Our group of 6 came on a weekday night and got seated right away! We took the waiters recommendations and ordered 4 different pies to share. The crowd favorite was definitely the bees sting. Three of us (all people of color/black) walked in to get a drink. The hostess said there was no room at the bar (even though we could see that there were two seats available). Fine, maybe they don't want people standing at the bar (weird if so, but whatever). We asked if there was any table seating available, and the hostess (without missing a beat and without checking the system OR glancing over) said "Sorry, that's not available either." and sort of stared right at us, giving us this weird, cold vibe. We could see at least 8 to 10 empty tables (maybe even more) AND available outdoor seating, and they remained open for a while after this interaction (we could see that because we ended up going right next door to a much more welcoming spot). The whole experience was very confusing for us, because we were friendly/polite, not inebriated, and not disruptive in any way (can't even believe in this day and age one feels the need to explain that), and we can't figure out why we couldn't be seated...it just felt very "you're not welcome here". read more

Yes, the pizza was good, but... we had really bad luck with the service. Had a reservation for 8:15 (on a Monday!) Showed up at 8:05 (yes, we were early). The apparent manager approached us as we were waiting to see the hostess. He kept looking at his phone as we were talking, as though it had pertinent information on it, but he just wanted us to wait for the hostess in a different place. When we eventually got to talk to her, she asked us to come back in 10 minutes. It was 15 minutes after that (so, 25 minutes after we arrived and 15 minutes after our reservation time) before we were seated, at a table that had been empty since our first interaction. Our server was very pleasant, but he brought one incorrect beer (out of our four drink orders). Then pizzas came out sporadically, with the fourth never arriving. They did take the missing pizza plus one more off our bill, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to go back. read more

Roberta's is usually not great with service (in my past experiences sitting at a table with multiple people) but today I stopped in by myself and sat at the bar. Hunter was my server at the bar. He was awesome. Very friendly and made sure I had what I needed. The experience was totally easy and stress free, despite the restaurant being pretty crowded. Went in on Saturday early to order a simple pizza to go with a toddler. It wasn't busy. Host didn't mention the kitchen was backed-up until 30 minutes later and then said it would only be a few more minutes. After a few more minutes they told me it would be a long time. They gave me refund, that's it! nothing for the time I just wasted getting gaslighted by staff. Will not be going back to this pretentious place. Roberta's is world famous for it's pizza-- but I found the food at this location just OK. We ordered pretty much one of each pizza (the Stinker, the Rosso, the Original, and one or two others I can't remember the names of), the garlic knots, and the two salads (Little Gem & Chicory). The knots are superb - there is no doubt about that. BUT, while everything else was tasty, there wasn't anything that stood out as "wow" or worthy of their reputation. I would 100% go back and give it another try (maybe they were having an off day)- but I was a little underwhelmed. read more

Pizza is excellent. Expensive for the size but what I'd expect in this location, you're paying for the view of the park! So I'm ok with that. I'm only giving it four stars because we ordered two pies (they are personal sized and out server was very clear about that because at first I just ordered one) and then she only brought one... I assumed the second was right behind it but we finished the pie and sat there for another five or six minutes and nobody came over to check on us once or anything. Finally I got her attention and asked her where the second pie was and she just stared at me, and asked if I wanted the second pie. Uh... yeah we want the second pie. What??? It took another 10 minutes, clearly she'd forgotten to put in the order. Now it was annoying, but I wasn't in a rush so I didn't really matter which is why we gave her a generous tip anyway (can't not tip well no matter what in these covid times, in my opinion) but I really would have appreciated if she had just owned the fact that she forgot instead of staring dumbfounded at me as if I was asking for too much to ask for the second pie! I hate when people try to pretend that they didn't make a mistake instead of owning up to it. And the way she did it was so rude that it really put me in a little bit of a bad mood. Anyway, to the server if you're reading this-- just be a little more gracious if you mess up, I tipped 25% but I would've tipped over 30% if you had been kinder. read more

I frankly don't understand the hype for Roberta's. We were hanging out at domino park and decided to grab a pizza here since this place always comes. We ordered the Bee Sting and it was totally mediocre. There was more crust than anything else, and the cheese and toppings tasted fine but not worth neither the price nor distinction of being particularly good pizza especially with better selections nearby. Service was okay. We ordered and received a device that would vibrate when ready. We waited in their outdoor seating area, after 40 minutes of not ringing (and it wasn't that busy) I walked in, gave my name and the pizza had been ready. Heard a few other people complain they were never notified either. So us and a lot of other people got some cold pizza. At this point I think people want to like Roberta's since it's "Roberta's" but I'll never come here again because l'industrie is down the street for good pizza and a number of other restaurants nearby if you want a good sit down place. read more

When I moved to the Williamsburg hood 6 months ago, one of the things I was most excited for was to find a local spot to frequent. It didn't take long for Roberta's to fulfill that desire. It checks all the boxes of 1) convenience 2) amazing food 3) lovely staff 4) great ambiance and 5) it had to be a pizza place because pizza is my favorite food in the entire world, and there isn't a close second. My favorites are: Little gem salad Stracciatella Famous original Margherita I don't eat meat but I've been with friends who eat the bee sting and said it's their favorite. Also they do cheeky things with their menu sometimes. Once they had a pizza called the nightshade parm'th, and that's obviously the best episode of it's always sunny of all time. That pun in particular really slapped. Summer here is unreal as you can sit outside right next to Domino. We even bring our dog Mazie and she's a fan of the outdoor vibes and (if she's lucky) pizza crust. Also very much disagree with reviews saying there is bad service - have been here 15+ times and have had lovely interactions every single time. Good vibes. Phenomenal pizza. Apple Maps won't take you to the exact location- it's on the corner of River and Grand. Great food, tasteful music, and mellow atmosphere. Must have: -Bee Sting Pizza Thin crust and great mozzarella. The honey drizzle really takes the sauce up a notch. read more

This is their second NY location and I had a pretty solid and similar experience as I did with their Williamsburg/Bushwick location - solid pizza but takes a while to get the food. Came here with two friends with a reservation on a weekday for dinner and while we enjoyed the food, it took an hour+ to get out. We ordered a couple of cocktails and wine for the table and got the chicken liver mousse agnolotti, the bee sting pizza, the crispy glover pizza, and the white and greens pizza (ordered later on in meal after a little buzz) to share. For cocktails, got the banana hammock (lol) that was coming off the menu and el santo's paradise. They were tasty and did the job. In regards to the food, I thought the amount ordered was perfect for a satisfied full, but not quite food coma full. Out of all the food, the pizzas were definitely the highlight and while the chicken liver mousse agnolotti was good, I think best to stick with pizza while at Roberta's and get in a pasta fix at any of the other good Italian restaurants in NYC. Out of the pizzas, I liked the crispy glover pizza the best. Really delicious and the vibe was nice! My favorite was the sungold pasta, so much flavor! Next time I have to get one just for me lol The pizza was good, I had the beesting which the server said was the most popular. I could definitely see why it was, the fusion of spicy, sweet and savory was really interesting. I wasn't crazy about the Straciatella, very plain! Maybe it would have been elevated for me if it was served with garlic bread. To finish the delicious meal with I had sticky buns with sorbet which were *chefs kiss*. If I could leave less stars I would. My boyfriend and I usually come to this location. We live in the community and of course on April 24th around 7:40 PM we walked to Roberta's to have a sit down dinner. The person at the register took our phone number and name and informed us that the waiting time would be possibly an hour or so. Needless to say I am still waiting on a call or a text from them to tell me that they had no available tables for two people that night. I received a text stating that we were on the waiting list. However, I find it extremely rude that we didn't even get notified about no availability. As you may know there are several different pizza shops around the community if I would have known that Roberta's was not going to accommodate us we would have gladly gone to another place with better customer service. Amazing pizzas! The perfect crust, the most delicious sauce, perfect toppings and all in all, a delight! We have been here multiple times and usually get the original, stinker and rosso. This time we also tried the Cacio e Pepe pasta and it wasn't good - the portion was extremely small, more like an appetizer than an entree. Plus it wasn't cooked enough - beyond al dente for sure. Really delicious pizza with one of the best seasoned red sauces I've tasted. Only complaint is that the pies are definitely on the smaller side (I thought their small could have been a personal pie) and the crust was a little too charred for my liking.
