The food is amazing! We ordered the brisket and the chicken wings and neither disappointed - fell apart and so smokey. The sauces are okay, but I personally don't think they even need them as they just mask the flavor of the meat. The interaction on the other hand was less than to be desired. The owner took our order and checked us out. Us being there seemed to be more of an inconvenience and annoyance than anything. We move to Port Richey in late February, and Robert's BBQ was the first restaurant we tried. We were in a hotel so we did pick up, very fast service. The pulled pork was fantastic and the rib's had terrific smoke flavor. Collard greens, potato salad and slaw are always great. The last time we went the smoke flavor was missing on the pulled pork , but the ribs were still amazing. I have to try some of the smoked desserts. There is indoor dining available. Ample parking. This is one of those places where if you blink while driving along you'll probably miss it, if you're going north it's just to the right when you go over the bridge in Port Richey. I had the Brisket dinner and there was plenty of food and the price was great. Not much seating, I think they had a couple of picnic tables but people probably mostly do take-out for here. They had 3 smokers running which added to the experience/smell and so you knew the food was fresh and done nicely. read more

REALLY GOOD BBQ! Although this place is also short staffed they provided the best to-go service they could. The day I tried their BBQ one of their main meat freezers were out of order so they were only serving Pork and Beef brisket that day with choice of Potato Salad and Cole slaw only. We purchased the Family Pack meal which comes with a pound of meat, two sides, and bread. Also bought drinks from the cooler outside. They have many choices of BBQ sauce to choose from. The Tennessee flavor was pretty good- sweet yet a pinch of bitter taste and zing of spice. Good! We will definitely be back- I want to try other items on the menu. My only complaint is we asked for extra sauce when using an app to deliver we ended up with no sauce. Thankfully we had our own in the fridge but we like theirs a lot. Damn good bbq! I would choose this over any other place around here, hands down. We got wings and brisket... (plus sides of mac-n-cheese, beans, & coleslaw)... best I've ever had for both. Puts Dr. Rolf's in Muskegon to shame. I've never had wings cooked so perfectly... every bit fell clean off the bone. The two gentlemen working were sweet as could be. The best/fairest way to review this place is to say it was reasonable food. It's New Port Richey 5 star and 3/3.5 stars anywhere else. Have to be fair to the place and say it's one of the better meals I ate in that town. I've had BBQ in the best places in Memphis, St Louis; Dallas, The ribs were well prepared...best of what I had. Burnt ends were OK and the brisket was below average. Sides were reasonable, not special - not sending them back to the kitchen. If you have a hankering for BBQ, give them a shot. We've tried this place several times and my husband loves the shredded pork. I initially, loved the brisket but only the first time. I bought a pound of brisket and Maybe one single piece was good but the rest was tough and dry. We basically threw it away. It's a huge hit and miss there and, recently, it's been mostly misses. Major bummer as the first time went it was beyond incredible. Probably won't go back any time soon. We tried the burnt ends again and they're so dry you can't eat them. Yes, a very modest outcropping of several freshly painted brick red and black buildings nicely set back from Highway 19, on their own tree lined " block" AND this GIANT black cast iron SMOKER right square in the middle of his entire property belching huge plumes of wood smoke non stop! Robert is a perfectionist with all aspects of his cooking - - which cuts of meat, picking the meatiest RIB sides I have EVER eaten! Brisket seasoned perfectly, rich rich deep Smokey flavor permeating each juicy piece with almost NO fat. To die for, really, hhhmmmm. FRESH salmon baked perfectly in the smoker where each piece falls from the fork flaking gently, super moist, subtle flavors. The sausage is VERY rich with a powerful Smokey flavor. Haven't yet tried the chicken, but the photos of the smoked chicken wings looked ENTICING.... wanted to buy that too! The home made baked beans and ESP the FAB dirty rice are super delicious!!! About 6 different barbecue sauces too. And folk rave about the " burnt ends" which we JUST discovered on today's visit via their NEW comprehensive menu. We discovered Robert's completely by accident 4 years ago after a round of golf. He has this giant statue of a grand hog in the front which along with his entire property, really appealed to us. And I just learned from a coworker that her husband, a top chef in Sarasota, along with his other Chef friends, all know of Robert's super delicious barbecue. Her chef husband said," chefs all over via word of mouth, go eat at Robert's." Definitely not a great looking place but oh my the food was absolutely delicious. Ordered a family pack 2 meats and 2 sides and a rack of ribs . A lot of good for 2 people but we had tried a few things at a friends so we knew we'd like it . Brisket and pulled pork, Mac and cheese , slaw and corn bread . Huge portions and a beautiful rack of ribs . You can sit outside or inside in a little building with sort of old decor but it was immaculate. Everything was great except slaw was a little ordinary but fresh and crispy . Ate till we were full and then packed up leftovers and we ate most of what's left for dinner and still have enough for maybe 2 sandwiches. Great food and all of it was less than $45 . If you haven't been to Roberts Smokin BBQ you just don't know what you are missing. The open atmosphere with the Smokey smells makes your mouth water. We ordered for the whole day as it's football Saturday. We ordered pulled pork sandwiches, slab of ribs, smoked wings, corn bread, and sides of beans and coleslaw. Robert greeted us and Nealiyan helped us order. Very friendly. Now the really best part, the pork was juicy and a large serving(we took all to go and I really appreciated that the meat was separated from the bread) the ribs truly fall off the bones and the wings were juicy with a great Smokey flavor. Wow talk about people with a passion for smoking meat and barbecue. What a treat to pull up and see 4 or 5 smokers going at once. As first timers who drove up from Palm Harbor, we went for the 2 meat combo plate and between us got the sausage, burnt ends, brisket and beef rib. The brisket was very moist with lots of meat, burnt ends were yummy but that Rib was fall off the bone seasoned perfection. Truly the best beef rib I've had in the Bay Area and I think I know good Que thanks to it being one of my Husband's favorite food groups;) Our sides of baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad were all tasty but again the star was that rib. I could have eaten at least 3 if we had them. So if you order them I'd say go for the slab. I think it's only $4 more than the 1/2 slab. It's eat at picnic benches in a parking lot but friendly service and a value for the generous portions. I ordered a pound of beef brisket. Honestly, it was OK didn't seem to be the highest quality very stringy and the sauce no good. I will say that the interaction with the help was a one star! Guy slides the window open looking at a cell phone doesn't say hello.
