We came here on a Saturday at 6:30pm and was able to get a bowling lane. They do not take reservations for bowling ever (unless you have a big group) and only take reservations for dining on for Tuesday nights. It is duck pin bowling (so smaller than regular bowling) and it was a blast! You enter down stairs and yes, you pick up a phone and give a password to get in, but they tell you the password upstairs. I wonder if it is someone's job to answer that call all night? Ha! We bowled for a hour and had drinks and appetizers. The charcuterie board was great! The service in this area was good and we had an issue with our lane so they gave us 10 extra minutes. We then shifted to the main room where couches are all reserved and tables are first come first served. The tables are all 4-tops, but we saw people adding chairs for more people. We found a high top next to the stage with a great view of the dance floor as well. We pulled up extra stools for our party of 6. The service here was terrible as it took 30 minutes to get our drinks. They were not that crowded at this time of night so I wonder what it's like later on. They comped our drinks, but it was too late, we couldn't chance spending the rest of the night here. We exited and it was a discreet exit that puts you out in the alley leading to the courtyard of the hotel. read more

It was our first time here. We called ahead of time but were told no reservations over phone and to come early as lives can be long. We got there Saturday night, no long lines- thank God. There is a $10 cover, we were told no tables available but we could hang around the bar area. Once we paid, we went down the stairs, called using the ancient phone to provide the pass code and were let it through the mirror door. Walked in and this place was packed.... Crowd was older but as soon as the live band started playing the music dragged our feet to the dance floor. They have a bowling alley as well. Overall was a great night. Only drawback was they don't take reservations, there was a miscommunication as we were told we could make reservations if we were a party of more then 6. When I want to go out for an evening, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Food, drinks, music, atmosphere and an attentive and professional staff set the tone for a great evening. We decided on valet, as the streets were already pretty packed when we arrived close to 7. We went inside and were greeted by a very pleasant lady who gave us pearls along with instructions to access the hidden entrance. Once at the entrance, we made our way to the bar, as all of the tables were taken. We arrived just in time and took the very last 2 seats at the bar. Our bartenders were professional and prompt. We each had a few drinks, appetizers and shared a dessert. The pork belly was much better after a sprinkle of salt. Overall, yummy food and drinks and good enough portions to tide you over. The band started to play and the dance for was packed! It was so nice to hear a live band at a bar! Mainly 80s music was played while we were there, but we only danced for about 30 minutes before we headed out for the evening. By that time, there was quite a crowd and it was tough to get through. We came here on a Friday evening around 6 for some drinks with friends. It wasn't too crowded yet and we were able to get a table with cute chairs and a couch. Our waitress was very helpful when picking out drinks and wine, and was very attentive throughout the night. Theme/decor: Going into the speakeasy themed bar, you get a ticket, go downstairs into the "alterations" room and use the phone to give the password to be let in behind a locked door. The decor and furniture took you back to the 20s and made for a great night with friends. Drinks and food: I got the bubbly bath cocktail which came in a mini bathtub with a mini rubber duck. It was tasty and cute! My friend got the Frizzy Ritz and it also had a great presentation but was a tad strong. Before we got there our friends got the Brussels sprouts and they said they were delicious. We also tried the fries which were seasoned and cheesy - 10/10. When we first got there there was a single musician which was very good. Around 8 a band started with 70-90s music. The dance floor was a lot of fun and we had a great time. We didn't try the bowling, but would like to in the future! Get there early if you want a table, once the band started it got very crowded and we were happy to have had our spot. My friends and I had a great time here! This is the new hotspot nightclub of downtown Alpharetta. Roaring Social is located in the Hamilton hotel and the exterior entrance has an appearance of a clothiers because it is a speakeasy. Usually there's a line out the door but my friends and I got here early around 7:30pm so we were able to walk straight in. We checked in with the attendant, who wrote a code on a piece of paper and gave us instructions on how to proceed. Then we walked down the stairs to the underground speakeasy entrance and it was nicely disguised as a clothing shop with props like pearl necklaces and flapper dresses on display. From there, we made a call on the old-fashioned telephone then the mirror/door opened. Very cool! We were finally inside the speakeasy which was dimly lit, quaint and had a modern touch. There are bowling alleys towards the back and a stage with live band performance in the center. We didn't have reservations but there were a few empty tables so we asked the hostess and luckily they were able to accommodate us at a table. They were short-staffed so service was very slow. It took awhile for us to get water and menus. We ordered a couple bottles of wine and I had the bubbly bath cocktail because I like rose and it sounded good. I didn't know what to expect but it came in a little, ceramic bathtub with a rubber ducky and straw to sip it! I would recommend it for sure. We also had the Zelda's provisions board which was a large charcuterie board with sliced baguettes and assorted meats, cheeses, and garnish. It was tasty and well-presented. We contemplated ordering dinner here but the menu selection was very limited with entree options and it didn't seem like a great food spot. I had the Georgia peaches and cream as an early dessert and it did not taste good. It was just whipped cream, ice cream and brownish peaches, lacked freshness. It's an ideal place, however, for drinks and dancing. We all danced the night away and the band was awesome. Great music and great vibes all around. Everyone was having a blast. We were here for several hours and it was well worth it. Will definitely be back. The restaurant, bar area and bathrooms were all very clean and well-maintained. The crowd ranges from young professionals to seniors, it's a fun place for everyone. Please keep in mind, there is a dress code and it's better to overdress than underdress. There were many women on theme with sequin dresses and flapper dresses, which was fun to see. read more

I came here on pretty much Halloween weekend. (I know I'm behind on writing reviews!) And so, everyone was dressed up and also it was pretty busy! Anyways, Roaring Social is pretty interesting. They try to give the vibe that the 20s is still alive. When you go in you're directed to go downstairs and when you get down there you ring a wall phone and then they'll open the door. It's something different, but I would say it adds to the experience. There's live music and lots of things to do, such as mini bowling which came to a surprise to me when I went towards the back to find a table to sit down. One thing to note, this place is definitely catered to an older crowd, if you're in that crowd then definitely this is the place to be. If not, then you probably should look elsewhere. I ordered a couple of drinks, both were pretty good and we pretty much stayed and enjoyed the music and then left. Overall, I would say Roaring Social is a cool spot to hang out and listen to music and dance. There are other activities that can be enjoyed but it was pretty cool to see this in Alpharetta. read more

Servers are horribly rude and push through the crowd while cussing at the patrons to get the F out of the way. All of the seating areas are private so that leaves you standing in the way no matter where you go. We were told to move several times. I had a drink spilled on my shoe by a server rushing by, and my husband got an entire tray of drinks spilled on him by another server. No apology to either of us. The atmosphere and theme is cute and the manager seemed to be involved but being cussed at and spilled on is not expectable. read more

I've been here a couple times now and have had a great time. My husband and I enjoyed the live music & the bartenders are friendly. Craft cocktails are delicious. I would suggest getting here on the earlier side as there can be a line to get in once the night gets going. When we asked the wait staff how they were doing, they said we've gotten used to it because it's been like this for weeks. We spoke to the GM who was condescending and rude. When the checks came, the tab included a 23% event surcharge that wasn't discussed and the average tab for two people was more than $400. I had super high hopes for this place. Please ask Rachel at the bar near the bowling alley to make you "The Rachel" - a berry infused gin drink with chambord and lemon . In my opinion my friend was targeted by someone there who was prejudice. She is a black women. She was asked to leave for grabbing someone's neck. This was a complete lie and never happened. Roaring Social is a cleverly camouflaged and well-executed secret speakeasy that operates on an IYKYK (if you know you know) basis. The space is far more expansive than you would imagine and nicely decorated with plenty of stylish but comfy seating to view the stage featuring live music artists. Reservations are for 2-hour blocks so plan accordingly if you want to have a table for the live music. The DJ spun an amazing mix of upbeat and feel-good 70s-90s music. Our server Khan was helpful with our menu questions and was attentive without being intrusive. The food and drinks were all flavorful and tasty. We enjoyed the refreshing Pearlandia and the tasty Catcall. Neither the delicious chicken and steak skewers nor bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers were as warm as I would have liked but that wasn't a dealbreaker. It still gives 5-stars. read more

The staff are not personable even a tad and who ever is training the bouncers on removal and deescalation.... do better. These guys are amateur rodeo clowns. Kind of sad because there is so much potential here. We had a reservation and they sat us about two inches from the jazz band that was playing. Very odd seating arrangement. There food was surprisingly good. All small plates, my partner and myself shared prohibition pawns and whiskey glazed chicken. We would have indulged in desert but alas they were out of the Georgia peaches and cream dish we wanted. They were actually kind of out of everything. All the specialty cocktails on page three were unavailable due to a liquor shortage or something at the time. Seems like sad times for a bar. They have boutique bowling lanes and those were really fun. We've been to a couple of these speakeasy clubs, in London and here in the US, comparatively this one was really lacking. read more

To be clear I give Roaring Social 5 stars for ambiance. We love the speakeasy concept, the roll playing, the dance floor is a good size, though we were there on a Thursday so it was not packed. 2 stars... the prices. Portions small and cost more than expected. The cesar salad with chicken was a little over priced. What I find absurd is paying $40 for 3 virgin mojitos, no alcohol. The real mojito was actually .50 cents cheaper. That accounted for 43% of our $94 bill. The bruschetta was $16 for 4 baguette chips with meager toppings. The only thing that was in line with expectations was the draft beer, $7.00. They are probably short staffed like everyone else. If they are paying $15/hr I expect better. If not, well I didn't tip well for mediocre service and the kitchen plays a part in that, the delivery was slow. The waiter was at least friendly. We were there for Kurt Thomas. If we ever go back we'll sit at the bar and drink beer. read more

Came to check this place out early on a Saturday night. It is part of The Hamilton hotel. There are vip ropes at the entrance. There was no line when got there around 7pm but there is definitely a wait later in the evening. You go down the stairs to the basement and enter through a "secret" door. It is a process to get in but that is the Speakeasy experience. Inside has a cool vibe and is dimly lit. There is a stage with cocktail tables and sofas off to the side however it was all reserved. There is a nice bar with a couple TVs. All the seats were taken at the bar when we got there. The drinks were fun and tasty. The Bubbly Bath cocktail comes in a bathtub "cup". There is a small bowling alley in the back and looked to be some additional seating on that side. The clientele is a mix of nicely dressed and more casual. Seems to be a slightly older crowd. It is a hip place to hang out. read more
