We went here to catch a fast bite - split a sandwich and a drink. It was fine. We were the only ones in there- I don't know if that's because it was so hot out and no one was on the streets ! For what we wanted it was fine.

Best sandwiches in Maynard, good quality cold cuts and awesome baguettes. Friendly service, fair price.

Very good quality subs. Better ingredients than some of the competing places for sandwiches. Will order again.

Five enthusiastic stars! Eve & Murray's in Acton is hands-down the best hidden gem for sandwiches,…read morecheese, wine, and gifts. If you're looking for upscale boutique sandwiches, curated charcuterie boards, and a cozy atmosphere with owners who truly care, this is the place to go. My family and I discovered them a couple of years ago, tucked under the West Acton Village building, and they've quickly become our favorite sandwich shop and gourmet cheese market. My son, who is in college always makes a point to get their sandwiches when he is back home. Their sandwiches are upscale, boutique creations. Our family favorite is the Ploughman's Lunch: rosemary ham, mango chutney, pickled red onion, cheddar, and lemony arugula on a Portuguese roll. It's the perfect balance of savory, tangy, and fresh. Our second go-to is the Pig and Fig, which is just as delicious. They also have gluten free bread available. In addition to the sandwiches, their cozy shop sells cheeses (if you love blue cheese you have got to try Rogue River!!), charcuterie, natural wines, craft beer, and carefully curated accompaniments like jams and chutneys. I've gifted their chic napkins and artisanal jams many times, and they always make the perfect host or hostess gift. They even carry unique finds like Bret's goat cheese and chili pepper potato chips, which I can't find anywhere else! On Fridays, they even have free wine tastings, which are such a fun way to discover new bottles. The owners Dawn and Tamara (aka Eve and Murray) are incredibly friendly and passionate about what they do. You can tell they put thought into every cheese, wine, and gift item they bring into the shop!

There's fancy wine, cheese, snacks, interesting ceramic items, wooden spoons and serving plates , toys, etc. After looking around and selecting a few items (some honey, a dark chocolate espresso bar, and 2 small toys for my grandsons) ordered a couple of sandwiches on some fresh baked rolls, Watched the lady make them and then paid $60. Yes it's expensive, but I think it's worth it.

There are several other locations, with Maynard being the newest. I wanted to love it here, but sadly the bagels are underwhelming. If you did a blind taste test with a grocery store or Dunkin Donuts bagel, you would not be able to tell the difference. As someone said in their Google review, the bagels are chewy and don't have a lot of flavor -- but if that's the way you like them, then you may have a different opinion. I wanted you to try the lox and cream cheese bagel, but the prices here are crazy high. Given my less than exciting last two stops here for a bagel, I can't justify the cost for a bagel with a tiny bit of smoked salmon. The one thing that may save this place is their pastries. I don't know if they're made in house, but they all look AMAZING and I'll definitely give those a try when I want to splurge on a dessert item. They had some chocolate muffins/cupcakes with the white spiral across the top that I almost broke down and purchased, and they had cookies, coffee cake and some enticing muffins. (I'll update my review when I give some of those a try.)

It is larger than the Newton spot and a bigger bar area, more extensive menu with many pasta dishes, appetizers. The pizza is my preference . I ordered the Dante pizza and very good meatballs slices on the pizza . The beer selections on draft are all good. I think the pizza crust was better on the Newton pizza... or a perceived perception? But maybe because I really enjoyed the Newton pizza which was the L'oscar which was grilled onions, sausage, mascarpone , olive oil, mushrooms, mozzarella. Maybe the Newton water vs. Sudbury water in the dough theory or maybe I am just being an over anal analyst of the dough? Either case both locations have great pizza. I would test the water at both locations and see affects on the dough and which water had better preferred pizza dough qualities ? Maybe then filter the water or Bri g a 5 gallon jug of the better water for the dough ? Maybe the dirty Boston water or New York water in Bew York bagels theory? Or maybe who cares ? On a different note; The oven baked wings I had in Newton were very good and meaty with the grilled onions ... I do have 1/2 pie to save for next day lunch as their pizza reheats well. I like both locations and Sudbury easier parking .
