Wednesday, 12:30: My second visit, back for their avocado toast, and it did not disappoint. Again I nixed the butter, because why? The avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy. The salt & pepper enhanced the flavor profile. Loved the almost hard-boiled egg on the side, yoke a tad melty in the center. Be still my heart, the avocado toast was actually toasted, enough that I could eat with my hand instead of struggling with a fork & glorified butter knife. Must be a San Francisco thing, every else on my travels the cafes own a toaster & actually use it. Last time I sat outside on a cafe table, pretty sweet. The indoor space is huge. It's big enough to handle some laptop squatters & still have a few open table for people who actually bought something to eat. Hello, it's a cafe. When I come to Robin's, I always get the same thing the BLT slider, which is very very good. I highly recommend it. The bacon is incredible so today being lunchtime I decided to finally try something new and I had the steak sandwich. Also very very good and highly recommended now that I know that so many other things are great. I'm gonna have to come back soon and try everything the great little spot he can skip the long line at the stable and come here. Coffee is also great. Wandered into this cute cafe for a matcha latte to go and ended up sitting down to enjoy the tastiest steak sandwich and a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie, too! The ambiance was Insta-worthy, the service was friendly and prompt. Cookies were just out of the oven and the sandwich was made to order with an amazing pepper sauce, fresh greens, melted mozzarella (or a choice of cheddar) and tender steak. I spoke to Enrique who said they bake everything fresh and the bread for the sandwiches is ordered from Panorama everyday. Owners husband is Extremely rude , he got upset over my friend bringing her own coffee in to the establishment and all we were doing was ordering something to-go and we were going on our Mary way . never ever going back his face still haunts me he almost felt threatening . Awesome cafe! We came here recently to get some work done. Cafe has a ton of seating, fast WiFi, and is super spacious. Staff is also extremely friendly. We had some questions about their orange juice as it was way lighter than we typically expect, and instead of just answering, the lady cut open the orange they use and had us try! I got a cortado, and it was solid. Espresso was pulled well, and the milk was steamed just right. The orange juice we got was also super distinct; almost had a banana flavor to it, probably due to the different types of oranges they use right now. Robin's Cafe is an absolute gem cafe in the mission district. It is very spacious and the staff is very friendly. I always get either the Chipotle steak or Pork Belly sandwich. Both of these sandwiches are very tasty, meaty, crunchy, and i highly recommend! I'm not a big eater, but dare i say, I could eat two in one seating. It's close to Dolores park as well, so you can even stop by to grab a sandwich before heading to the park. read more

I always drive by this coffee shop and never have time to stop by, until last weekend. I was meeting a friend and we're deciding we're to meet, I remember this place since we were going to Dolores Park afterwards. The place was not busy, a couple of people outside/inside. Plenty of seat+tables in the back since they share the space with ODC The service was quick, informative, & pleasant. The food was quiet flavorful and quiet delicious. Presentation was on point Coffee was good, I had a drip and my fiend had a cappuccino and he quiet liked it. It was an overall wonderful experience. For $15 it's a high price but the quality and presentation were phenomenal. I thoroughly enjoyed sipping the foamy goodness of the latte while I did business on my phone. Mmm that was the best latte I've had all year!! I loved this meal! The toast was crunchy around the edge, soft in the center, well buttered too. The 'cado was tasty, no wrongdoings to be found. Likewise with the hardboiled eggs. The salt topping was so good! Service was fast too! I sat down at 10:32am and had my meal served by 10:40am. Big props these people are working hard!! There's a perfect mixture of sun and shade in this sit-in-if-you-want coffee shop with a chill ambience that is hard to come by in SF. Sinful choc chip cookies made with real butter, cold brew better than what I make at home, and great service. Will stop by again for their lunch offerings. Only caveat is that they are closer to the heart of Mission and 16th rather than Dolores Park as stated. But that's a plus if looking for a neighborhood option! read more

The roasted mushroom sandwich. Those are shimeji mushrooms (im guessing), stringy mushrooms. Hosin sauce was a bit much. Will try to ask for no hosin sauce. Avocado was really good as well as their bread that was crunchy and held everything together. The side salad was good (always good to have greens). Next time try their hot chocolate made themselves. Great place for lunch with tasty sandwiches. My work ordered Robin's Cafe for lunch and it was a solid spot for a filling meal. I ordered the roasted chipotle steak sandwich, which also came with a side salad tossed in a simple vinaigrette. It was a pretty large portion of food for the price, which I believe was $15. The steak sandwich had plenty of sauce in it, and it gave just the right amount of kick. The bread was very soft and toasted just right, and the steak itself was amazing. It fell apart as soon as I bit into it and the proportions of all the fillings in the sandwich were great. I also ordered a cinnamon morning bun, but wasn't given that unfortunately. They ended up giving a chocolate chip cookie, which was good, but not what I wanted. Overall, Robin's Cafe is pretty tasty with large and filling meals. Sad that I wasn't able to try the cinnamon morning bun, but hopefully next time I'm able to. read more

In between dance classes I usually sit next to the window sipping the matcha latte made with oak milk and having a piece of zucchini bread, while people watching... it has become a thing as I really love the food and drink made by people who care. Sometimes I stroll on Shotwell just because it feels like the most genteel street in the Mission with all those Victorians and low-key businesses like the Timbuk2 outlet and of course, Shotwell's Bar. Robin's just caught my eye because I didn't expect a cafe on this street. I was wondering if there was a weight ceiling for customers because I saw several skinny people walk in, but then it dawned on me it was part of the OCD Theater. Dancers, y'know. Oh good, there are people with normal appetites in here, too. I've come here a couple of times, and I just don't get the warm fuzzies. Funny thing is that my visits were months apart, but I had similar experiences. Both times, I ordered the $3.85 Cafe au Lait (photo: http://bit.ly/2J2fCCh) and the $5.50 Fruit Bowl, a mix of blueberries, strawberries, and banana slices. Both times they yelled my coffee order out loud for me to pick up, and both times they made me pick up my fruit bowl at the same time. I juggled holding both items on my way back to a table. So what was the point of giving me a number? The coffee was decent enough, but they got overly creative in serving their fruit. I really like this place. I tend to hang here while my daughter goes to dance class at odc on Saturday mornings... it's clean, sunny, the staff is really nice, the food is well- priced, substantial, beautiful and delicious. I had the almond butter toast this morning. It was quite large with a thick slice of bread and thinly sliced strawberries and banana drizzled with honey. It was so good! read more

Stopped in for an iced oat milk latte. The space itself is nice and clean. The latte had too much ice for my liking considering it came out to be about $7 but that's common SF pricing. The overloading of ice also caused a meds when I tried to put a lid on and poke a straw through. If they weren't so nice I would've considered a lower rating! read more

Terrific sandwiches, with an okay mixed green salad and good homemade dressing. The Cubano is perfect. The pulled pork is a little sweet but good anyway. I've never had a bad meal here. Some things are a little pricey, but the ingredients are always fresh. The coffee is fine. (Mine is better.) If you're doing indoor dining it's a comfortable spot with room to meet in a big group in the back. They have a few small tables outside. This is a good block of Shotwell. The staff and owners are pleasant. If you're getting food to go, call ahead, because a hot sandwich will take about 10 minutes or so. Clean bathrooms, good light, good wifi. This is a safe place to use the bathroom. Enter and pass through the dining area and they're in the back, large restrooms that are used by ODC theater at night. read more

These days I try to stop by Robin's at least once a week to pick up my favorite salad in San Francisco. The chicken salad! Packed with yummy diced chicken, apples, red onion, cranberries, walnuts, and more on a bed of baby spinach and mixed greens with a tangy citrus dressing, this salad always makes my day. It's so satisfying and delicious. Everyone at Robin's is so nice and friendly, which makes it one of my favorite cafes in the cIty. In addition to a full set of coffee and tea offerings, fresh pastries and juices, they have a great menu of freshly made sandwiches and other salads loaded with flavor like the Cobb which is my second favorite. I've also had their chipotle steak sandwich (as a salad) and their avocado toast -- both are fantastic! This cafe has had a number of changes over the years, and where it is settling with its menu under its current owners and staff is INCREDIBLE and DELICIOUS! As small businesses and restaurants are cutting some corners to make ends meet during these uncertain COVID times (and I understand the need to do what's necessary for businesses to survive), Robin's Cafe has upped their game significantly. The menu was great before the pandemic (I was always a personal fan of their avocado toast, coffee, chia bowls, BLTs and fresh juice). Since reopening, their menu has expanded to amazing pulled pork sandwiches, steak sandwiches, delicious bread pudding and expanded breakfast slider meals. I've had just about everything, and everything is delicious. I also highly recommend the "Good Squeeze" juice they press in house - they have a wide selection of unique flavor combos. Came serendipitously to this cafe because we found a parking spot nearby, had limited time but also very hungry. Ordered the breakfast BLT sliders, and omg it was delicious. Comes with a generous portion of side salad as well that was fresh and great balance. My husband was saying that he always feel cheated by sliders but these elevated the eating experience with their soft buttery slider buns and fluffy eggs. Their coffee is from linea, did not disappoint. Service was super quick, had plenty of time to eat because the food came out so fast. Also everyone is very nice inside! Cute sunny cafe inside and outside (well when SF weather permits) Like Free water jug has cucumbers in it adding a nice touch and giving a spa feeling. Vegan chocolate chip pretzel cookie- this is the best tasting vegan cookie I've ever had. I'm not usually a fan of vegan baked goods but this cookie didn't taste as flat and cardboard-like that many other vegan baked items can. It's perfect if you like salty and sweet together. Table ledges looking out to the street to people watch. Don't like Food too salty for my tastebuds- I've gotten a few things and they all tend to be a bit more on the salty side. Perfect for someone who likes it salty but it was too much for me. They put big salt flakes on the Avocado toast so I always make sure to get that off. Best avocado toast in town! When I first saw it, I didn't think it was going to taste that incredible. But really the bread is spectacular (I think it's batard?) and every bite is delicious. Stopping by twice to try that toast, I decided to venture back to eat a couple meals at their nice sidewalk dining and I loved it even more. The service is very friendly and welcoming: they'll chat with you if you engage them. And my sense is they take real pride in their work, which is always great. I had the misfortune of being "that" customer yesterday not realizing that the cafe has closed 1 min prior to me walking in. Thankfully a friendly employee still took my order: a iced matcha latte and a slice of the lavender banana bread. How grateful was I that: (1) they still accommodated me which wasn't necessary but greatly appreciated (2) I had the perfect slightly sweet, slightly earthy matcha latte to top off my walk home and (3) I was able to experience the beautiful lavender banana bread which was both moist, sweet and floral Thanks again team at Robin's Cafe, I'll be sure to look more closely at your cafe's hours before stepping in again but I'll sure be coming back and I highly suggest everyone to do the same! read more

I came in for a salad and iced coffee after the gym, and after walking past this place innumerable times I'm so glad I finally stopped in and tried it! The cold brew was amazingly strong but not too bitter, and I really enjoyed the green apples and cranberries on the chicken salad . You might be tempted to come in just for coffee, but you'd be missing out, because the real gems are in all of the pastries and food. All of the items are made fresh daily (brisket slow cooked nightly for the next day--I've seen it!). I would highly recommend the bread pudding, chocolate chip cookies, brisket sandwich, pork belly sandwich, or cuban sandwich. If you're looking for a healthy drink, they have fresh pressed juices in their bottled drink section. Honestly, I could eat the sandwiches every day. They come with great bread and some additional touches that just take it to the next level. You know a sandwich place is legit when they have the skewers in it to make sure it doesn't fall apart while eating. I don't know what kind of pickles they use, but they are just *chef's kiss* amazing. All the sandwiches come with a salad too! It was still fulfilling and better then too much meat on a sandwich with all that bread( sometimes) I really liked the espresso that they give you. Good because it's near odc and has a nice clean decor so for the mission, it's a nice little cozy work place. It's probably a decent place if your a dancer Or by the park. if you want food there tons of better options vegan or food options ( or priced better as this place your paying a premium for items which you can walk two blocks down to gus market), but man the morning manager dude is extremely angry and condescending to all non buyers and totally kills the vibe of this being a nice chilling place to relax and enjoy the morning, and instead you get greeted by a moody dude creates bad energy. Anyways it's San Francisco and this place went downhill with after Covid, everywhere took a hit, this place especially since I've been around here for 4-5 years. If you want to chill at a coffee shop, probably Gus is a bit better. read more
