This is a tough one... The food was really good. We had brisket, rotisserie chicken, and a pasta dish that I can't remember the name of. The main entrées were good but sadly, I had the brisket and about half of my portion of meat was fat. I understand that brisket can be fatty but this was a little ridiculous. At the same time, the flavor of the meat I did get was really good! The side of green beans was pretty standard. My friends had the rotisserie chicken and they raved about it! The service was not great but our waiter had only been on the job for two weeks. That makes it really hard to rate. He had great enthusiasm for his job and he was very apologetic when he messed up. My one friend ordered coleslaw and received green beans. I requested no ancho honey butter on my corn bread but it came with it anyway. The oddest situation was when my friends wanted just the chicken with a side salad but the waiter returned to clarify that they can't do that & my friends had to order a side & could then get the salad at an extra cost. Why not just allow them to have the salad at extra cost & leave it at that? Why force the side on them? (Especially when the side she received wasn't the one she was forced to order?!) I'm still giving them 4 stars because I'm going to assume a lot of this was due to the inexperience of our waiter. read more

It's good for where it is, given that it is a local place adrift in a sea of brands (Red Lobster! Applebee's!). Beer was fresh and good, the menu was a bit playful (great deviled eggs--who sees that on a menu?) and the side salad, while characteristically straightforward, was very generous. As for entrees, my husband loved the beef brisket, though I found the salmon beyond firm and over cooked (and the promised spinach non-existent). But: aI feel it's among your best non-big brand local bets in Sioux Falls. For our-of-state folk who care: better-than-nothing Covid protocols. The food was good but the service was awful. I mentioned the fact that we had just had a wedding ( small and at home) . We waited for drinks- the bartender brought them and said she didn't know there were some ordered. This was lunchtime with few people in the restaurant. Couldn't find our waitress so asked others for things like more drinks/water. She never rounded to check in- the kids decided they wanted dessert on their own. The manager came around and asked if anything was ok- I don't think he could have talked faster or walked away faster. Really disappointing service. read more

Will not be back. The server said the nightly featured steak came from grass fed happy cows. Our family and most of the rest of the dinner party were not impressed with "grass fed happy cows." I asked the server if it came from a happy stock cow or a milk cow. She had no idea and I assume this pitch for "happy cow meat" came from management. A couple of us tried the smoked brisket. It was cold, tough and lack much flavor except for the barbeque sauce. I think this outfit needs to understand that most producers raise corn fed beef in the Midwest. I have not encountered a fine restaurant on the East coast that does not feature corn fed Midwest beef and it's printed on the menu. Also most of the dinner party were cattle producers. Made reservations with a group of girlfriends on a Friday night. Seated promptly and had a lovely view of the place- its beautifil and cozy inside! The menu is just long enough to display their offerings- our table had brisket, rotisserie chicken, and the smoked prime rib sandwich. They were all absolutely delicious. I got roasted vegetables as a side and they were so tasty- Smokey and crunchy. Happy hour prices were excellent and our service was top notch. We left happy, full, and excited to come back! We had curbside takeout while staying next door at the Residence Inn. Food was quite good, although I find that takeout is rarely as good as the in-restaurant, hot & fresh dining experience. Covid, though. If you're thinking takeout, make sure you are looking at their more limited takeout menu. Also, warning: the fries are seasoned. We ran into that a few times on our roadtrip, maybe it is an upper midwest thing? Brisket and green beans were quite good, also the cobb salad. Teenage son thought the brisket mac & cheese was just okay. He's kind of picky about the mac & cheese. I'm guessing this would have been a five star experience if we could have dined in. read more

First time going there today and was extremely disappointed. First off on the positive the place was cool looking inside and out. Hated the seating we were placed right in middle with no privacy. Our waitress was Lysa and she was AWFUL!!!! The food was awful as well... food came out luke warm. Mountain Dew tasted as if it was half lemonade and our waitress was so bothered when I asked her for another one. At first I was surprised they weren't busy as every other nice restaurant in town had a 30+ minute wait unlike Roam where we got in right away. Then after we met our waitress and seen the other waiters who's hair was hanging in his face GROSS!!! I totally understood why nobody was there!!! Their food wasn't good their staff not only looked dirty with hair hanging in their face which is so gross!! Our waitress was extremely rude... until the end when it was tip time then she was very nice... didn't work it was awful won't ever ever go back again!!! read more

Our server was fantastic. Took care of us very well. The food was pretty great as well. Deviled eggs as an appetizer that were pretty good and unique. We had the SW salad, pastrami burger, and the bone in short rib. The short rib was perfectly cooked. The salad had chicken that was juicy and tender. New fun dining in Sioux Falls. Unique drinks and menu items. They've been open for less than a month, but the Friday lunchtime service was superb. I had the Fool's Gold cocktail and was not disappointed. The smoked rosemary in this drink is genius. Corn chowder is so yum. My husband had a burger that he said was "very good." I got to sample his fries. I don't know what seasoning is on them, but it's delicious. Come here! read more

Way overpriced, My wife ordered the scallops and while they were good they were about the size of a silver dollar. She was served six of them at just over $23.00. And the so called yam hash was a pile of greens with little pieces of yam. It was our 1st time there so I ordered the pork belly board for $10.50. It was cold and had a lot of fat, Was under a little pile of greens with 5 or 6 dollops of spicy mustard on the side. Totally not worth it we will not be back. read more

Came here with my wife for her birthday dinner. We were heading to Texas Roadhouse when we saw this place and saw that the reviews were good. It did not disappoint, the rib-eye steak was excellent and the sides they paired with it were very good. Food and service have been consistently disappointing after multiple visits. Food quality just doesn't match up with the high prices. Food was served lukewarm and employees seemed oblivious to customers. I understand they're new, but the experience was strikingly different than at a similarly priced restaurant that opened not too long ago in the area. The inside decor and atmosphere are nice and they do have pretty good happy hour deals, so I would return for drinks in the bar area or the patio which recently opened. Went with a group of four and all of us left very happy with our first experience here. Bacon wrapped poppers kicked us off, along with Sangrias and Moscow mules. We each ordered something different as an entree: Roast Chicken with mixed vegetables; Pork Shoulder with mac n cheese; Beef Brisket with fries, and the Top Sirloin with horseradish whipped potatoes. Each entree was a hit. My pork shoulder was unbelievably tender and the and accompanying golden BBQ sauce was delicious. My husband loved his roast chicken and the veggies were perfectly done- nice and crisp, not mushy or soggy. Service was top-notch as well. And while the food was stellar, the best part was that the ambience was perfect for catching up and socializing- I hate restaurants where I have to yell across a table to be heard. That said, it may be because it was a Sunday night and the restaurant was lightly populated- a visit on a Friday night might prove different. We will definitely be back to find out! ;) read more

Went there last night for dinner. There is some confusion with their happy hour menu as far as drinks are concerned. They need to either take the page out of the book regarding the $3 drinks or honor them as long as the page is there instead of saying, "yeah, that's not correct." We had a fussy infant and cranky 4 year old in tow, who were both over-tired from our travels. I was warmly greeted by staff who assured me our kids were absolutely welcomed there. Our waitress was amazing, attentive, patient and just all-around great! Every other server who walked by our table was smiling at us and made a point to interact with our children somehow. The foos was phenomenal- I had Cajun pasta with chicken and my husband had seafood gumbo. Our drinks were great and the service was so speedy, we were able to pay and leave before any major meltdowns from our kids. Wow. This may have been the best dining experience I've had in Sioux Falls, albeit ever. Our server Tanner was phenomenal at his job, and the manager presence was great. I had the Cajun rotini with shrimp and it was cooked to perfection. Shrimp was juicy and tender, not the slightest bit chewy. Had the beef brisket. That was the worst food I've had in some time. I felt like I was eating meat from a dumpster. Will not ever go back.

Nice atmosphere and good service. My wife and I shared the half chicken with cornbread, smashed potatoes. Chicken had a great rub and was moist with excellent smoke flavor. Potatoes were buttery and peppery--very delightful. Since we shared, we got an extra side. The Mac 'n' cheese was the only disappointment. If you're expecting ooey gooey mac, skip this. It lacked any resemblance of cheese flavor. Instead, it was a soup of unthickened milk and melted butter. You know what happens when you add twice the milk needed for Kraft mac at home? That's what this mac was, but with worse flavor. For dessert we had the brownie with ice cream and bourbon caramel. Brownie was gooey, sauce had just the right amount of bourbon flavor that complimented the caramel, and the vanilla bean ice cream brought it all together.
