit spicy, savory and made you want to ask for more bread to soak up the vey last drop. Our server was attentive and the service was great. I went here with a friend of mine today based on his first dining experience not long ago. He was pretty impressed with the Beet Salad he had then so he wanted to dine in again. I absolutely had no objections to it. Unfortunately the restaurant didn't live up to his expectations this time. Our waiter (young man in his mid twenties; was it Jeremiah??) was professional and pleasant so the service was good. But our food took a long time before they came out of the kitchen (our waiter thought it was taking long, too so he quickly stopped by and told us that he'd check on it.) Our food finally came out 5-10 minutes after that. Well, good thing that we weren't in a hurry. I liked my Kale Salad. The added protein (chicken) looked dry but when I tasted it it was decently moist. The portion was decent, too. Now his Beet Salad wasn't as good as the first time. Also he said that the portion looked a lot smaller this time. This was a bit disappointing to him. The restaurant was pretty noisy (he said that the only thing he didn't like about this place (when he dined the first time) was the noise.) We sat at the two-person booth right next to this large group of people; on top of that, the noise was mainly because there were people who were watching the football game that was on TV at the bar area. I tried this place at the recommendation of a friend who lives close to here. I love the ambiance of the old train depot with original architecture incorporated and the rustic theme. The market lights around the outside are a nice touch. The service was fast and attentive. I did not catch our server's name but she was attentive without overbearing and let us sit and chat for a while once we finished eating without rushing us to get her table back. The food is delicious. I had the chorizo mussels appetizer as my entree and oh my goodness. Plentiful mussels in a delicious broth with lots of pieces of ground chorizo and roasted tomatoes served with garlic bread for the broth. I also tried the roasted Brussel sprouts which were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The highlight was the Brazilian Limeade cocktail which I can only describe as key lime pie in a glass. Not overly sweet with just the right amount of creaminess and a refreshing lime flavor. I only wish I would've saved room for dessert. Parking is paid but is in a nice garage and isn't very expensive. I paid $3 for 2 hours of parking. I hope to be able to visit again next time I'm up in Boulder. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places for brunch/happy hour, but our last visit was so disappointing. The food was overpriced and underwhelming, and the service was atrocious. We waited 15 mins before a waitress greeted us, and she was very unfriendly and condescending. Rhiannon, bless your heart, you gotta work on your customer service skills and not be flat out rude to a patron's face. The bottom of the flatbread was burnt and the addition of broccoli to prosciutto & fig didn't mesh well. I watched the waitstaff and some kitchen staff use bare hands to finish dishes and sprinkle toppings on food. The law prohibits bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods? We ordered the pretzel bites appetizer which were veryyyyy good. My entree was the lemon chicken: a bed of potatoes (I got fries instead) with chicken cutlets and a garlicky cream sauce. Outstanding. We have been here twice and have had horrible experiences both times. The first time there was 6 of us that went 3 got dirty martinis and they tasted like they used olive oil instead of olive juice and 2 got espresso martinis that tasted like they didnt add vodka, just kahlua and we all returned our drinks (which we have never done before and one of us is a bartender who was able to confirm they were not made correctly/off). (The drinks also took like 20 minutes to come without it being busy). They then proceeded to give the wrong flavor wings to one of us which we had to send back, gave someone regular fries instead of their parmesan fries which we sent back and then never brought out mashed potatoes. Monthly meeting at a new place. Great community table for our group. The decor was understated but elegant. There are two levels to this restaurant and the main level has a bar and some workstations at the sides. There is a lower level which I imagine we could reserve for parties or they can seat overflow guests. Televisions and another bar downstairs. From our table we could watch tv as well right across from our table. More TVs at the main level bar. I went with the tuna poke bowl which has edamame, avocado, mango salsa, tri-color quinoa, giant wonton chips, pickled onion, jalapeño, cilantro, radish, sambal ponzu and seared chilled ahi tuna. Not sure what to expect but it was gorgeous when it came. The presentation is good and the taste even better. The ahi tuna was smooth and not chewy. Large slices. Not a fan of the onion or radish but the mango salsa was yum! The quinoa was interesting and not soggy so I gobbled it all down. My girl friend mixed the ingredients of the bowl together and likes eating it this way. She sometimes shares this dish with her little daughter. I think our server was Sammi. She was friendly and patient and professional. We appreciated her service. Restrooms are clean and I liked the decor. They made wall murals with bathroom tiles from historical photos. And I love the red door. The parking is tricky here. Paid parking only it seems. The parking garage did not recognize my license plate the first two times but then I drove out and in again and it did so I could pay my parking fee. If I'm in Boulder again I'd like to eat here. The pictures look much better than the taste. We had the brussel sprouts which weren't too bad, the mashed potatoes were super dry and no flavor, the enchiladas are bland (spicy for those that like some kick) and the mushroom burger was super greasy (I could only eat half). Their plain fries were the best out of all the food we got. We ordered online and waited for the email to say it was ready, never received the email because they "never got the order". The food tastes very good, but the service leaves you wanting a lot more. I have come in multiple times since it opened, but it seems like the service is getting worse with each visit. The drinks were very watery, but our food was very good. They have great burgers and salads. The sun was shining on our table and was making everyone extremely hot. When we asked if they could close the blinds, they said they would ask to shut them then never did. Our server was constantly gone, so it was hard to ask for any refills or more water (we never did get our refill). Anything we did ask for seemed like a hassle as was very uncomfortable. There is very little parking except for the garage near the restaurant which I definitely would not recommend. We got trapped in there for nearly 40 minutes and no matter how much we called the garage company, could not get the gate open. Enter the garage at your own risk! The Thai cauliflower wings alone is reason to go! We arrived late in Boulder after a day of delayed flights, a lot of places were closed, but we saw this restaurant was still open. Quickly ran in and got a table out on the lovely brick patio next to some blooming flower boxes. The night was beautiful and while it had been pretty hot in Boulder that day, once the sun had been down a couple hours, it was gorgeous out! Service was friendly and attentive, food was delicious! I don't know how a short-staffed restaurant continues to operate when it sacrifices greeting customers, delivering drinks in a timely manner and getting orders accurate. The menu items look good but don't taste good and are overpriced for what you get. Drip coffee was $6 and no refill was offered. The whole experience was so disappointing. The wait time to get our coffee was in excess of 20 minutes, (we had to get up and remind them that we had ordered coffee), The food was served 45 minutes after we ordered. We ordered breakfast items, all three items were cold, the order was incorrect, for two of the three orders. The food was awful, I could not eat the breakfast burrito, it was cold, the braised rib tasted like it was past it's due date. It's extremely rare that I feel the need to run home and immediately leave a review for a restaurant. But here I am. The Roadhouse Boulder Depot has hands-down the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Let me preface this by saying that I am not an old boomer. I am in my 30s and have worked in the service industry for years. I'm fully aware that mistakes can happen and I'm very empathetic to that. But this was something else entirely. My husband and I arrived at 5pm for an early dinner. There were a few tables, but the restaurant was not busy. Our server came over and took our drink orders and our drinks came out fairly quickly, but that's where the compliments end. We put in an appetizer order and ordered our entrees at the same time. That's when our waitress completely disappeared. We sat for 45 minutes with no drink refills, no appetizer, and no one checking on us. Meanwhile our waitress was wandering aimlessly around the restaurant. After an eternity, a completely different server brought out our appetizer and entrees at the same time. Our appetizer, the baked brie, came out cold and without the puff pastry that was advertised. My entree, the prime dip was freezing cold and the au jus was too. It also did not have the horseradish sauce as mentioned on the menu. Just sad meat on dry bread and cold dip. My fries were frozen as well. Somehow my husband's food, a burger, was hot while everything else was freezing. I didn't dare asking for the missing sauce or puff pastry for fear of another 45 min wait. We immediately asked for boxes and a check and I took my food home to cook it myself. After I made au jus at home, heated up the meat, made a horseradish aioli, and put my fries in the oven, everything was perfectly edible. If I wanted to cook at home I would have saved myself the $70 and gone to the grocery store. read more

My daughter's wedding reception was held at the Boulder Roadhouse Depot and I couldn't be happier. The building has a downstairs area where the young people congregated and danced and an upper area where everyone dined, socialized, and cut the cake. Those who needed a break from the activity relaxed on the outdoor patio and enjoyed the mountain view. The staff was friendly and professional and went out of their way to keep things running smoothly during the event. The food was delicious, well presented and there was plenty of it. They even had a special side dish for our Vegan guests. I've heard many positive comments about the food, the day of the event and afterwards. I'm very glad that we held our event at the Boulder Roadhouse Depot. I've had many people tell me that this was the best wedding reception they ever attended. read more

This is a cool spot located in the historic Boulder Train Depot, with photographs illustrating the history of the place and railroad tracks used as part of the decoration inside.  The nice U shaped bar as large TVs making it perfect for watching games, and there is a pleasant patio to enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather. Both the food and drinks menus offer plenty to choose from; burgers, tacos, flatbreads, seafood and a nice selection of beers on tap, cocktails and wine. I went with a small group of friends recently and we all were pleased with our meals. A few of us had the Jam Burger made with Colorado hormone-free beef on brioche bun and I am glad I picked the kale salad as a side, yummy!  For drinks, I got one of their signature cocktails, the Bee's Knees with gin, lemon and honey syrup, not too sweet, perfect. Tucked away in northeast Boulder, I like the Roadhouse Depot, a solid combination of food quality, location, and ambiance. The building has significant historical stature, as it is the actual depot structure that served as the main hub along trainlines for a number of years before being rehabbed into today's venue. The restaurant offers both inside and outside options, and the interior is great place to catch a game on one of their giant-screen televisions. They host private functions downstairs, and it's a good spot. I like their exterior seating, as it is both comfortable and spacious. Their service is quite good, friendly and professional. I had a tasty burger when I visited, and it was perfectly cooked with tasty sweet potato fries. They served me a good-sized portion, and it was fairly priced. read more
