Ok so me and my wife sat at the bar since two seats where available and you can order from the bar. We'll bartender was helping every local that was sitting in the bar taking there oder and drinks. Not once did he make eye contact with us nor did he ask if we wanted a drink or order off the menu. We had to wait for a waitress to come take our order. Was really awkward knew he was just a prejudice asshole!! Never again coming to this wanna be Mexican restaurant!! Food was terrible! Great place to have Mexican food in Mammoth. The portions are very large and the price is average. They get very busy so plan for a wait. There is a wide selection to the menu, with shrimp enchiladas also (shrimp in every bite). The bar menu is extensive with many variations of margaritas. The wait was about 25 minutes. I ordered a bowl of albóndigas soup because it was pretty chilly in Mammoth Lake at night. It was on the salty side. Too salty that I couldn't finish it. That's why I had to knock down one star. Otherwise , the service was great ! Our waiter brought us our food and drinks right away and extra chips and salsa also. My friend Carey ordered a chicken chimichanga and it was huge and looked delicious. He loved it. My friend Matt ordered a lobster burrito and it was even bigger than Carey's chimichanga!!! It was enormous!!! He also loved it. My boyfriend ordered a bowl of chicken and rice soup. He let me try it and it was perfect, not too salty like my albóndigas soup. The decor is really nice , clean inside and spacious. We couldn't find a parking space so we parked in the shopping center across the street and walked to the restaurant. I have been here during the winter (pre-COVID) and summer (July 2021 - during COVID). I was not disappointed either time. I ordered the fajita with mixed chicken and beef. The only downside to the fajitas is that it doesn't come in a sizzling plate , which is what I am used to. In the winter you better get here early because the wait can be as long as 1.5 hours depending on when you get there. It was pretty busy in the summer too, but that's because tables are at a premium inside and some outside on the patio. The family enjoyed their food as well so I don't think you can go wrong here. What I learned from coming to Mammoth for the first time was that not many restaurants are open late. We found Roberto's on yelp and decided this was it. When we walked in, we were a little confused where to go. A couple of guys told us the dining room was upstairs so we made our way up there. We were greeted by a server and given a table immediately. We ordered a draft beer, duck burrito, and california burrito which was the special for the day. The duck burrito was super packed with duck. Seriously, there was no holding back here. The duck was cooked well although it needed more seasoning. The California burrito was massive. This one was seasoned perfectly. For the money you're paying, the food is worth it. The food was served piping hot. Chips and salsa were also included. We could not finish our food and definitely had some leftovers for the next day. They have their own lot which made parking easy. This is always my first stop when coming to Mammoth! The chimichangas are to die for! The lower level with all the tables and outdoor seating combined with the full bar on the upper level provides a nice balance for families and those without kids. Came here over MDW with a large group of friends - we were seated relatively quickly and the service was decent, that is the good. The bad....they got my wife's order wrong and the food I ordered (El Jefe Burrito) had zero flavor other than being heavily over-salted. I never complain about salt, but good lord this was salty. Large portions for burritos. Food isn't authentic by any means, but still quite good/decent. But their soups are so small and expensive given how small they are. Albondigas soup was really tasty - it really is more of a beef stew type flavor than traditional tomato based albondiga soup. Sopa de pollo y arroz was good, but albondigas was better. We visit Mammoth once or twice a year, and this place is a must stop every time we're in town! The food is just delicious. They have the best albondigas soup ever! The enchilada sauce tastes homemade, and it's so so good. The chile rellenos are one of the best I've ever tasted. I usually get the Tostada Del Mundo with carne asada and it never disappoints! It's huge! Two people could easily share it. The reason I gave four stars instead of five is because of the salsa. It's too spicy, and they don't offer a milder version. We decided to stop here and eat lunch because our condo wasn't ready yet. The chips were decent, salsa was on the spicy side, service was mediocre... What really made me go from 3 to 2 stars were the entrees. We ordered beef nachos, chicken flautas & a plain cheese quesadilla. As you will see below two years ago we thought this place was amazing couldn't wait to get back. Today we were both pretty disappointed, not sure if it was because we ordered something different, but the food was bland and more of a disappointment. Food is good (only reason why I gave 1 more star) we got a carne asada burrito, quesadilla and veggie burrito. It's not authentic Mexican food, so it's average. Whoever said it's the best probably eats only Taco Bell, but can't knock that Taco Bell is good too haha. Don't forget to ask for rice and beans if you want it, they won't ask and it doesn't come with it. The service here is TERRIBLE. They drop and go. They do not acknowledge you.
