This was a delicious meal. We split the walleye tenders to start. They were perfectly fried, not greasy and the tartar sauce was tangy and delicious. My daughter and I split the smoked dry rubbed rotisserie chicken which was amazing. There was nothing left on the bones. It came with cornbread, which was delicious and moist. My husband had the trio of sausages which were so good. My son got a bacon hamburger. I had the bourbon Brussels sprouts too which were sweet and full of flavor. Our server was so good too! It was okay. Went on a Thursday night at about 7:00 at night and seated immediately. Our server wasn't very attentive and maybe saw us a total of 3 times, to take our order, to drop it off and give us the bill. We were seated at 7 and left about 9 due to the slow service. The food was okay but fell short of expectations. I had the brisket Mac. For a cowboy themed restaurant I was expecting a Mac and cheese in a cast iron pan with a hard fire broiled crust but no, it was a slightly overcooked spiral pasta and cheese dish with some sparse brisket pieces dusted with some bread crumbs on a white plate. I keep going back to this place when I'm in town because the ambiance, aroma, drinks and menu are all great but the food never matches the feel. This week I was there for my birthday and decided I wanted a good steak. I ordered the sirloin so I didn't break the bank. I ordered it medium, it came well done, no pink. Because we had more than 6 people we had to call for the reservation and Taylor with catering was amazing ! She took care of us and our experience was wonderful ! Clayton was our server and the best ! Kept up with everyone and we didn't wait for anything ! And of course .. the food... was amazing ! Traveling cross country. Stopped after day of driving. Very good. I had the pork shoulder and green beans. I am a BBQ snob and it was OK. The sauce they have is top notch. Environment was excellent. If you come here around 9:30/10:00pm on a Friday night, prepared to be ignored. The team is so busy cleaning, doing side work and trying to get out of here that that don't care that people are here paying and trying to have dinner. Even though it says they close at midnight, I came to the bar for dinner and a glass of wine. It's been an awful experience- the bartender has been frantically cleaning and hasn't spoken more than 6 words to me. I've had to ask to order and for a drink several times. Forget the bartender small talk. I feel as if I'm a bother to them while being here. The food isn't bad. It's not great either. I have a feeling it sat under a heat lamp as I watch everyone stand around waiting for a sign off to leave. After I finally got my food,no one even asked if it was ok or if I needed anything- it's been over 30 min... it's actually sad how little the staff here cares. I was a bartender for several years, I know the drill- but I also know what hospitality means.. and it doesn't mean ignoring people that come to eat / drink at your establishment. read more

We were just passing through town and found this place on yelp with such high reviews so we thought we would check it out. Really good, didn't disappoint. Although we are soo full now!! We will definitely come back when we don't have to drive, the whiskey and bourbon selection was pretty good. Bummed we couldn't partake. Great experience tonight at ROAM. Our server Tyna was amazing and navigated us through the menu from drinks to dessert. She was very knowledgeable and super friendly. Our food was fantastic- brisket tacos, bone in short rib and flank steak were delicious and prepared and presented beautifully. The smoked orange old fashioned and blackberry Kentucky mule were very generous and flavorful. Topped it all off with the Berry Crisp and Triple Chocolate Brownie - my waistline is the only part of me that is happy I don't live closer to this gem in Sioux Falls. read more

Hey Sioux Falls, support this new place!! There are literally 10-12 menu items that sound spectacular. I had a hard time deciding what to get on my first visit. The atmosphere is rustic and comfortable. We will be back. We live on the east side. I feel if Roam were on the east side, it would be our new go-to restaurant. The brisket was excellent--smoky and melt-in-your-mouth moist. It's simply the best I have had in Sioux Falls (admittedly, I had not tried all brisket options in Sioux Falls). The corn bread was different, I don't mean bad, just different. The baked beans were not for me, but others might like them. While I did not love everything I ordered, there were plenty of other options that sounded awesome so I have no doubt that I could find other sides I would like better. The chicken was smoked to perfection--plenty juicy. My wife did not care for the seasoning on the fries, but I really liked it. My daughter's burger was awesome. She also liked the fries but they were plain as opposed to the adult fries which had a lot of seasoning. My son's mac and cheese was, according to him, the best he ever had. read more

Food was great, server, Rico, was great, all 4 meals were delicious. But the manager(s) have never received any training on how to handle a computer outage. They were unable, in the 2 hours we were there, to print a ticket/bill, or process a payment. Due to the managers we received a handwritten list and total 25 minutes after we finished the meal, and had to sign a laser printed sheet after they manhandled my credit card. Most managers would approach the customer, apologize for the delays, and perhaps offer to comp some aspect of the meal, for our patience and great extra time, and for trusting that their handwritten sheet and cell phone calculator totals were correct! Been here a couple times now and it doesn't improve. Food is mediocre at best. Sure, a lot of people might think it's good, but they probably aren't very adventurous or they lack a decent palate. Like a person who puts sauce on their steak; being unaware that if the steak were really good, it wouldn't need any sauce. If you put ketchup on your steak (you need to get out more) you'd probably think this place is delicious. If you prefer flavor, I'd suggest eating elsewhere. read more

Celebration Dinner... 86 year old great grandmother chose RIAM for her birthday. She loved the walleye and her special treat from Roam, crime brûlée. This was her first taste of this custard dessert. We are from out of town and we found this place from an internet search of restaurants near our hotel. So very pleased we made this choice!! Very friendly staff and we were greeted promptly. The outdoor seating area is very nice and relaxing. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks first and they were amazing. The food was so good!!
