I have been to this taproom and eatery a few times now, it is a great dog-friendly, big group friendly casual dining spot in the heart of Mammoth. The food is decent, it's never going to absolutely wow you but it will be sufficient and well priced. This time I tried their mac and cheese, it was cheesy and I liked the type of pasta noodle they used that allowed it to get extra crispy and crunchy with the spiral texture, however it was a little dry and on the blander side for mac! The ordering system is great and straightforward, you order and pay on your phone and then food appears straight to your table! Genius, convenient and perfect for groups as there's no splitting the bill awkwardly at the end. And the dog friendliness is so clutch, our pups always enjoy the sunshine and rest. Really great spot I would recommend in a sea of terrible touristy Mammoth dining establishments. read more

A brewery and eatery with a classic selection and good vibes all around. They have a downstairs area just for drinking with some fun games to play with your group while you wait for a table to eat upstairs. It was around a 45 min wait at 6pm on a Saturday but goes by pretty quick with a pitcher and good company. Onto the food, I got a Hot Chicken Sandwich which is one of my favorite foods, but my expectations weren't too high if I'm being completely honest. But was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. Classic assembly of pickles, slaw, on a roll, with a fat slab of chicken that wasn't dry at all, and a really nice medium heat to give it a kick. We ended up here because we were seriously hangry after driving from SoCal and hiking Rainbow Falls. It's one of those spots where the only service you get is them bringing food to your table--everything else is self-order and self-serve. The water was room temperature, and when we asked for ice, the bartenders were pretty stingy with it. The onion rings, though, were a hit--crispy and served with a variety of sauces. Bonus points for not charging extra for more sauces! The mac and cheese was a bit of a letdown. The bacon on top wasn't cooked, and the cheese was just sitting there on top, not mixed in, making the noodles dry. The spicy meatballs were tasty, but the side of garlic bread was a different story--clearly burnt on the bottom. It was a quick bite, but honestly, I probably wouldn't come back. read more

The hostess was very nice to us. She sat us upstairs and showed us how to order at the table with the QR codes and was very friendly. The beer lady was the exact opposite. She had a very negative attitude when dropping off the beer to us. Her face, body language and attitude towards us in the brief ~30 second interaction was enough to start to ruin the entire visit. We ordered a couple of food items. It was the worst kids grilled cheese I have ever seen or eaten. There was barely any cheese, and the bread was so toasted that it could barely be eaten. Our kids got expensive hot dogs that seemed microwaved within an inch of their life or perhaps left over from the day before? My husband got a spicy chicken sandwich that was literally chicken tenders in a bun. The beer isn't good enough to give the food a pass. I don't get how this place doesn't have a full five stars. The food was absolutely spectacular! It was my family's first time to mammoth and instead of trying a different place we went here twice! The people working were so welcoming & friendly. The beers we got were the huckleberry sour & elderberry sour. Both were excellent. If I could give this place a 10 I would. We got the bahn mi, the burger, chicken sandwich, and the meatball sandwich. All were phenomenal, but the bahn mi was to die for. Definitely go and try!!! read more

Food and beer was awesome had a 30 minute wait (valid it gets busy at night ) . However our upstairs bartender was horrible ! Tried to tell us our IDs were fake and proceeded to ask his coworker if it was fake. Mind you we had been served down stairs and a bartender should know how to check ids especially California ids in California . We then proceeded to sit at our table and watch him chug beers behind the bar so that could explain his rapid stand-off ish behavior. Got seated immediately and employees are super friendly! The sweet potato tots are life-altering: perfectly crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Also got the braised beef plate: the beef was super tasty, but the salad had no dressing and was just a pile of leaves and I did not like the potato thing on the side. The food here was great and tasty. Especially the mac n cheese, it was very flavorful once you mix it well. I do recommend the drinks as well, they're very nice and refreshing and do have a unique taste to it. There isn't much service to be expected compared to a usual restaurant but they do bring the food to your table. The whole setting of the restaurant was pretty nice and clean as well so it led to a great overall experience. There is a lot of seating so you can bring all your friends as well!! Great Food! Great Beer! Great atmosphere and a nice warm welcoming spot after a day on the hill. Went there with my wife and my son (toddler) and we had a great time! Best burger I've had in a long time. My wife really liked the veggie burger, and she can be a tough critic. My son gave his full tummy review (the highest accolade a toddler can give) to the cheese flatbread and onion rings! He also loved the root beer! I walked .5 miles (uphill) to order a salad to-go and they said they were too busy for to-go orders. Their website doesn't say anything about not taking to-go orders. Come for the beer, not the food...or service. We got the chicken strips, burgers, tacos, and chicken sandwich. The food was decent but overpriced for what it was. Our order came out a few items at a time. The host was very nice as was the person who sat us, however the food was basically thrown onto the table and that server was gone faster than she appeared. I'm not big on places you order yourself at prices you expect to be served, we probably won't be back. Also, everything had sweet pickles, just a heads up. Cool spot, great views, below average food. Ordered the "lil sweeties" which are the sweet potato tots. They came out luke warm / cold, were extra salty and extra sweet. There was also a hair cooked into them. Also ordered the cilantro sour cream chicken tacos. They arrived with a strange corn/cabbage salad and no fork and the sauce was quite literally cilantro and sour cream -- it also arrived luke warm / cold. On the plus side, the chicken was pretty good. Finally, ordered the damn good burger and it wasn't very good and definitely didn't deserve the damn. This place is also known as the Mammoth Brewing Co. We ended up eating here for both lunch and dinner in one day. We sat outside with our pup for lunch. Ordered the Damn Good Burgers, fries and Gordo Birria Beef Short Rib Tacos. Tacos and fries were good but the burger was not as 'damn good' as we remembered them from past visits. We got a pitcher of beer and a coke. Was a bit turned off by one of the female servers who said that going inside would be faster to get a refill on the coke upon my request for a refill. Thanks a lot for you help (insert sarcasm). For dinner we ate inside on the 2nd level. We ordered the Gordo Birria Beef Short Rib Tacos again, Spicy Sicilian Meatballs, Just fries and the Just Cheese Flatbread. The tacos were good again. The meatballs were probably a tad over cooked and a little dry and the cheese pizza was 'just ok'. It looked like something you would make at home with kids. The fries were not good this time. Tasted old, as if they sat crisped under a heat lap or re-fried because they sat out too long. read more

This has been a staple for all our Mammoth trips. We love coming here after a day in the slopes in the winter or fishing and exploring during the summer and spring. Located inside Mammoth Brewing, this is hard to miss since it's a corner spot. Parking has never been an issue. Lots of seating inside and upstairs. During the warmer months, the picnic area is nice too. The many times I've been here there are a few items either gone or added to their menu. Not sure if some of it is seasonal. My personal favorite is the Goat Cheese & Black Currant flatbread pizza. I get this every single time. No meat, just goat & gruyere cheese, onions, garlic, dried black currant, topped with arugula & a balsamic glaze. I just drooled typing that. The fries with their house sauce is perfect for starters. The Damn Good burger is delicious (option to make it a veggie burger). We also ordered their Buddha Bundle - falafel wrapped in naan bread with all the trimmings. The Korean steak sandwich was also good. The salads are always a great lighter option. Separate counter for the Eatery, you have to buy your drinks at the bar. Don't forget to try a flight of their brews & btw, the rootbeer is banging... it is so creamy & smooth. Grab a pitcher or two! Good food. Good vibes. Excellent service. Great time. read more

I posted a review that got deleted for Mammoth Brew Co., which apparently is a completely separate business from the kitchen inside the establishment. Go figure. The beer at Mammoth Brew Co is good. Possibly not worth dealing with the crowds and lack of seating, but overall good. The the food here at their kitchen, "The EATery" is garbage. Been 3 times, all 3 times me and my friends left disappointed. Got sick off of the Korean Tacos, the burger is overpriced and painfully average, and the flat bread tasted stale and was also over priced. Highly recommend not going here for food. Go into the town (not the village) instead if you want to find a better, more affordable, and more satisfying meal. This entire establishment sports long wait times (often in freezing cold weather), lack of seating, a loud, crowded environment, and lackluster service. Don't mean to be so negative, but don't make the same mistake we made 3 times now. It doesn't get any better. read more

Ordering system is of the QR code variety, and it's a bit annoying to have two separate orders for drinks and food. However, I really appreciated the variety. Fried chicken w griddlecake - the chicken was fried nice and crisp, and I appreciated the greens on the plate. Lots of sweet sauce to flavor everything. The burger got rave reviews, and we all enjoyed our food. The fries we got to share was a big portion and came with chipotle aioli. For the eclectic and good food, this is the place. Their menu always seems to rotate, so be sure to look at all the selections before deciding. My only complaint is that it seems to get very busy and the line to order can be extremely long. When ordered, however, the food comes promptly. Located in the Mammoth Brewing Company building, there are ways to kill the time while you are waiting in line to order. If you have multiple people in your party, it makes it rather convenient to order a drink. The beers are excellent and, if you have underage folks in your party or just don't drink beer, the root beer is phenomenal. There is seating upstairs, downstairs, and outside. Parking lot next door seems adequate. And its reasonably close to a shuttle stop. Try it. You won't regret. read more

The Eatery in located inside Mammoth Brewing. They have a separate line on the inside first floor to order at. The line was at least 40 mins long and friends that were there the day before said the line was about the same. With only one cashier, I had to take a star off on the rating. Good things followed though. The gentleman taking our order was friendly, had some jokes to entertain us, checked our order to make sure it was correct and made the transaction smooth. I was waiting for my friends to order but he suggested if I had a table already (which we did) to bring the number there as food will start coming out soon. He was right, within a minute or so of sitting down, our food was out nice and hot too. The burger was very tasty. So much better than I excepted as I was thinking it would just be ok. There are self serve water stations in the middle of the upstairs seating area which we were at. To make the meal more enjoyable, they had games. Our table opted for some rounds of connect 4. Service was great and food runners/servers kept checking in to make sure we had everything. There is a private parking lot for patrons of Mammoth Brewing and the Eatery. Just a heads up: The menu is above where you order and as they run out of items, they are marked as sold out if that is the case. Looked like a hopping place so we wanted to give it a try for our family dinner. We decided to sit outside so put our name on the waitlist (there is a separate waitlist for indoor dining). We were told it would take about 35 minutes. It ended up taking WAY longer, but we stuck it out rather than start over somewhere else. The QR code ordering system is a little off-putting; not sure if it's the same way inside. It's so impersonal and you can't ask any questions. The kids liked playing corn hole while waiting for our food order. Drinks are ordered separately from food, but you can do that inside at the bar or online. My husband went inside for our pitcher of Imperial Root Beer and we got it fairly quickly. It was really good! We got most of our order maybe around 15 minutes after placing it, except for my son, who ordered a flatbread pizza. He still hadn't gotten it maybe 10 minutes after the rest of us got our food. I had to go inside and ask about it, when I was told that those get backed up in making them. It seemed very odd that we would all get our food so much before him. It still took another 5 minutes or so before it came out. Also, we ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer, which was brought out with our entrees ‍ It was very different and tasty though. My husband really liked his Birria tacos, my daughter was wanting another chicken sandwich the next day but $20 for my small side salad with chicken was just average and way overpriced. After dinner we went in to buy a 4 pack of their beer to go. Bartender gave us the "locals" discount for our pizza wait earlier, but walked away from the register before the transaction was complete then got into a conversation down at the other end of the bar while I was still trying to pay.
