While it's not like one must travel far in this town for a piece of avocado toast and a glass of kombucha (it was one of those kind of mornings) that doesn't mean places that can bang out both quickly should be taken for granted. Do note that on a sunday morning there will be like a lot of kids. So to the extent that you don't want to kinda deal with that, it's worth considering. AND THEY have almond milk as an option for free - not the Starbucks or Peet's $0.60 rip-off. Went here to grab a bite to eat for breakfast with a friend on a Saturday morning. There weren't too many people there so we were able to order right away and find a seat on the patio out front. For my meal, I decided to go with the chia bowl and then also shared a almond croissant with my friend. The chia bowl was absolutely massive as I was not even able to finish it--and I pretty much finish everything. The croissant was also very tasty--not the most flaky one I've ever had, but satisfying nonetheless. Also, my friend seemed to enjoy his breakfast sliders a lot and they looked quite fun as they were basically mini egg sandwiches. Overall, this place serves up some decent food and is not a bad spot to grab breakfast in the neighborhood. read more

We stumbled upon this cafe & it was a spacious, quiet super friendly Haven from the bustle & heat of the Carnaval parade. So we came in, me still in my jungle samba dance attire and proceeded to have a lovely visit. The espresso drinks & house made sangria were fantastic. After the parade- I was DYING for quality caffeine to recharge. We lunched here as well avocado toast & avocado melt were delicious & guilt free healthy. Glancing at the reviews, it seems other Yelpers have the same feeling I do about this place, which is that the problem is (a) employee attitude (b) employee speed. As for (b), they are s-l-o-w. Maybe they are taking great care in preparing stuff, but sheesh, it takes way longer than I expected. Added to which, I bought two to-go items, and after waiting oh-so-long to get them (it was the only food she was preparing), she said "all done" and plopped them in front of me with the flaps wide open. I mean, not a big deal; I set my cup down and sealed up the boxes myself, but is it really considered going out of the way to close a box? The (a) part bugs me more, though. During the same visit, I bought a $5 item and gave them a $20. The guy started pulling out a ton of $1s from the registered. I asked if I could just get back a 10 and a 5. He got all pissy and said most people wanted to leave tips. Well, I WAS going to leave a tip, but, no, not anymore. Kind of obnoxious to goad people into leaving a gratuity, particularly for a freakin' to-go pre-packaged item, which is no different than buying it at a grocery store. read more

What a pleasant surprise! This spot is a hidden gem. On my way to an appointment I stopped in to get some coffee and realized I was hungry so I ordered the Robin sandwich and changed it up a little bit and enjoyed that sandwich so much. Great spot to come and get work done during the day. They used to be open until 4pm, but it is nice that they expanded their M-F hours until 6pm. Their coffees are quite good - nothing special, but worth having if you are getting work done. The chipotle steak sandwich and the avocado melt are absolutely delicious! And the green salad included with the sandwiches is super-fresh. They do house-pressed juices, of which "Vengeance Served Cold" (carrot, apple, beet, cucumber, lemon, ginger) is awesome. House-baked Lavender Banana Bread is excellent, and there's a GF option. Two words: Avocado Toast. Three words: Great Customer Service. This is the place to go if you want clean, healthy eating. Everything tastes like its farm fresh to table--from crispy lettuce to crunchy toast, to green avocado and red tomatoes. I'm not talking about the perfect coloring you see in grocery stores. I'm taking about deep, rich color and texture that you only find in high quality food. When I go to Robin's Cafe @ ODC I feel like I'm going home--farm fresh to table. Oh, and the quality customer service is great. The space is very quiet and great for nose to the grind work, and if the sweet tooth kicks in...soft serve ice cream is right next to the counter. When I first saw the cafe, I was really happy to find a cute little cafe that sits on the quite street. However the person who works there is very unfriendly. They have the coffee out in the public for u to get ur own when u pay for the cup. You will be assuming it is free to refill ( otherwise how u control it ? ). But it is not - and they use this nasty attitude and finger point at You to ask u to pay when u go get the refill.
